Hip, Hippo, Hooray!

Happy Tuesday and welcome to an all new Hand Stamped Sentiments Sketch Challenge!

As soon as I saw the Hippest Hippos and coordinating dies in the Sale-a-Bration catalog, I knew I had to have them.  With all of the amazing new products coming in the July-December Mini Catalog, it wasn't hard to earn these for FREE!

I stamped the hippo in Memento, then colored him with my Smoky Slate Stampin' Blends, using the color lifter for a lighter belly.  And a little Petal Pink gave him the perfect sun-kissed cheeks.

The hippos in the stamp set are super cute, but the dies are to die for!!  It's like playing dress up with all of the hippos.  A fun little boat was just what this hip hippo needed for a day of summer fun.  And you can't forget the shades!
I embossed one of the sentiments on Bermuda Bay, cutting the Hips out, along with the Hooray sentiment from Your Biggest Fan.  Some Sweet Sorbet Bakers Twine and  the Painted Texture 3D embossing folder added the perfect summer vibe.

We just wrapped up our first day of my son's District All Star Baseball Tournament, then we all beat the 100 degree heat with an afternoon at the water park.  Baseball and swimming really makes it feel like summer is finally here!

I hope you'll play along with us this week!  We love to see what you create!

Happy Camper Christmas

Welcome to another fun and fabulous TGIF Challenges! This week we are playing with the Tone on Tone technique.

My original plan was to do something along the monochromatic lines, but after unboxing the adorable Trees for Sale stamp set and coordinating Sale-a-Bration Tree Lot Dies, I came up with a new game plan!

I started by creating a Pool Party sky with the Blending Brushes, adding some Pool Party snow flakes.  Next came a wintery Smoky Slate ground, complete with a cute little Smoky Slate pup and paw prints!

The trees were stamped in Granny Apple Green on Granny Apple Green and tucked behind the cutest little Polished Pink camper! And I can't forget the string of lights...all tone on tone, of course.

This was such a fun challenge to use these adorable soon-to-be-available products with!  I can't wait to see what everyone else has in store with this Tone on Tone Technique.

Gnomest Warm Wishes ~ Monday Montage Blog Hop

Welcome to our Monday Montage Blog Hop.  Did you just arrive from the talented Wendy of Wickedly Wonderful Creations or are you just getting started?  Either way, make sure you hop all the way through!
We have yet to even seen some summer weather, so it's kind of hard to think about creating for Christmas.  But these adorable Kindest Gnomes makes it much easier.  I'm not really for full on Christmas, but a cute wintery scene will work!

I love the stamped images that you can color in this stamp set, but the coordinating dies that help build a gnome are pretty darn cute!

I used my Bermuda Bay Stampin' Blends to create a watercolor effect for the gnomes hat. I love the blended look of the trees in the Storybook Gnomes DSP and wanted to create something similar for the hat.

This festive little guy comes together in a hurry with his beard, shoes and nose...along with the hat of course.  I tucked a Wonderful Snowflake behind a piece of cecum to soften things up a bit.  A simple embossed sentiment and a fussy cut tree were all that were needed to complete this card.  I can't wait to showcase this card in my Christmas in July class!

Next up is the happy camper, Cathy of Sugar Shack Designs.  You're going to love what she made!

Flowering Favorite New In Color - Control Freaks Blog Hop

Welcome to this months Control Freaks Blog Hop.  We are sharing our favorite new In-Colors today.  You may have just arrive from the creative Cindy of Hearts Delights Cards or you might just be getting started.  Either way, get ready for a colorful hop!
I love ALL of the new In Colors, so it was a little tricky to decide which one to pick.  After spending a day in my flower garden, I was inspired by some of the blue/purple colors that are slowing beginning to bloom.
I inked up some Happiness Abounds blooms, coloring them with my Orchid Oasis Stampin' Blends.   A little Daffodil Delight centre and some Parakeet Party leaves added just the right amount of color.

Some strips of Orchid Oasis In Color DSP created the perfect background and just a bit of bling was added with some Orchid Oasis Metallic Woven Ribbon, which I pulled apart for some delicate detail.

Next up is the marvelous Melissa of Rubber FUNatics.
Thanks for stopping by today!  I hope you all have a wonderful, sunshine filled week!

Thankful Forest Friends

Happy Friday and welcome to an all new TGIF Challenges Sketch Challenge!  There is nothing better than a fun sketch to get the creative juices flowing, right?!?

I'm still having fun playing with the Happy Forest Friends Suite and this weeks sketch was perfect for a little fussy-cutting-forest-fun!

I fussy cut the bottom of the trees DSP pattern, using the flowers for the center strip of the sketch.  A Sahara Sand Timber 3D embossing folder frame added just the right amount of texture .

I stamped the cute little fox and owl, blending and softening the ink with a Blender Pen.  If you haven't tried this yet, try it soon!  The Blender Pen allows you to create more of a watercolor look with these adorable stamped images!

A simple Thanks sentiment was embossed on Old Olive to complete the card.  No embellishments needed!

I hope you all have a wonderful weekend that includes some time to create with us!

Colorful Care ~ Monday Montage

Hi friends! Welcome to another fabulous Monday Montage Blog Hop!  Check out all of the amazing creations from our even more amazing design team...you won't be disappointed.

After another super rainy weekend, I was drawn to bright and cheerful colors as I decided what to create for today's project.  I reached for the Tea Boutique bundle and had planned to use the Tea Boutique DSP, but switched gears and went with the fun colors of Parakeet Party, Polished Pink and Coastal Cabana.
I love stripes, especially black and white stripes, so a black and white stripe teacup was a no-brainer!
I stamped the leaves in Parakeet Party, along with some Coastal Cabana and Polished Pink flowers tucked into the teacup.  A sweet Polished Pink sentiment and a little Coastal Cabana tea tag tied everything together.  A final pop of color was added with a Crushed Curry lemon wedge.  These colors just make me so happy!

What do you think about the wonky layers?  Do they drive you crazy or do you love them?  I always love some fun, off-set wonky layers of color!

Don't stop here...click on the NEXT button to see the next amazing creation!
