#TGIFC214 - Create a Set

Hello stamping friends and welcome to an all new TGIF Challenges!  This week, our amazing team is creating sets of cards with some of our favorite stamp sets.

It has been another busy week in my house, so keeping things simple was my focus for the cards I'm sharing today.  The 2019-2020 Annual Catalog is just days away from going live and one of my favorite stamp sets is A Good Man. The images and sentiments in this stamp set make my heart happy.
I love that these images can pretty much stand alone with just a little color...perfect for some quick and simple cards!
This image and sentiment seriously made my eyes leak...it's perfect for my hubby, dad of 3 boys!

And this guy...don't you just want to set up a chair next to him and spend the day relaxing too?  This would be great as a Father's Day card, Birthday card, Retirement card...so many occasions!

Annnnddddd....my eyes are leaking again!  Any Daddy's girls out there?  I am an only child and my relationship with my dad is pretty special.  This image totally hit ALL of the emotions!

Sometimes simple is better...

Supplies Used:
Paper ~ Whisper White, Basic Black
Ink ~ Memento, Stampin' Blends {in just about every color available!}
Stamp Set ~ A Good Man
Other Supplies ~ Rectangle Stitched Framelits, Stitched Shapes Framelits

Hugs From Shelli ~ A Paper Pumpkin Thing Blog Hop

Hello stampers!  I am so excited to welcome you to this months A Paper Pumpkin Thing Blog Hop featuring the beautiful kit, Hugs From Shelli.  This months kit is a true example of Shelli's style, which I absolutely love! We have a fabulous hop with some AMAZING alternatives for you...don't miss a single stop!
Image may contain: text
Those of us who attended OnStage back in April got a sneak peek at this months kit and it was love at first sight for me!  You can imagine how excited I was when I received the full kit in my mail box and discovered all of the beautiful goodness inside!
For  my card, I fussy cut the nest from one of the note cards, reserving the backside for a layer on the new card front.  I added some color to the leaves nest and eggs with Stampin' Blends.  I also cut the card front of the pretty pink floral note card to use as another layer.  I added a few of the embellishments from the kit and added a beautiful sentiment.

I just love this little nest!  We have several nests in our trees this year, which have been full of baby birds.  So cute!

My next alternative project is a simple little sour cream container I created by  adhering two card fronts together and cut it down to a 5x5 square. A quick topper was made using the beautiful feather embellishments and gorgeous ribbon.  I added just a bit of Gold Metallic Thread and tied them all together with the Linen Thread provided in the kit.  These were clipped on with one of our cute Library Clips for an adorable little treat box.

If you haven't subscribed to Paper Pumpkin yet, what are you waiting for?!?!  These kits are amazing month after month and you will not regret finding them in your mail box each month!

Don't miss a single stop on our hop!  It is full of so much amazing, inspiring and creative alternative projects that you will absolutely love!

Picture Perfect Graduation

Happy Wednesday stampers!

Graduation season is officially here!  Another school year has gone by so fast...except for the very end.  The last couple of weeks seem to take forever!  I joke with my boys that I get summer-itus worse than they do.
I was going through some of my retiring stamp sets and thought that this sentiment from Picture Perfect Birthday would be awesome for a graduation card!  With the addition of a fun little graduation cap, it's a the perfect pairing!
I usually try to go with school colors for graduation cards, but these fun patterns of Animal Expedition jumped out at me.  I'm sure going to miss Berry Burst and Lemon Lime Twist!  Parting with In-Colors is always so hard!

Supplies Used:
Paper ~ Basic Black, Whisper White, Berry Burst, Lemon Lime Twist, Animal Expedition, Silver Glimmer
Ink ~ Memento
Stamp Set ~ Picture Perfect Birthday
Other Supplies ~ Silver Metallic Thread, Twinkle Adhesive Backed Sequins, Rectangle Stitched Framelits, Whisper White Bakers Twine

Thanks for stopping by today!  I hope your day is as amazing as you are!

Happy Stamping!

Celebrating 44 Years of Love

44 years ago my parents said I do...but their story didn't start there.  They started dating in the 7th grade!  You don't hear many love stories like theirs these days, which makes me love them even more.  They have set an amazing example not only for myself and my husband, but for our boys too.  It's so crazy to think that our twins could meet someone now and end up spending the rest of their life with them...
And can we just take a moment to say how CUTE my parents were in this picture?!?!  It has ALWAYS been one of my very favorites of them!
My parents just recently returned from a long trip to the Oregon Coast, their happy place, for an early anniversary celebration.  It seemed fitting to create them a peaceful ocean card for their anniversary.  And this sentiment could not fit them any better.  I am so grateful for the examples they have set and the light that their love shines!
This card was inspired by the sample in the upcoming 2019-2020 Annual Catalog.  I love the burst of sun over the water.  I sponged over the stamped images to create a softer look for the sun, water and sand.  Adding the lighthouse and birds in black created a fun silhouette look.

