Being a Dad is Whiskey Business ~ #TGIFC318

Happy Friday stampers!  I'm sorry for the delay in today's post, especially since it's my Friday as Designer Take Over at TGIF Challenges!  My day got away from me yesterday and I remembered early this morning that I forgot to finish my post for today...welcome to my crazy life!
If you're been following me for a bit, you will know that I LOVE my Stampin' Blends.  They are my favorite coloring medium and what I often reach for when in need of some good ol' quality craft therapy!
With Father's Day coming up, I brought out Whiskey Business and had some fun coloring a couple glasses and decanter.  I used the Daffodil Delight and Cinnamon Cider blends to create the amber whisky color.  A little bit of Pool Party was used for the glasses and ice cubes.
I stamped a few wood planks in the background and layered the drinks on top of a Basic Black Layering Circles die and Mango Melody Tasteful Labels Die, stamped with a few twists of lemon.  A little bit of twine, a few splatters of ink and a heat embossed sentiment completed the card.  I tucked a few black and white strips of Pattern Party behind the card front and pulled it all together on a Cinnamon Cider card base.

Sorry for the short and sweet (and late) post..TGIF, right?!?!  I do hope that you will join along in this weeks challenge and show us your favorite Stampin' Blend techniques and coloring skills!

Happy Stamping!

For the Love of Plants ~ Monday Montage

Hello friends!  Welcome to the Monday Montage Blog Hop!

I have acquired quite the green thumb in the past year, which also means I have acquired SEVERAL house plants in the past year and I love every single one of them.  With that being said, you can only image my excitement when I saw the Bloom Where You're Planted Suite!

I LOVE, LOVE, LOVE that the dies coordinate with the DSP.  And I also love that there are so many other fun images in this DSP that can also be fussy cut.  I sat down one evening last week while we were watching a show and cut out several of the potted plants, which I then turned in to this fun plant scene.  Do you spy the Paper Lattice?  So awesome!  All of these pieces were cut from DSP, with the exception of the adorable macrame plant hanger.
I had more plants left over, so I put them to use on this card for my dear friend who just completed grad school.  She is a fellow plant lover and I knew she would love this card.  The Just Breath sentiment from Many Happenings was perfect!
After creating the fun framed plant scene, I decided it was the perfect graduation gift (along with a plant, of course!) for my sweet friend.  But since I loved it so much, I had to make a second one for myself!

Die-namic Duos ~ Control Freaks May 2021

Welcome to the May edition of the Control Freaks Blog Hop!  This month we are featuring projects created with TWO die sets.  You may have made you way here from the amazing Cindy Elam, or you might just be starting. Either way, be sure to make your way through the entire hop...there are so many Die-namic ideas!
I tend to collect a new hat every time we take a trip, so of course I had to have the Hats Off bundle in the new 2021-2022 Annual Catalog.  This bundle is perfect for just about anyone and for any occasion.  What makes this bundle even better?!?!  Pairing it up with the Mountain Air stamp set and coordinating Majestic Mountain Dies!
I created the mountain scene in the background by stamping the mountains in Misty Moonlight, adding a little Gray Granite and some Evening Evergreen pine trees.  I tucked the Pale Papaya sun (or is it the moon?) behind the mountains and added a couple die-cut trees in shades of Even Evergreen and Soft Succulent.  Then came my favorite part of the card!  The awesome Misty Moonlight die-cut hat with an Evening Evergreen mountain scene. I LOVE THIS HAT!  You will certainly be seeing a lot more of this hat and all of the fun designs that you can add to it. Here's to the next adventure...the perfect sentiment to finish this card off!

Next up is a fun birthday card for that all-business-kind-of-guy in your life.  I didn't think I needed the Well Suited Suite, but once again, after seeing everyone's amazing creations...I HAD to have it!  I love all of the fun patterns in the Well Suited DSP.
I die-cut two ties, then added a couple few more patterns of DSP...because we need to mix ALL of the patterns with this paper!  A little bit of texture was added with the new Checks & Dots embossing folder.  These were all layered on a Night of Navy card base and finished off with a simple "A Happy Birthday to You" sentiment, which was die-cut with my forever-go-to Tasteful Labels dies.  Some cute little die-cut buttons were added for good measure!

Next up is the super creative Melissa DaviesYou are going to love what she has created today!

Thanks for hopping along with us!

Inspiring Friendship ~ #HSSIC364

Hello friends and happy Tuesday! It's always a good feeling to have Monday behind us, right?  Especially when it's followed by an all new Hand Stamped Sentiments Inspiration Challenge!
Aren't these images beautiful?  I love all of the pretty pink colors.  I was inspired to pull out an old favorite, Free as a Bird, with the pretty new Polished Pink ink.
The pretty little birdies were stamped in Memento on Thick Basic White card stock, then colored in a soft Smoky Slate.  The branch they are perched on is colored in Crumb Cake, with Old Olive leaves and Polished Pink blooms.  I outlined the entire image in Pool Party...an old trick I haven't done in a long time.  I love this look!

