Take me to the Beach...

What I wouldn't give to be at the beach this weekend...
So many of my friends and family are vacationing at the beach this weekend and have been flooding Facebook and Instagram with all of their sunny beach pictures.  Our time will come soon enough though!  My family will be spending 10 wonderful days in Pacific City in August....can't wait!  Until then, we'll beat the 100+ degree temps and stay cool in our little blow up swimming pool.

This weeks Friday Mashup also has me thinking of the beach!  The Mashup challenge is to create a beach themed card using the masking technique.  I was totally inspired by Heidi Baks card and just had to CASE it!

Supplies Used:
Paper ~ Soft Sky, Whisper White, Early Espresso Core'dinations
Ink ~ Soft Sky, Coastal Cabana, Crumb Cake, Crushed Curry, Smoky Slate
Stamp Sets ~ By the Tide
Other Supplies ~ Woodgrain Embossing Folder, Linen Thread, Bird Punch, 1-3/8" Circle Punch

You may notice that my picture is outside instead of my crafting desk...it's because I have next to no room on my desk at the moment as I am knee deep in swaps for Convention.  The good news is that I am almost done with my swaps and I can clean my desk off and put everything back in it's place...the mess is stressing me out!

I hope you all get to enjoy some beach time at some point this summer...there's no better place to be!

Happy Stamping!

No Freakin' Way!!!

Ever get a phone call that totally makes your day?  Well, I sure did yesterday!!!  My hubby and I had made plans to go out for a long overdue date night, but he got called out for work...boo :( So, I was a little bit bummed for the rest of the day...until I saw I had a missed call from Utah!  At first I thought, "Oh, it's just that darn telemarketer calling me again to see how my cat food shopping experience was".  But then as I listened to the message, I found out it was Amy from Stampin' Up!  And she had some AMAZING news for me!  I've been selected as one of the 20 Artisan Design Team finalists...No Freakin' Way!!!!!

It's a good thing she had to leave me a message instead of talking to me because I was jumping up and down, squealing like a little girl as I listened!  My youngest started jumping up and down with me and one of my 7 year olds came running in asking "what the heck happened?!??!".  After I managed to calm myself down a bit, I called Amy back to thank her for the phone call.  Then I called my BFF (twin-brain-sister-friend-crafting partner in crime) and all of my other super close friends to share the exciting news.  (I called my hubby too, but he was in the middle of horrid traffic trying to get a patient to the hospital, so we weren't really able to talk.)

When I decided to submit my projects and application for the Artisan Design Team, I NEVER thought I would make it as a finalist!  There are so many talented and well deserved artists who entered and I am honored to have been selected.  Thank you to all of my friends and family who believed in me and encouraged me to enter!
I am excited, anxious and nervous for Convention to get here now!  I knew we were in for a fun-filled couple of days, but this just adds even more fun to the mix!

Here's a fun card I made to share my excitement:

Supplies Used:
Paper ~ Pool Party, Very Vanilla, Epic Day This and That DSP
Ink ~ Gumball Green, Calypso Coral, Pool Party, Basic Gray, Daffodil Delight
Stamp Sets ~ Tape It, Yippee-Skippee Positively Chevron
Other Supplies ~ Calypso Coral Bakers Twine, Subtles Designer Buttons, Hung Up Cute Clips, Epic Day This and That Stickers, Sponge Daubers

I used some re-inker and water with my sponge daubers to create the fun splatter marks...so much fun!

I'm still running on pure excitement this morning and hope to use some of this energy to get through some more of my Convention swaps.

Wising you all an amazing weekend!

Happy Stamping!

Will run for coffee

Coffee {and stamping} is my motivation to get out of bed bright and early every morning!  I know as soon as I get home and shower, I'll have my "me" time to enjoy a cup of coffee and get some stamping time before the rest of my crew wakes up.  And I did just that this morning!

Using the clean and simple sketch from this weeks Try Stampin' on Tuesday  challenge I made a fun card using the new Perfect Blend stamp set.

I couldn't decide which one I liked the best, so you get to see both of them!