Supplies Used:
Paper ~ Whisper White, Balmy Blue, Crumb Cake
Ink ~ Memento, Balmy Blue, Crushed Curry, Calypso Coral, Petal Pink, Crumb Cake
Stamp Set ~ High Tide
Other Supplies ~ Seaside Embossing Folder

Its looking like we might have kind of a cloudy day of weather, which hopefully means a little extra stamping time for me!  I've got lots of projects that I need to work on...both in my craft room and in my yard.  My craft room is sounding like a lot more fun than yard work!

Happy Saturday and Happy Stamping!

Farewell Friday - Humming Along

We are down to the final days of the the 2018-2019 Annual and 2019 Occasions Catalogs.  While I am always excited to have amazing new ink, paper and stamps to play with, it's always hard to say good-by to some of my favorites!

Humming Along is one that I am certainly going to miss!  I love the images and sentiments in this stamp set!
I started out by stamping the beautiful flowers in Smoky Slate.  I was going to color each of the flowers, but after coloring the first one, I decided to stop and let the focus be on the humming bird.  I love how this turned out!

Supplies Used:
Paper ~ Balmy Blue, Whisper White
Ink ~ Smoky Slate, Memento, Stampin' Blends: Balmy Blue, Old Olive, Mango Melody
Stamp Set ~ Humming Along
Other Supplies ~ Iridescent Sequins

You still have a few more days to purchase this stamp set...and don't forget the coordinating framlits {like I did!}.

Have a fantastic Friday!

Happy Stamping!

Let Hope Be Your Anchor

"Hope is a strong anchor and trustworthy anchor for our souls."
 - Hebrews 6:19

This is one of my favorite bible verses and one of the reasons I was so drawn to the awesome new Sailing Home stamp set.  I love all of the images in this set, but this sentiment is my favorite!
I used some of the pieces from the make and take from OnStage, as well as a few other pieces from the Come Sail Away suite to complete this card.  The ocean always calms me and this suite has the same effect...love it!

We visited Pacific City OR over spring break and I snapped a picture of my boys praying together on one of the rocks.  This picture speaks a million words and warms my heart in so many ways. As soon as I saw this suite in the catalog, I knew I would use it to create a page for this picture.  Again, this sentiment was meant to be...
Scrapbook pages are not something that come easily to me and it took me FOREVER to create a layout.  Even after I had all of the pieces laid out, I still wasn't totally happy with it.  It wasn't until I crumpled up with Crumb Cake layer that I was content with the page.  It's always so amazing how crumpling up a piece of paper can add just the right amount of texture to a project!

Supplies Used:
Paper ~ Whisper White, Crumb Cake, Soft Suede, Night of Navy, Balmy Blue, Come Sail Away DSP
Ink ~ Night of Navy, Soft Suede
Stamp Set ~ Sailing Home
Other Supplies ~  Smooth Sailing Dies, Night of Navy/Sahara Sand Bakers Twine, Sail Away Trinkets

I'm so excited to share this suite with my customers in June.  We will be making this card in one of my classes and I know they will all love this stamp set as much as I do!

Thanks for stopping by today!

Happy Stamping!

Broadway Birthday Wishes ~ HSSCC315

Happy Tuesday stampers!  The Hand Stamped Sentiments Design Team is back with a fun and colorful challenge for you this week!

I love how bright and cheerful these colors are and thought they would be great for a festive birthday card!  After a weekend full of baseball, I was running short on time, but thanks to Broadway Birthday and the coordinating Broadway Lights Framelits, I was able to create this card before I headed out to work. I love it when creations come together so nicely!
Supplies Used:
Paper ~ Coastal Cabana, Whisper White, Gorgeous Grape
Ink ~ Gorgeous Grape, Melon Mambo, Coastal Cabana
Stamp Set ~ Broadway Birthday
Other Supplies ~ Broadway Lights Framelits, Twinkle Adhesive-Backed Sequins

It's always fun to piece paper together to create a fun background.  I cut some strips of Coastal Cabana and Whisper White to create some bold stripes to match the birthday candles.  Fun, right?!?!

