Freshly Made Broadway Star

Hello stampin' friends!!!  It's Thursday morning, my kids are still sleeping and I a enjoying a delicious cup of coffee while I catch up on my favorite shows and stamping my {early} morning away.  Loving this summer break thing!

I recently posted some fun cards using the Broadway Bound suite, which I absolutely love.  So you can imagine just how excited I was when I saw that this months Broadway Star Paper Pumpkin coordinated with the suite!

This weeks Freshly Made Sketches challenge helped me to create a couple alternative cards with this awesome kit!

I love that many of the pieces are stickers...it's the perfect way to create 8 amazing cards in no time at all!

I also created some using the kit directions with just a few of my own added touches.  Aren't these so much fun!
All of the supplies I used were provided in the kit, with the exception of a few pieces of Lovely Lipstick and Basic Black cardstock, as well as black in.

Do you subscribe to Paper Pumpkin?  If you aren't a subscriber yet, you are missing out on so much fun!  Jump into the fun and subscribe before July 10th to receive the next kit.  I've seen a little clip on their inspiration for July's kit and I'm hoping for some summer picnic fun :-)

Thank you for stopping by today!

Happy Stamping!

Merry Monday

Pinch me!  I'm in my craft room...stamping and blogging on a Monday afternoon!  Hello summer break!  I feel like a little kid again being this excited about a few weeks off for summer!  I started my day off with a great workout, some meal and snack prepping for the week and some yard work.  Now I am enjoying some time in my craft room before I hit the pool with my boys.

Did you know we only have 6 months left until Christmas?!?!  Time to get busy on my Christmas creations!  I'm finishing up my card samples for my upcoming Christmas in July class and chose Hearts Come Home as one of the stamp sets to use.  I love this set and the sentiments are so good!
Supplies Used:
Paper ~ Basic Gray, Smoky Slate, Cherry Cobbler, Whisper White
Ink ~ Basic Gray, Smoky Slate, Cherry Cobbler
Stamp Set ~ Hearts Come Home, Pocketful of Sunshine
Other Supplies ~ Stitched Shapes Framelits, Layering Circles Framelits, Subtle Embossing Folder, Detailed Trio Punch, Cherry Cobbler Double Stitched Ribbon

I was going to go with more traditional Christmas colors with this set, but after scrolling through Pinterest for a bit, I came across a card in gray-tones and fell in love.  The splash of Cherry Cobbler gives a festive pop of color!

My youngest is on my case telling me it's time to get to the pool.  That means it's time to clean up my mess and get the boys to the pool.  I've got an ice cold coffee and a great book to take with me...sweet summer fun!

Happy Stamping!

Can you believe we have just 6 months (and a few days) until Christmas?!?!?  That's just plain crazy to even think about!  I better sit down and start thinking about Christmas gifts now because it will be here before we know it!

I am working on my Christmas in July card samples for an upcoming class this month.  This weeks Freshly Made Sketches and the annual catalog gave me just the inspiration I needed this morning to create a cheerful Christmas card!

I LOVE plaid and polka dots!  Under the Mistletoe DSP was on my must have list as soon as I saw the fun patterns in the pack.  And adding Night of Navy to traditional Christmas colors...brilliant!!!
Supplies Used:
Paper ~ Real Red, Old Olive, Whisper White, Under the Mistletoe DSP
Ink ~ Night of Navy, Real Red, Old Olive
Stamp Set ~ Labels to Love
Other Supplies ~ Everyday Label, 1-1/2" Circle Punch, Softly Falling Embossing Folder

Have a terrific Thursday!

Best Dad Ever

Happy Father's Day to all of the amazing Dad's out there!!

My boys are so lucky to have such an amazing dad...he's their coach and their umpire when the need arises...he works hard both at work and at home...and he helps to keep this momma sane!  We are so blessed to have him!