Supplies Used:
Paper ~ Crumb Cake, Whisper White, Baked Brown Sugar
Ink ~ Crumb Cake, Baked Brown Sugar, Bermuda Bay, Tangerine Tango, Smoky Slate
Stamp Sets ~ Perfect Blend, Tape It, Paper Pumpkin

If you haven't noticed, I've been kind of on a grunge and splatter kick with my cards...kind of a fun way to add some detail or a little extra color to your card.  The little splatters reminded me of coffee splatters that always manage to find their way onto my pants or shirt ;)

Now, if my coffee would only motivate me to work...

Happy Stamping!

Bloomin' Bouquet, Ole!

I finally got around to putting my Bloomin' Bouquet Kit together and it is so cute!!!

This fun kit comes with all of the materials you will need to create thirteen pretty little flowers and a cute tag to complete the bouquet.  All you'll need is a hot glue gun and a fun vase to put them in.  No vase?  Do what I did...raid your refrigerator and find a jar!  I emptied the remaining salsa from this jar into another container and...Bloomin' Bouquet, Ole!

I did add some of the new Calypso Coral Chevron Ribbon for a little extra flair. What will YOU do with your Bloomin' Bouquet?  Order yours today before supplies run out!

Yippee-Skippee, It's {Mojo} Monday

Carbs, schmarbs...they're why I run!  I love to eat {the cake}!  I cracked up when I saw the Yippee-Skippee stamp set during the online catalog sneak peek and knew I would have to get it for this one stamp alone.  All of the other stamps are super cute and sassy too, but the Carbs, Schmarbs is my favorite!!

I used today's Mojo Monday sketch to get me started...

Supplies Used:
Paper ~ Crumb Cake, Whisper White, Epic Day This and That
Ink ~ Gumball Green, Calypso Coral, Pool Party
Stamp Sets ~ Make a Cake, Yippee-Skippee, March Paper Pumpkin
Other Supplies ~ Chevron Embossing Folder, Circle Framelits, Epic Day This and That Stickers

I'm sending this card to my twin-brain-sister-friend with a funny little "awkward moment" message on the inside.  She may disown me as a friend when she opens it, but I can't help myself ;) Love you friend!

Happy Monday to all and Happy Stamping!

Taking a Break

I've spent a better part of my free time this weekend working on my Convention swaps...I don't know about you, but I get a little crazy when I have to make the same card numerous times!  When I reached that point this morning, I decided to take a little break and pulled out this month's Paper Pumpkin kit.  Still haven't got yours yet?  What are you waiting for...give it a try today!  Visit My Paper Pumpkin and subscribe today!  For just $19.95 per month (plus tax) you will be surprised with a fun and creative kit each month that includes all of your card stock, embellishments and ink. You'll even get an acrylic block your first month.  All you have to provide is your favorite adhesive.  I've yet to be disappointed and I know you won't either!
Here is a look at what was in this month's kit...
Included in this month's kit:
3 ~ Stamps (Hello to you, Chevron and Heart)
4 ~ 5-1/2" x 4-1/2" scored and printed cards
2 ~ Printed, die-cut adhesive backed paper accents
4 ~ White envelopes
1 ~ Soft Suede Ink Spot

You can create your cards just like the sample in the kit, or you can change things up a bit and have some fun...

I added some ribbon to one of mine, splattered another with an aqua painter and turned a couple of them to portrait instead of landscape.
I love the little hexagon punch outs that all you to stamp a little peek-a-boo heart...so cute!
Not only are these kits fun, but they give you great ideas for other creative projects and cards!

Break time is over..back to my swaps :)

Happy Stamping!

Friday, Hi!

Finally Friday...thank goodness!  This has been the first full week of summer break and it's always an adjustment to have all 3 boys home all day.  We had a bit of a scare yesterday when one of my twins, Hunter, got his pinkie finger slammed in a closet door by his little brother, Owen.  Hunter was screaming his fool head off in pain and Aidan, his twin bother, was screaming his fool head off because he was certain Hunter's finger got cut off.  And all Owen could do was look at me and say "uh-oh"...ugh!  After I managed to settle everyone down and made sure Hunter's finger was NOT cut off, I did discover that his finger nail was split in half and was pretty sure the tip of his finger was broken.  I knew there was nothing that could be done for a broken finger tip, but I wasn't sure what to do about the nail, so I called my hubby to see what he thought.  His crew just happened to be in the neighborhood checking fire hydrants, so they stopped by to check it out.  A visit from Daddy at home on the fire truck or ambulance is always a treat, so the hurt finger was quickly wrapped up and splinted and all were happy again.
Needless to say, it was kind of a crazy, stressful afternoon and I was happy to escape to my crafting room last night.  I had a huge mess to clean up after finishing a few projects I had been working on, so I didn't get any stamping done, but I did bright and early this morning.
I combined the Hand Stamped Sentiments sketch challenge with the Friday Mashup challenge...

