Simple Special Moments

 Happy Monday friends!

I love finding peace and comfort in creating cards, especially when they are for a dear friend who recently lost a loved one.  I turned to my favorite, Plentiful Plants for a simple, yet meaningful sympathy card.
I chose two of the Bloom Where You're Planted DSP patterns in Granite Gray, cutting the fern pattern at an angle to add a little something extra.  The brick pattern was perfect for creating a little plant shelf for two potted plants.

I finally inked up the Special Moments stamp set from Sale-A-Bration for the sentiment...simple, yet so perfect.  This stamp set is jam packed full of sentiments for any occasions and can still be earned for FREE through the month of February with a purchase of $100 in product.
Can you believe I made a card without an embossed sentiment OR embellishments?!?  Sometimes all you need are stamps, ink and paper!

Thanks for stopping by today.  I hope you have a fantastic week!

Driving By to Say...

Hello and welcome to the latest Hand Stamped Sentiments Color Challenge!

My first thought was to reach for a floral stamp set when I saw these colors, but then I remember my friends orange VW van and decided the Driving By stamp set would be perfect!

I colored the van Pumpkin Pie (of course), the bug Petal Pink and the car Daffodil Delight.  That cute little yellow car reminds me of a banana colored in yellow!  Since I fussy cut each car, I decided to snip off the gifts and balloons attached and just went with the cars.

I created a watercolored background with Pool Party and Crumb Cake to create the perfect beach scene.  And what's a beach scene without some palm trees right?

This cute card is on it's way to my friend Pam with a happy little note...I know she's going to love it!

I hope you'll join us and play along with this weeks Color Challenge!

Island Vibes Birthday Wishes

Hello and welcome to an all new Monday Montage Blog Hop! We are missing a few participants this time around, but I promise we still have a ton of great projects to share with you!

My mother-in-laws birthday is coming up this week, so I had some fun mixing a few older stamp sets with some new stamp sets.  I was inspired by the Crafty Carrot Collective Birthday Bash Challenge...their challenge was to use the color orange, vellum, ribbon/twine and a birthday sentiment. Here's how it all came together!

I love the big leafy palms from the Sale-a-Bration Island Vibes stamp set.  I stamped a set of palm leaves in each corner of the Basic White cardstock, framing it with a piece of Soft Suede.

Next I added the big hibiscus flower, which was stamped in Calypso Coral, then colored in Pumpkin Pie and Daffodil Delight, then die-cut.  You can't have a hibiscus flower without a pineapple, right???  Using my Stampin' Write Markers, I inked up the pineapple in Evening Evergreen and Crushed Curry and fussy cut it.

And...no surprise...the sentiment was heat embossed in white on Basic Black and fussy cut.  I pieced together sentiments from Biggest Wish and Create with Friends for the perfect sentiment.

Next up is my friend Cathy Casey...
...or you can hop backwards to my dear friend Wendy Weixler.

Be Mine Valentine

Welcome to another fabulous TGIF Challenges!  This week have a fun Inspiration Challenge to share with you!

With Valentine's Day quickly approaching, I figured one more card using the Sweet Talk Suite would be perfect for this challenge.  Between the watercolor DSP and stamped images from the Sweet Conversations stamp set, they were meant to be!

I stamped some X's and O's in Petal Pink on a piece of Petal Pink DSP, then added a little layer of the cute conversation hearts DSP.  Next came the die-cut label from Sweet Hearts Dies on Shimmery White, which I watercolored with Pool Party.  A couple X's and O's were stamped in Pool Party too!

I die-cut a row of hearts from the Rose Gold Metallic Specialty Paper, attaching them to the label with a strip of Pool Party Sheer Ribbon and securing it with a white Baker's Twine Bow.

A couple hearts were cut from the DSP to top the tag and the negative's from the hearts dies created the perfect little embellishments.  A simple Happy Valentine's Day sentiment was added and this card was complete!

Do any of you love the little conversation heart candies?  Those sweet treats are one of my sweet tooth weaknesses this time of year!

I hope you'll join in the fun and play along with us this week!

Make it Monochromatic ~ Control Freaks

Welcome to this months Control Freaks Blog hop!  We are sharing some of our favorite Stampin' Up! colors and some of us are even making monochromatic creations!  You may have arrived from the amazing Melissa Davies of Rubber Funatics or you may just be starting.  Either way, make sure you hop all the way through!

I chose to {kind of} go monochromatic with my creations.  Sometimes I just can't veer away from using black!

First up is a Valentine card that is sweet enough to eat!  I used the adorable Sweet Talk DSP, pulling the patterns in shades of Real Red and Petal Pink.  Then I selected some equally adorable candy and hearts in the same colors to fussy cut.  Yes, I know the dies coordinated with some of the hearts the DSP, but fussy cutting is my jam and I don't mind it one bit!
The DSP did most of the talking here...except for the simple Happy Valentine's Day sentiment stamped in Real Red.  I love it when that happens!