Not only is my husband an amazing dad, but my own dad is a pretty awesome guy too!  My dad is the first man I loved, the man who taught me how to be resourceful and independent...and he is one cool grandpa too!  In addition to all of his coolness, my dad is one amazing grill-master too!  It seemed pretty fitting to create this fun Father's Day card for him, including an itty bitty burger and hot dog!
Supplies Used:
Paper ~ Whisper White, Shaded Spruce, Night of Navy, Crumb Cake, Granny Apply Green, Crushed Curry, Early Espresso, Real Red, Cajun Craze
Ink ~ Shaded Spruce, Night of Navy
Stamp Set ~ Apron of Love
Other Supplies ~ Apron Builder Framelits

Believe it or not, I used bits and pieces from the Apron Builder Framelits to create the itty bitty hamburger and hot dog!  I love finding other purposes for frailest and punches to create something fun!

I'm off to get everything in order for a Father's Day breakfast for my hubby and his step dad. We will feast later this afternoon with my own dad...it will be a day long celebration of Dad's! And I am sure there will be some sort of baseball at some point in the day...because that's what we do!

Happy Father's Day and Happy Stamping!

#tgifc164 Technique Time - Doodle Bug

It's FINALLY Friday!  I don't know about you, but this has been one long week for me!  Between my kiddos getting out of school for the summer and trying to wrap things up for the end of my contract year at my job, I am beat!  I have one more week of work left and then I have a full 6 weeks off!  I am looking forward to a relaxed schedule and time to catch up on life!

Not having to get my kiddos up and out the door has given me a bit more time in my craft room the past couple of mornings.  This means I had time to create a quick and fun card for this weeks TGIF Challenges Technique Challenge!

I can NOT draw...this is why I stamp.  I was never much of a "Doodle Bug" when I was younger and still am not today, so this challenge was, well...a challenge for me!  I tried a few different doodles and they were not pretty, so I decided to keep things simple and add a few hand drawn lines around the edges of my card.  Easy way out, I know...but it does add a little fun to the card.
Supplies Used:
Paper ~ Whisper White
Ink ~ Memento Tuxedo Black, Coastal Cabana, Berry Burst, Lemon Lime Twist
Stamp Set ~ Picture Perfect Birthday
Other Supplies ~ Iridescent Sequins

Do you like to doodle?  Show us your skills and join in the fun with this challenge!

Have a fantastic Friday and, as always, happy stamping!

Celebrate

Today is a day to CELEBRATE!!  It's the last day of school for my kiddos and summer break is officially under way.  I came home from work to find my boys and a couple of their friends having popsicles on the back porch and making plans to head to the pool tomorrow afternoon. I can't wait to join them after my last day next Friday!

This weeks Freshly Made Sketches challenge inspired a fun end of the year celebration card!
I pulled out my Brusho to create a colorful background...I love this stuff!  I cut out and layered a few "Celebrate" and coated them in glue with the Fine Tip Glue Pen to give it a fun, glossy look.
Supplies Used:
Paper ~ Whisper White, Basic Black, Watercolor Paper
Ink ~ Brusho
Other Supplies ~ Silver Metallic Thread, Celebrate You Thinlits, Starburst Punch, Clear Rhinestones

One thing we are NOT celebrating is the fact that one of the boys likely has Mono :-(  Not a great way to kick off summer!  I am hopeful that a few mornings of sleeping in and lots of fluids will kick it quickly and doesn't get too run down!

I hope you're having a great week!

Happy Stamping!

Freshly Made Christmas Pines

Happy Sunday stampers!  I hope everyone is having a great weekend so far!  This is the first full weekend we have had with no baseball or anything else going on...it's kind of strange!  It was a cold, dreary and rainy day yesterday, so I took advantage of it and got almost all caught up on my house chores.  Just a bit more to do today and I'll be back on track! Which also means I'll have some more time to create today...yay!!!
I promised my stamp club friends that we would do a Christmas in July class next month and the latest Freshly Made Sketches challenge gave me just the inspiration I needed to get started on my samples for class!
I am so happy that Christmas Pines carried over again...this is probably one of my favorite stamp sets!  I love all of the detail in the thinlits!  And can I just say again how HAPPY I am to have Mint Macaron back?!?!  Isn't it beautiful with the Copper Foil and Very Vanilla?
Supplies Used:
Paper ~ Mint Macaron, Very Vanilla, Copper Foil, Velum
Ink ~ Mint Macaron, VersaMark
Stamp Set ~ Christmas Pines
Other Supplies ~ Pretty Pines Thinlits, Copper Embossing Powder, Very Vanilla Bakers Twine, Copper Metallic Thread

I have a few new Christmas items coming my way, so you are certain to see a few more Christmas creations over the next couple of weeks.  It's never to early to start, right?