I was happy to put another new set to use for these challenges!
Supplies Used:
Paper ~ Crumb Cake, Pacific Point, Whisper White, Summer Starfruit, Brights DSP Stack
Ink ~ Summer Starfruit, Pacific Point
Stamp Set ~ Regarding Dahlias
Other Supplies ~ Aqua Painter

It felt good to create such a simple card after wrapping up some more detailed and time consuming projects!  It was fun to use the Triple Time Technique in a bit of a different way.  And I LOVE these colors together!

Here's to hoping for a more uneventful day today and a great weekend for all!  I'm hoping to {finally} get a good start on my Convention swaps this weekend!

Happy Stamping

Chalk Talk Tuesday

The man in brown is due to come knocking at my door this afternoon and will be delivering my Chalk Talk set...but I got my hands on my friends set over the weekend and had some fun playing :)  I can't wait to get my own set and play around with it some more!   I used the color combo from the latest color challenge at Fab Friday.  I LOVE all of the new in colors!
Supplies Used:
Paper ~ Baked Brown Sugar, Whisper White, Pistachio Pudding
Ink ~ Baked Brown Sugar, Pistachio Pudding, Strawberry Slush, Coastal Cabana, Crisp Cantaloupe
Stamp Sets ~ Chalk Talk, Flower Shop, Amazing Family
Other Supplies ~ Pansy Punch, Chalk Talk Framelits, Modern Mosaic Embossing Folder

I tried adding some of the cute In Color Ruffled Stretch Trim, but just couldn't make it work with this card...maybe I'll try again later!

Happy Stamping!

Hello {Mellow} Monday

Good morning stamping friends and Happy Monday!  Um...is there really such thing as a Happy Monday?!?!?  It's not my favorite day of the week, but sometimes it feels like a day of rest after a really busy weekend!  We had a fun, but busy weekend, so I'll gladly take a Mellow Monday today :)

I finally finished up my Inky Fingers Summer Session Guest Designer projects Sunday morning, so I had some time to stamp for fun last night after my kiddos went to bed.  I love the latest color challenge over at Hand Stamped Sentiments...
So, I pulled out a few new stamp sets and inked them up in these fun colors!  I did swap out Baja Breeze for Pool Party.

Supplies Used:
Paper ~ Midnight Muse, Whisper White
Ink ~ Summer Starfruit, Pool Party, Midnight Muse, Primrose Petals
Stamp Sets ~ Tape It, Flower Shop, Four You
Other Supplies ~ Pansy Punch, Aqua Pens (for splatters, which you can't see very well in the picture)

I used the Tape It stamp set for my Inky Fingers Guest Designer cards and I had so much fun with it!  I came up with a couple different ways to use the set and I'm really happy with out all of my projects turned out!  I can't wait to share them with you during the Summer 2013 Session :)

Hoping you all have a Mellow Monday and as always...

Happy Stamping!

Happy Father's Day

Happy Father's Day!!!

I am so blessed to have my dad...he is an amazing man who has taught me so much....a man who has always been there to pick me back up after I've tripped and fell...and he'll always be the first man I fell in love with :) Not only is he an amazing dad, but he's the coolest Grandpa ever!  My boys are so lucky to have the such a close relationship with him (and my mom) and we are ALL so lucky to live right next door to them!
We all love going to the beach and are lucky enough to get to spend at least one week a year together on the Oregon Coast, where the guys spend a better part of their time crabbing.  So, of course I had to make my dad a beach and crabbing themed card...