A few Polished Pink 2021-2023 In Color Jewels and a Polished Pink sentiment were the prefect final touches for a sweet and simple card.
It's always fun to combine some old and new products...it brings new life to those stamp sets!!

I hope you will join us this week and share what you were inspired to create!

Sweet as a Peach ~ #TGIFC316

Happy Friday stampers!  It's time for an all new TGIF Challenges Sketch Challenge and my box of new goodies arrived just in time!
The Sweet as a Peach Bundle was a MUST have for me.  I love all of the beautiful stamped images and coordinating dies.  And the DSP is gorgeous!!
As I was waiting for my box of goodies to arrive, I decided to create a fun background to go along with the sketch.  Using the widest Water Painter brush and the Pale Papaya re-inker, I painted stripes on a piece of Shimmery White card stock. This is such a fun and easy way to create your own DSP!

As soon as I opened up my box, I inked up the juicy peaches in shades of Pale Papaya and Calypso Coral, adding some Pear Pizzazz/Old Olive stems, then added a few Petal Pink blossoms, all hanging from a cut little branch.  You can almost taste how sweet these peaches are!
I love these sweet die cut sentiments, tying in the beautiful Balmy Blue DSP pattern.  These colors are so summery and have me longing for a peach tree in my back yard.  Hmmmm....maybe I need to plant one this weekend!

Thanks for stopping by today!  I hope you have a peachy day!

Just Want To Say Happy Birthday ~ Monday Montage

Hello friends and welcome back to another Monday Montage Blog Hop!  Be sure to make your way through all the stops...you won't want to miss a single project from this amazing group of stampers!

I hope you all had a nice weekend and got to celebrate all of the important moms in your life! I enjoyed a nice brunch with family and friends, followed by some stamping and church.  That's a pretty perfect day for me!

I finally cut in to the beautiful Fine Art Floral DSP!  I've had this package of paper for months and just couldn't bring myself to cut these beautiful sheets of paper...until today!  I love the rich colors and textures in this paper.
I stamped the large flower in Petal Pink, accenting it in Poppy Parade with a Night of Navy center.  The pretty little bundle of blooms were stamped in Bumblebee and tucked behind the large flower.

I cut out "Just Want To Say" from a piece of Basic White, but it kind of blended in.  I glued the letters to a piece of Night of Navy, then fussy cut each word out, creating a Night of Navy shadow.
Happy Birthday was heat embossed on a strip of Night of Navy and a tucked little bit of Well Suited Twine behind the large flower.  A few little Pale Papaya Genial Gems were the final touch!

Now that I've cut into this pack of DSP, I can't wait to make a few more cards with this beautiful paper!

Thanks for stopping by and hopping along with us!  Click on the NEXT button to keep on hopping!

I hope to be back a bit more this week, but I make no promises.  My youngest is going back to school for full days this week for the first time in over a year AND we have 5 baseball games this week.  That makes me tired just typing it!

Cocktails and Tacos

Happy Cinco de Mayo friends!  I don't know about you, but my plan for today certainly calls for cocktails and tacos...because adulting IS hard!

I had fun creating this special birthday card for my Texas BFF.  I am hoping that some day we can enjoy some cocktails and tacos together once again...it's been far too long since we've seen each other!

I created the tasty little taco by using the Layering Circles Dies to cut out a circle.  I folded it (not quite in half) then stuffed it with ground beef (using the scalloped heart from the Heart Punch Pack), some lettuce (Stawberry Builder Punch) and some cheese and salsa (Sprig Punch). I always love some fun punch!

I die cut two "cocktails" from Nothing's Better Than dies, cutting one apart to form the word tacos.  How fun is this?!?!  This bundle is too much fun with all of it's endless possibilities!  I finished the card off with a colorful cocktail and some matching confetti and streamers to match (thanks to the Hey Birthday Chick bundle).

I hope your day is filled with your favorite flavor of tacos (and maybe a cocktail or two!) and a whole lot of Cinco de Mayo fun!

May Day Birthday Flowers ~ HSSCC363

Tuesday's call for an all new Hand Stamped Sentiments Challenge and this week we have some cheerful spring colors for you to create with.

Even the new Annual Catalog is officially live today, I am still having fun with some of the Mini Catalog items before they are gone!  Pretty Perennials is one of my favorite bundles and I am so sad it's not sticking around longer.  I'm going to love on it and use it as much as I can before I have to say good-bye!

These cheerful spring colors and a pop of bold Basic Black work so well together!  I die cut a couple flowers and leaves, adding a little bit of stamped color behind each flower.  I heat embossed the HAPPY sentiment on Basic Black, then fussy cut it out and popped it up on a few dimensionals.
I am a huge fan of all things black and white, so adding a bit of True Love DSP was right up my alley. I love how tearing the edges of paper can add so much to a card! This was a pretty simple card filled with so much happiness!

Thank you for stopping by today!  I hope you will join along in this weeks Hand Stamped Sentiments Color Challenge!