Next up is a Pool Party friendly hello.  I LOVE the Friendly Hello DSP and would love to see it make it's way into the next Annual Catalog...a girl can wish, right?!?  I cut a flagged strip of beautiful Pool Party and Basic Black floral DSP, then stamped my own piece of DSP using the Friendly Hello floral images.  The cute little bird was stamped in Memento and just a touch of Pool Party was added to the wings and flowers.
In true Craft-somnia Momma fashion, I stamped and heat embossed the sentiment in white on Basic Black and fussy cut it...shocker, right?!?!  A few Artistry Blooms sequins were tucked in here and there and that was a wrap for this card!

Next up is the amazing Cindy Elam of Hearts Delights Cards

Friendly Birthday Wishes

Hello stampers!

I had an extra day off today in honor of Martin Luther King Jr. Day and most of my day was spent in my craft room!   That always makes for a great day!

I love this weeks  Global Design Project sketch challenge.  It inspired me to give a little more love to the Sale-A-Bration Friendly Hello stamp set and coordinating Friendly Hello DSP.

I cut a square piece of the multi-color flower and bird DSP pattern, and layered it with a Fresh Freesia Shimmer Vellum die-cut circle. I love the you can still see the DSP beneath the vellum.

I stamped the flower image in Fresh Freesia, adding a few Granny Apple Green leaves and a few sprigs of Pale Papaya.  I fussy cut the stamped image, tucking a little polka dot strip underneath.

As always, I heat embossed the sentiment in white on Basic Black and finished the card off with a few Classic Matte Dots.

I love the simplify of this sketch...so much that I will likely use it again in the very near future!

I am grateful for the extra day off...last week was pure (COVID) craziness and I'm gearing up for this week to be just a crazy!  Time to rest up and get ready for the the week.

You Make This World...

...a better place.

Welcome to an all new TGIF Challenges sketch challenge!

We can use a whole lot of sunshine & rainbows in our lives these days!  Thanks to the Rainbows of Happiness bundle and coordinating SAB Sunshine & Rainbows DSP, we can spread happiness all around!

I used a rainbow of DSP patterns to go along with the sketch, adding the adorable rainbow tag for the sentiment.  I love this tag!

A few rays of sunshine were stamped in Mango Melody, along with a splash of Flirty Flamingo hearts.  Some Iridescent Rhinestones added just the right amount of bling.  Isn't this card just the happiest?!?!

It's creating cards like this that get me through these crazy times...I am so thankful for my creative hobby and stamping community!

Daffodil Field of Thanks ~ #HSSSC380

Happy Tuesday stampers and welcome to the first Hand Stamped Sentiments challenge of the year.  We are back after a short little break and can't wait to share all of our challenges with you this year!

Once again, spring is calling my name!  I can't wait to see my daffodils popping out of the cold winter ground in just a few weeks.  But for now, I'm happy with the Daffodil Daylight Bundle (JJ Mini) and coordinating Daffodil Afternoon DSP (SAB).

Isn't this die-cut daffodil beautiful?  I love all of the detail and can't wait to create more in different colors.  With the beautiful daffodil pattern of DSP, all I needed was one single flower to go along with the sketch.

I tucked the flower under a piece of Pale Papaya DSP and topped it off with a Thank You sentiment from Sweet Strawberry stamp set, with just a bit of the Evening Evergreen Open Weave Ribbon.  A couple butterflies completed the cheerful spring-time scene.

I hope you'll join along with our first sketch of the year.  We always love to see what you create!

HB2U Amazing Kind Human

Welcome to another fabulous Monday Montage Blog Hop!

Today I'm sharing a fun creation using the adorable new Nuts & Bolts stamp set.  This was a must have as soon as I saw it!  I see some fun Valentine's for my youngest with this stamp set, but for now I have this amazing-kind-human birthday card.

I started out by stamping, coloring and fussy cutting each robot.  I couldn't decide which one I liked the best, so I used them ALL!

Stitched Stars and Amazing Thanks dies were used to add a little extra color, along with the HB2U and Kind Human sentiments.  I stamped some extra robots on a piece of Smoky Slate for a little extra fun in the background.

Did you notice those fun Resin Stars?  I'm going to need a few more packages of those guys!  And don't mind the retired Star Crossed embossing folder...I figured since it was still in it's package, it must be current.  Oops!

Next up is my crafty friend Cathy of Sugar Shack Designs!

Or if you want to hop on back, you'll find my stampin' BFF Wendy of Wickedly Wonderful Creations !
Either way, make sure you don't miss a single stop along the way!

Rain Boots and Tulips ~ #TGIFC350

Happy Friday stampers and welcome to an all new TGIF Challenges!

We have an all new Color Challenge for you to play along with...and the chance to be a guest designer at TGIF Challenges!  Check out this weeks post for all the details!