Supplies Used:
Paper ~ Bermuda Bay, Very Vanilla, Crumb Cake
Ink ~ Bermuda Bay, Crumb Cake, Old Olive, Garden Green, Cajun Craze
Stamp Sets ~ Morning Post Alphabet, By the Seashore, By the Tide
Other Supplies ~ Linen Thread, Brights Buttons, Naturals Buttons

And I can't leave my hubby out on Father's Day!  He has to work today, so we celebrated with him last night and gave him his gift with his card.  Those who know my husband knows that he is an AVID hunter, so I was excited to see the new Walk in the Wild stamp set in the 2013-2014 Annual Catalog.

Supplies Used:
Paper ~ Old Olive, Very Vanilla, Early Espresso Core-dinations
Ink ~ Early Espresso, Old Olive, Crumb Cake
Stamp Set ~ Walk in the Wild
Other Supplies ~ Woodgrain Embossing Folder, Square Framelits, Linen Thread, Naturals Buttons

I'm looking forward to spending the day with my dad and making him a yummy dinner tonight.  We'll head down to the station later today and visit with my hubby too...and maybe even bring him and the rest of his shift a Father's Day treat!

Happy Father's Day and Happy Stamping!

Stylin' Stampin' Squad June 2013 Blog Hop ~ 2013-2014 Annual Catalog Release Party

Hello stamping friends!  If you are just starting the hop...WELCOME!!!  If you just came from Heidi's blog you were treated yet another one of her great creations!  Our hop is a week later this month to allow us a bit more time to get our NEW CATALOG orders...I hope it was worth the wait for all of you.

Not only is today the day we set aside for the Stylin' Stampin' Squad Blog Hop, but it is also the last day of school for my boys.  I always like to send special teacher gifts throughout the year, especially at the end of the school year.  They go to Edison, as in Thomas Edison, and are the "Home of the Shockers".  Their school logo is a light bulb, so the cute new Crazy, Mixed-Up Love set made for a perfect thank you card for their teachers.  Have a look!
I found these cute little light bulb jars at an area craft store a few months ago to use for teacher gifts, but I didn't even think to use this stamp set with it. That is, until I saw a super cute card seen here...my light bulb turned on and I ordered this set right away.  Thanks Mindy!

Supplies Used:
Supplies Used:
Paper ~ Real Red, Whisper White, I Am Me DSP
Ink ~ Real Red, So Saffron, Basic Gray

Happy summer to all you teachers out there...thanks for lighting up our childrens life!
Now hop on over to Diana's page and see what she has for us this month!

    Hello, Lovely..

Happy Tuesday to all of my Stampin' friends...we made it through Monday.  I've been trying to work on some of my Inky Fingers Guest Designer cards, Stylin' Stampin' Squad Blog Hop cards, end of the year teacher gifts and Convention swaps...but I keep getting distracted by other ideas that keep popping into my head when I see a new sketch or color challenge!  So, I've given in to temptation and set some of my other projects aside and had some fun stamping this morning and playing along with the latest Try Stampin' on Tuesday sketch.
    Supplies Used:
Paper ~ Very Vanilla, Night of Navy, Etcetera DSP
Ink ~ Calypso Coral, Night of Navy
    Stamp Set ~ Hello, Lovely
Other Supplies ~ Crochet Trim, Stamp-a-ma-jig

This DSP is so pretty and I love all of the colors in it!!  And this stamp set...the possibilities are endless!  As much as I want to keep playing, I've got to get back on track and get my Stampin' To-Do list under control!

    Happy Stamping!

    Will Travel for Races

Living in a small town, my options for running events are very limited...which means if I want to participate in more than just the little 5K or 10K races here, I have to travel.  And this weekend I did travel to my favorite half marathon race...the Hillsboro Half Marathon.  I ran my very first half 3 years ago at the Hillsboro Half and always said I would go back.  Well, between being pregnant with my youngest and getting back in shape, I didn't make it back until this year, but it was worth the wait.  The course isn't too tough and the scenery is beautiful.  I was hoping to finish in 2 hours, but didn't quite make it...2:10:26.  I'm motivated to push harder in training and shave those extra 10 minutes off my time for next year!

