Whale Wishes ~ Monday Montage

Hello stampers and welcome to another Monday Montage Blog Hop!  Be sure to make your way all the way through so you don't miss a single amazing project from these amazing stampers!

I am officially on summer break for the next 7 weeks which means a LOT more stamping time!  And since we are in the middle of a MAJOR heat wave, I'm locking myself in my cool stamping room and staying out of the heat!

I decided to make a splash into summer by pulling out the adorable Whale Done stamp set to create a couple cute cards.
First up is a card I created from one of this months Crafty Carrot Collective tutorials, which included a fun sketch.  I always love a great sketch to get me started!
I created the background with some Pool Party ink and a Blending Brush, adding a few Pool Party bubbles here and there.  The Mossy Meadow seaweed and Calypso Coral coral came next, along with a little school of (stamped off) Calypso Coral fish.  The happy little whale was stamped in Pacific Point and punched out with the coordinating Whale punch.  The sentiment was stamped and heat embossed on Crumb Cake and it was all wrapped up with a Linen Thread bow.  Sweet and simple...my favorite!
I broke out some of the retired Whale of a Time DSP from my stash for my next card.  This DSP was far too cute for me to part with and came in perfect for a 2nd birthday card for a special little buddy of ours.  Freshly Made Sketches was my source of inspiration for this card.

This under the sea pattern of DSP was just what the sweet little whale needed, along with a few little fishies as well!  Again, I used the Whale punch, but used all of the bits and pieces to build a whale this time. Biggest Wish helped to create a fun Happy Birthday greeting!

I was able to kick off my summer break this past weekend with our very own Wendy and Cheryl.  We met up in Idaho and packed a whole lot of fun into just one day.  I was supposed to stay longer, but one of my boys happened to have a wrestling camp in the very same, middle of nowhere, teeny-tiny town and needed a ride home after the camp.  Had I not had to worry about bringing home 3 additional kiddos, I would have been able to stay longer...momma guilt always gets the best of me and I can't say no.  But don't worry, plans will be made soon for us to meet up again.  We've gotten pretty good at making sure we meet up several times a year and I am forever grateful for that!