It has been a wild winter weather week here that has me longing for warmer spring weather and flowers.  The Flowering Rainbows bundle helped me bring a little warmth and cheerfulness into my craft room .

Working with this color challenge had me digging through my DSP, looking for something that would work with these colors.  I had just enough of this In Good Taste pattern to create a fun background for some Night of Navy boots and Blushing Bride Tulips.  The DSP was die-cut with the Stitched Rectangle dies with a smaller Basic White Stitched Rectangle to break the DSP pattern up just a bit.

A bit of Gold Metallic Specialty paper was die-cut with the intricate diamond pattern die to pull in just the right amount of gold for the color challenge.  A couple Brushed Brass Butterflies were added for just a bit more shimmer.

The beautiful sentiment was heat embossed on Blushing Bride, die-cut with my favorite Tasteful Labels dies.  The Night of Navy card base was embossed with the awesome new Gingham embossing folder...be prepared see a lot of this folder!

I'm hoping these rain boots and flowers will bring some warmer weather, allowing me to trade in my snow boots for my rain boots.  In the meantime, I'll keep on enjoying time in my warm cozy craft room.

Wildlife Wonder Birthday Wishes

Happy Wednesday and Happy Birthday to my dad!

Today's card features the new Wildlife Wonder stamp set, combined with Mountain Air.  I'm always so excited when new masculine stamp sets hit the catalog!  Wildlife Wonder will certainly get a lot of use with all of the outdoor men in my life!

I created a blended background using the Blending Brushes and shades of Misty Moonlight, Pale Papaya, Old Olive and Crumb Cake.  This created the perfect setting for some snow-capped Mountain Air mountains.
The big ol' bear was stamped in Early Espresso and fussy cut...my favorite thing to do!  A single Evening Evergreen tree added just a bit more to the mountain scene.  I stamped and heat embossed a couple of the sentiments from Wildlife Wonder, along with the "DAD" sentiment from Hats Off.  These were fussy cut and pieced together for the perfect birthday sentiment for my Dad!

I can't wait to create even more projects with this beautiful stamp set...I just need to find the time!  I started a new job this week, which is a few more hours a week...which means a few less hours of stamp time.  I'll be taking advantage of my weekends a lot more now!

Thanks for stopping by today!

Cactus Cuties and Rainbow's of Happiness

Happy new Mini and Sale-a-Bration Catalog day!!!

I don't know about you, but I love the feeling of the fresh start of the New Year.  Want to know what I love even more?!?!  Fresh, new Stampin' Up! products!  This years January-June Mini Catalog is packed FULL of so many amazing new products.  But wait...there's even more amazing news!  January-February Sale-a-Bration kicks off today as well.  You can earn SAB items for FREE with every $50 or $100 spent.

I thought I would share a couple of my favorites with you today.  Cactus Cuties and Rainbow of Happiness Bundles were MUST HAVE's for me!
I used the adorable Sunshine & Rainbow's DSP, which you can earn for free from Sale-a-Bration with a $50 purchase.  Trust me...this paper is worth it!

I paired this cute cactus up with the even cuter polka dot pattern of DSP.  The cactus came together quick and easy with the coordinating Cactus Builder Punch.  A bright Bermuda Bay card base, along with a little Mango Melody makes for a bright and cheerful little note.

Next up is "a little something to brighten your day".  I die-cut the rainbow using a rainbow of Sunshine & Rainbow's DSP.  Aren't these patterns all just the BEST?!?!

The new Cloud punch coordinates with the cloud pattern of DSP too...can this DSP get any better?!?

What's a rainbow without the sunshine?  This sunny sentiment was heat embossed in white on Mango Melody, which fits perfectly inside the sunburst die from Tasteful Labels dies.  The Painted Texture 3D embossing folder added just the right amount of texture to this card as well...and no embellishments were necessary!

These two bundles and FREE Sale-a-Bration items may be my favorites, but these catalogs are FULL of so many awesome projects that you are going to want to add to your collection.

Don't wait any longer...start your shopping HERE today!

Party Like Puffins

Good-bye 2021...Hello 2022!

Happy New Year friends!

Our family celebrated the New Year like puffins...FREEZING COLD!  We've hit single digit temps and have almost 2 feet of snow.  It was perfect for staying in with bowls of hot soup and some fun card games with family that stopped by throughout the night.  I'd like to say I made it until midnight...but I'm old and that just doesn't happen these days.  We rang in the New Year with our East Coast friends and were in bed by 10:00!
Since I don't have any New Years stamps, I thought these cute little Party Puffins and the Create With Friends stamp sets would work out just fine!

I stamped, colored and fussy cut all three of the puffins, along with the Celebrate sentiment.  These were paired up with a couple Party Pattern DSP patterns, some sequins and a bit of twine...it's a party now!
I hope you are ready for a fresh start in the New Year and I'm praying that 2022 is a bit less uneventful than the past two years have been!