I got the latest Photopolymer stamp set with my last order and it pairs up so well with I Am Me DSP...kind of reminds me of the Sent with Love DSP, which I was so sad to see go.  I visited Fab Friday for a little sketch inspiration...

    and came up with this...

    Supplies Used:
Paper ~ Basic Gray, Whisper White, So Saffron, I Am ME DSP
Ink ~ Real Red, Pool Party
Stamp Sets ~ Dude, You're Welcome & Wanderlust Photopolymer Stamp Set
Other Supplies ~ Hardware Clips Essentials, Circle Punches, Chevron Embossing Folder

I LOVE the colors in this DSP...be watching for more projects with it!!  This was my DSP of choice for the Inky Fingers Club Summer 2013 Session Guest Designer projects, so I've been playing around with it a lot.  Want to see my finished projects in July?!??!  Register NOW for the early bird price of $19.95 and you'll get to see the awesome projects with full tutorials from 14 different Guest Designers during the Summer 2013 Session.  Just be sure to email me brrenwick@charter.net and let me know you've registered...you might just win a prize!

    Happy Stamping!!!

The Early Bird gets the worm

This is so true in so many ways in my life!  I am an early morning riser, up before the sun and getting things done.  Today is no different...I'm up and at 'em, getting ready to "Leave the City Behind" and conquer the Helvatia Half Marathon!  This will be my 4th half marathon, but my first one since I had my last son, almost 2 years ago.  I'm excited, nervous, nauseous....but most of all this Early Bird is ready to run!!!

What else does being an Early Bird do for you?!?!?  Well this weekend if you are one of the first 50 people to register for the Inky Fingers Club 2013 Summer Session Special, you get the Early Bird Discount of $19.95.  What is the Inky Fingers Club 2013 Summer Session you ask?  Well, it's a group of AWESOME Guest Designers who will provide you with over 50 Exclusive Designs including 14 Daily Tutorials with step by step instructions using all NEW Stampin' Up! Products.  There will be daily challenges with prizes, including original artwork from the Guest Designers.  How cool is that?!?!?  So don't wait!  Register this weekend and get your Early Bird Discount!  Be sure to let me know when you register...you could win more prizes!  Send me an email at brrenwick@charter.net

Before I head out the door and get ready to tackle 13.1 miles, I'll leave you with a card...

    Supplies Used:
Paper ~ Basic Black, Very Vanilla, Coastal Cabana, Modern Medley
Ink ~ Coastal Cabana, Jet Black StazOn
Stamp Sets ~ Swallowtail, Papillion Potpourri

Now go on and catch that worm!!!!

    A bad case of Craft-somnia...

The man in brown delivered my box of new goodies late yesterday afternoon, but I no chance to play with anything because we had a wedding to go to.  I was bummed, but knew it would work out that way, so that helped ease the pain ;)  And the wedding was beautiful and my hubby did a great job officiating, so giving up my stamping time was well worth it!  I did get all of my stuff put away when I got home last night, but was too tired to get things out to start any new projects, so I just finished up a card that was waiting for some of the new Ruffled Stretch Trim, which I LOVE!  Well, I should have just stayed up and stamped anyway because I woke up numerous times last night with ideas spinning through my head.  I finally gave up about 4 AM and got up to go for a run with full intentions of having a good hour to stamp before the rest of the gang needed to get up.  Weeeellll...that didn't happen.  I logged into my work system only to find out there were some (more) problems, so I spent my time fixing some of the problems so I could at least accomplish some of my work today.  I'm keeping my fingers crossed that IT can fix the rest of the issues today so I can wrap up my week on a good note.

So, instead of having something brand new to share with you, I have the card that I finished up last night with the new ribbon.  The stamps are from one of the new hostess sets that I got with my pre-order, so it is still technically new...

    Supplies Used:
Paper ~ Crumb Cake, Crisp Cantaloupe
Ink ~ Crisp Cantaloupe, Pistachio Pudding, VersaMark
    Stamp Set ~ Simply Sketched
Other Supplies ~ White Embossing Powder, Pistachio Pudding Ruffled Stretch Trim, Linen Thread, Very Vintage Designer Buttons

Here's to hoping I can find some stamping time tonight!  It's hard to concentrate on work when I know I have a ton of new things just calling my name!!!