#TGIFC212 Inspiration Challenge - Magnolia Lane

Happy Friday and welcome to an all new TGIF Challenges!  This week it's an Inspiration Challenge focused on paper flowers.  So many amazing possibilities!

I am still creating with the Magnolia Lane suite and decided to focus on the large magnolia image for today's card.  I stamped the image a couple times, colored it with my Stampin' Blends, then cut a few different pieces to layer.  I love doing this to add dimension to floral images!
The Magnolia Lane Large Specialty Memories & More Cards & Envelopes are AMAZING!  Adding a bit of the beautiful Magnolia Lane DSP dressed this card front up perfectly!

Can you tell that the new Stitched Nested Labels dies are one of my favorites?  I love that they coordinate with so many different stamp sets!  These are a MUST have for your die cutting collection!

Supplies Used:
Paper ~ Whisper White, Petal Pink, Magnolia Lane Specialty Memories & More Cards & Envelopes, Magnolia Lane DSP
Ink ~ Memento, Stampin' Blends:  Petal Pink, Daffodil Delight, Petal Pink, Crumb Cake
Stamp Set ~ Good Morning Magnolia
Other Supplies ~ Magnolia Memories Dies, Magnolia Lane Ribbon Combo Pack, Stitched Nested Labels

Free as an Early Bird

Anyone who knows me or has followed my blog for a bit, you know that I am an early riser and love to take advantage of the early morning hours for a little "me" time.  There are days that I would love to hit snooze a few times, but starting off my day with a little stamping time always makes for a great morning!
I'm not usually a bird person, but after getting to use the new Free as a Bird stamp set at OnStage in April, I fell in love with these little guys!  And any stamped image that I can color is always one that I love!
I worked on coloring these cute little birds yesterday morning and was able to finish up the card today.  I absolutely LOVE the new Bird Ballad DSP!  The images are so fun and colorful.  Not only do the patterns make for a fun background, but the images can be fussy cut and used as well.  How great is that?!?!
After coloring these sweet little birdies on their branch, I fussy cut the stamped image.  They perched perfectly on top of the fun patterns of DSP and blended right in with the lovely lace trim and trinket leaf.  Stamping the sentiment and die cutting it with the amazing new Stitched Nested Labels was the perfect added touch.
Supplies Used:
Paper ~ Whisper White, Petal Pink, Bird Ballad DSP
Ink ~ Memento, Stampin' Blends: Daffodil Delight, Old Olive, Pool Party, Soft Suede, Calypso Coral
Stamp Set ~ Free As A Bird
Other Supplies ~ Stitched Nested Labels Dies, Scalloped Lace Trim, Bird Ballad Trinkets

Thank you for stopping by today.  I hope you are all having a great week!

I'll be back tomorrow with another sneak peek of one of my favorite suites in the new 2019-2020 Annual Catalog.

Happy Stamping!

Magnolia Mother's Day

Happy Mother's Day to all of the amazing mom's out there...but most all, Happy Mother's Day to my most amazing momma! Without here, I wouldn't be the mom I am today.  I am forever grateful for everything she has taught me throughout my 40 {yikes} years!  I'm missing spending the day with her, but I know she is having a fantastic time in her happy place at the beach.  We will celebrate when she is back home!

My boys have given me a great Mother's Day so far, which even included a little quiet time in my craft room!  I just got my pre-order a couple of days ago and have been itching to play with the beautiful new Magnolia Lane suite.
I LOVE any stamp that I am able to color, so this stamp set was one of the first ones I added to my must have list.  I love all of the floral images!  The dies and DSP in this suite are stunning...so stay tuned for more creations to come your way!
Supplies Used:
Paper ~ Petal Pink, Crumb Cake, Whisper White, Magnolia Lane DSP
Ink ~ Memento, Stampin' Blends:  Petal Pink, Mossy Meadow
Stamp Set ~ Good Morning Magnolia, April 2019 Paper Pumpkin
Other Supplies ~ Magnolia Lane Ribbon Combo Pack, White Embossing Powder, Magnolia Memory Dies, Stitched Nested Labels Dies

These beautiful blooms were inspired by this weeks Freshly Made Sketches sketch.

After working in the yard a better part of the weekend and clearing away some of our overgrowth, I think I may need to convince my hubby that we need a magnolia tree in our front yard!  I've been trying to add some color and this would be the perfect way!

I hope you have all had a wonderful day and a beautiful Mother's Day!

Happy Stamping!