I hope you all have a great day!

Happy Stamping!

#tgifc163 Sketch Challenge

TGIF stampers!!!  We made it to Friday and I couldn't be happier!  My twins had their last regular season baseball game of their Little League career last night and I'm still a bit emotional!  It has been such a treat to watch them grow in so many ways over the past 7 years and I could not be more proud of them!  Their team made it to the City Tournament, so we still have a couple games ahead of us before they are officially done.

Enough of my tears...lets get on with this weeks TGIF Challenges Sketch Challenge.  It's not my regular week to design with the team, but after seeing this great sketch, I just had to jump in!
Between the sketch and the Annual Catalog, I had lots of inspiration to create this card.  I've said it before and I'll say it again...I love all of the yummy textures and colors in the Nature's Poem Suite.
Supplies Used:
Paper ~ Petal Pink, Mint Macaron, Whisper White, Nature's Poem DSP
Ink ~ Petal Pink, Mint Macaron, Tranquil Tide
Stamp Set ~ Rooted in Nature
Other Supplies ~ Nature's Roots Framelits, Leaves Trinkets, Pinewood Planks

The colors and stamps in this suite are just so soothing and calming to me...just what my crazy emotional mind needs today ;-)

I hope you all have a fabulous weekend!

Happy Stamping!

Party Animals

Happy Wednesday stampin' friends!  We're on the downhill slide to the weekend...YIPPEE!!!  And we are officially one week away from summer break for my kiddos!  Where in the world has time gone this school year?!?!  It feels like they just started a few weeks ago.  In years past I have half way dreaded summer break because I was always stuck at home working while my kids and hubby were having fun.  But that all changes this year because I get summer break off too :-)

We kicked off summer over Memorial Day weekend and the fun continued last weekend as we celebrated the 3rd Birthday of one of our little buddies from our fire family.  His family had a fun party that included a HUGE slip-n'-slide, which ALL of the kiddos loved!  I didn't have any birthday cards on hand that were appropriate for a 3 year little boy, so I whipped up this cute and cheerful card before we headed out to the party.  Can you tell that Animal Outings is one of my favorites from the new catalog?!?
Supplies Used:
Paper ~ Whisper White, Real Red, Daffodil Delight
Ink ~ Memento Tuxedo Black, Stampin' Blends
Stamp Sets ~ Animal Outings, Hand Delivered (hostess set), Picture Perfect Birthday
Other Supplies ~ Polka Dot Basics Embossing Folder

I think one of the reasons I love the Animal Outings stamp set so much is because you can color the images.  Coloring and fussy cutting are two of my favorite crafting pastimes...it's so therapeutic!  And aren't the balloons from the Hand Delivered hostess set the perfect little addition?  They kind of remind me of the movie Up!

Thank you for stopping by today!  I hope you are having a great week and have some fun plans coming up for the weekend!

Happy Stamping!

HSSIC#291 ~ Adventure Awaits

Take me to to the beach!!!

Good morning stampers and welcome to an all new Hand Stamped Sentiments Inspiration Challenge.  This week we have a fantastic nautical theme that has me longing for a trip to the Oregon Coast!
.
Confession...I was kind of in a creative funk and could not come up with any ideas when I sat down to create for this weeks challenge.  So, I decided to step away and tidy up my craft room a little bit while I waited for inspiration to hit.  As I was putting away some of my Paper Pumpkin boxes, I opened up last months You Are My Anchor kit and there was my answer!  I had only put together part of the kit and still had lots of fun things left to piece together a quick card and a cute little box, which will be perfect end of the year gifts for my sons teacher!