    Happy Stamping!

    Wednesday Wedding Muse

Happy Wednesday!!!  This will be a quick post this morning...busy day ahead of me!  Our friend Antonio is getting married tonight and my hubby will be officiating his wedding.  It's going to be beautiful today...perfect day for a wedding!
This week's Muse card by Laurie Willison is so pretty!
It gave me the perfect inspiration for a clean and simple, yet elegant wedding card.
    Supplies Used:
Paper ~ Basic Black, Coastal Cabana, Whisper White
Ink ~ Jet Black StazOn, Coastal Cabana
Stamp Sets ~ Happy Day, Love & Laughter
Other Supplies ~ 1 1/4" Scallop Circle Punch, Rhinestones (colored with black Sharpie) Simply Scoring Tool

This card came together really fast but is so pretty.  I LOVE the new Coastal Cabana In Color, especially with black.

Off to take on the rest of the day!  Looking forward to a fun evening with some great people!

    Happy Stamping!

    Seriously, I REALLY love you

What a Monday!  The IT department did a system upgrade over the weekend at work and thing were...CRAZY today!  All I can say is that I'm happy that I don't work in IT and I am VERY grateful to those who do!
I started on this card early this morning before work with hopes of completing it during my lunch hour, but my lunch hour didn't really happen today.  Oh well...gave me a good excuse to come down to my craft room and un-wind :)
I saw this weeks Retro Sketches sketch and knew right away that I wanted to use some of my This and That Epic Day paper and stickers.  Add the Dude You're Welcome stamp set along with the "Seriously" stamp from April's Paper Pumpkin and you end up with a Seriously Epic card!
    Supplies Used:
Paper ~ Pool Party Core'dinations, Calypso Coral, Whisper White, This and That Epic Day DSP
Ink ~ Crumb Cake, Gumball Green
Stamp Sets ~ Dude You're Welcome, April Paper Pumpkin, Really Good Greetings
Other Supplies ~ Cute Clips, Small Heart, Chevron Embossing Folder, This and That Epic Day Stickers

Yep, pretty sure this DSP is still my favorite!  But that could all change once I get my hands on the new DSP I just ordered from the new catty

Hope you all had a better day than I did and have an even better day tomorrow!

    Happy Stamping!

    Home Run Weekend!

Happy Sunday friends...I hope you are all having a great weekend!  My family has had an amazing weekend...a home run weekend for sure!  My twins ended their baseball season on a high note...they had a great game yesterday :D I always love to see how much their skills improve with each season.  They are super excited to be able to participate in a baseball academy this summer too.  Our day of baseball continued in to last night with the Battle of the Badges Charity Baseball game.  Our local Fire Department and Police Department went head to head in an awesome game!  Tickets were sold out and the stands were FULL...a sight to see for sure!  Those who were rooting for the FD came dressed in red while those supporting the PD came dressed in blue.  All I can say is that it was a sea of RED...GO Fire Department!  Sadly, the FD lost, but it was a well played game and between the two departments over $18K was raised for two local charities.  I am so proud of my hubby for all he did for this event and for playing a great game!
Our family proudly showed our FD support!

Since we had such a fun, baseball-filled day yesterday, I decided to continue on with the baseball theme today and joined the latest Friday Mashup Challenge.  This week's challenge was to create a clean and simple card using the colors of your favorite baseball team.  Living in WA state, of course my favorite team is the Seattle Mariners and I love their team colors.  I needed to get a card made for an upcoming wedding and these colors happen to be pretty darn close to the wedding colors...how perfect!
    Supplies Used:
Paper ~ Smokey Slate, Whisper White
Ink ~ Bermuda Bay, Smokey Slate, Night of Navy
Stamp Sets ~ Mosaic Madness, Love & Laughter
Other Supplies ~ Modern Label Punch, Itty Bitty Shapes, Mosaic Punch, Basic Rhinestones

This card is a CASE from a card I saw a few weeks ago on Stampin' Connection, but I can not remember who made it.  So, if this happens to look like your card...thank you for the inspiration!

This was a fun challenge!  If you haven't joined in the Friday Mashup fun yet, do it today!

Enjoy the rest of your weekend and Happy Stamping!