Perennial Essence Mother's Day

Hello stamping friends!  I'm back today with another Mother's Day card.  I was so happy to dig back into my box of new items I was able to order after attending OnStage last month.
The new Perennial Essence suite is absolutely GORGEOUS!  Not only is there a fun NEW punch that coordinates with the Floral Essence stamp set, but the Leaf Punch coordinates with it as well.  I love it when Stampin' Up! does this!
Supplies Used:
Paper ~ Whisper White, Petal Pink, Perennial Essence DSP
Ink ~ Petal Pink, Flirty Flamingo, Crushed Curry, So Saffron, Old Olive
Stamp Set ~ Floral Essence
Other Supplies ~ Leaf Punch, Stitched Shapes Framelits, Metallic Pearls

Did you know that some of the amazing Concept Artists from Stampin' Up! hand-paint some of our Designer Series Papers?  How awesome is that?!?!  I love that you can see the texture of the canvas in this DSP.  It's beautiful enough to frame!
I'm hoping to be back with one more Mother's Day card this week, so stay tuned!

Have a great day!

Happy Stamping!

Sentimental Rose Mother's Day ~ HSSSC314

Mother's Day is quickly approaching and I'm still working on a couple of cards for some special mom's in my life.

This weeks Hand Stamped Sentiments sketch and this months Paper Pumpkin kit were the perfect inspiration for a beautiful Mother's Day card!

I used a few pieces from the Sentiment Rose Paper Pumpkin kit, as well as the beautiful rose image and the fun embellishments.  I added a bit of texture with the Layered Leaves Embossing Folder.

To add a bit more dimension, I cut a few sections of the rose and layered it...I love how it turned out!
I used Grey Granite for my card base, but all of the other supplies were from the April 2019 Sentimental Rose Paper Pumpkin Kit.  It's always fun to create some alternative projects from these kits!

I still have a couple more Mother's Day cards to make, so be on the lookout for more this week!

Have a terrific Tuesday!

Happy Stamping!

Thank Your Teachers ~ Monday Montage

Welcome back to Monday Montage!!!  We have another fabulous hop in store for you this week!  Make sure you click on the links below so you don't miss any of the creations...we promise you will love them all!

I'm kicking off the start of Teacher Appreciation Week with a simple card and a cute gift basket for Owen's teachers.  His teachers have been so amazing this year!  As we near the end of the school year, I know the days get more and more difficult for both the kids and the teachers.  I thought a fun little treat would help them get through the week, especially since it's state testing week!

I am so sad to see Picked for You retire.  This set is SO GOOD for teachers and friends, of just to say thank you.  This may be a set that I have to hang onto.

We made these cards in my stamp class this past weekend.  It was a great opportunity to show just how amazing the Stamparatus is for multilayer stamp sets like this.  My customers loved just how EASY the Stamparatus was to use for perfect stamping!

Supplies Used:
Paper ~ Granny Apple Green, Poppy Parade, Soft Suede, Whisper White
Ink ~ Granny Apple Green, Poppy Parade, Soft Suede, Memento
Stamp Set ~ Picked for You
Other Supplies ~ Basket Weave Embossing Folder, Linen Thread
Owen is so excited to deliver these to his teachers this week.  Don't forget to thank your teachers this week!

Next up in hop is my crafty friend Cathy...her creations are so awesome!  Or if you'd like to take a hop back, you'll find the amazingly talented Amy...I love her style!

Thank you for stopping by today!

Happy Stamping!

#tgifc210 Color Challenge!!!

Happy Friday stampers!  Where has the week gone?!?!  I had plans to post projects all week, but life happened and the posts didn't...anyone else have a week like that?  I did still get some creative time in, which is good news because we have a fun new TGIF Challenges Color Challenge this week!

I have another Farewell Friday card to share with you this week.  Sheltering Tree is another stamp set that I am sad to see go.  If I remember correctly, this was one of the first photopolymer stamp sets Stampin' Up! released.  I have used this stamp set time and time again!  It's so good for any occasion, in any season!  It will be missed.
Supplies Used:
Paper ~ Crumb Cake, Whisper White, Wood Textures DSP
Ink ~ Crumb Cake, Petal Pink, Pool Party, Basic Gray, Pear Pizzazz
Stamp Set ~ Sheltering Tree
Other Supplies ~ Frosted Flower Embellishments, Pearl Basic Jewels
The Frosted Flower Embellishments are just too cute!  The Dogwood Tree's are blooming in my area and these little flowers reminded me of the pretty blooms.

Thank you for stopping by today!  Have a fantastic Friday and an even better weekend!