Supplies Used:
Paper ~ Pool Party, You Are My Anchor Paper
Ink ~ Pool Party, Calypso Coral
Stamp Set ~ You Are My Anchor
Other Supplies ~ Whisper White Bakers Twine, You Are My Anchor

I am in the final stretch of my contract year at my job and am really looking forward to having some time off this summer with my family.  We are hoping to squeeze in a camping trip or two and will be headed to the Oregon Coast mid summer...I am so READY!!!

Thanks for stopping by today! Stop on by Hand Stamped Sentiments and share what you've been inspired to create today!

Happy Stamping!

Are you all enjoying the new catalog?!?  What are some of your new favorites?  I don't know that I've really been able to narrow mine down to just a few...I love it all!  One thing I love about the new catalog coming out is seeing new life to some of the stamp sets that have carried over.  Lemon Zest was not a set that I just had to have when last years catalog came out, but after a year of seeing it and knowing it was carrying over, I HAD to have it!  It's such a great stamp set for summer fun cards!
Supplies Used:
Paper ~ Whisper White, Lemon Lime Twist, Pineapple Punch, Flirty Flamingo, Basic Black
Ink ~ Lemon Lime Twist, Pineapple Punch, Flirty Flamingo, Tuxedo Black Memento
Stamp Set ~ Lemon Zest
Other Supplies ~ Lemon Builder, Iridescent Sequins

Aren't these colors fabulous together?!?!  They make me thirsty for a yummy summery drink!

Simple Saturday Birthday

Happy Saturday stampin' friends!  We are in between baseball games, so we snuck home for a bite to eat and I even got in a little stamping.  I knew I would be short on time, so I keep things simple today with some fun new colors!

I think one of my favorite new colors is Granny Apple Green!  It's so bright and cheerful!  It pairs up perfectly with one of our new colors, Lovely Lipstick.  Add in a little splash of Petal Pink and Soft Sea Foam and you have a great color combo!
I added just a bit of texture with a Layered Leaves embossed piece of Granny Apple Green and a little splash of Lovely Lipstick behind my Happy Birthday sentiment.  Not too much, but just enough to brighten things up a bit.
Supplies Used:
Paper ~ Whisper White, Granny Apple Green, Lovely Lipstick
Ink ~ Granny Apple Green, Lovely Lipstick, Petal Pink, Soft Sea Foam
Stamp Set ~ Perennial Birthday
Other Supplies ~ Layerd Leaves Textured Embossing Folder

I might have time to sneak in one more card before we head back to the ballfield for Aidan and Hunter's game.  Their team is in the running for 1st place, so it should be a good one!

Have a great day!

Happy Stamping!

#tgifc162 Color Challenge

Happy Annual Catalog Release Day!

I know you've all been anxiously awaiting this day and it is finally here.  Do you LOVE everything in the 2018-2019 Annual Catalog?  I think this is one of my favorites yet!

This weeks TGIF Challenges Color Challenge was the perfect combo for one of my favorite new sets in the catalog, Animal Outing.

Isn't this chubby rhino the cutest?  And what about the little tree frog?!?  All of the images in this stamp set are so stinking cute and I can not wait to get my hands on the coordinating framelits.
Supplies Used:
Paper ~ Night of Navy, Old Olive, Whisper White
Ink ~ Memento Tuxedo Black, Night of Navy, Stampin' Blends:  Old Olive, Smoky Slate, Pool Party, Pumpkin Pie
Stamp Set ~ Animal Outing
Other Supplies ~ Layed Leaves Textured Impressions Embossing Folder, Night of Navy Medium Bakers Twine, Stitched Shapes Framelits

Did you hear the fabulous news?  The Stampin' Blends are available again and NEW colors should hopefully be available mid June.  I am excited to add more colors to my collection!

I hope everyone has a great weekend that, of course, includes a little stamping time!  We've got another busy baseball weekend ahead of us, but I am determine to squeeze in a little creative time.

Happy Stamping!
