Mystery Supply Challenge

Happy Wednesday friends!  I'm here today with a fun post that some of the fancy SSINK Design Team Members came up...a Mystery Supply Challenge.  We all drew names and had to send our DT member 3 supplies.  We had to use these 3 supplies to create a card for today's post.  I will admit...I was a bit stressed about it, but once I got my supplies from Tonya, I was pretty excited and had fun coming up with something.
These are the 3 supplies she sent to me...
...and this is what I did with them!
My first thought was to use Build a Birthday, but my friend had just found out she was expecting her second baby girl, so I decided to turn the lace trim in to a cute little tutu :-)
Supplies Used:
Paper ~ Watermelon Wonder, Cucumber Crush, Bermuda Bay, Whisper White, Cherry on Top DSP
Ink ~ Watermelon Wonder
Stamp Set ~ Something for Baby, A Dozen Thoughts
Other Supplies ~ Baby's First Framelits, Banner Framelits, 2-1/2" Circle Punch, Bermuda Bay Sequin Trim, Bermuda Bay Bakers Twine, Boho Chic Embossing Folder, 2015-2017 In Color Blossom Accents

This really was a fun challenge and I look forward to doing this again with the SSINK Design Team!  Be sure to check out the rest of the teams creations and click on their individual blogs to see what 3 supplies they received.

Happy Stamping!

Two for Tuesday

Hi friends!  I feel like I've been in a stamping slump the past week or so.  All I've been able to manage is CASE'ing cards and have not been able to come up with anything on my own.  Ever have that problem?  Well, I think I may have pulled myself out of that slump a little bit today, thanks to the latest challenges over at The Friday Mashup and Hand Stamped Sentiments.  The Friday Mashup Challenge is to create a monochromatic project using Baker's Twine...I HEART Baker's Twine!  This is the sketch that HSS has for us...
And this is what I came up with...
Supplies Used:
Paper ~ Crisp Cantaloupe, Calypso Coral, Very Vanilla
Ink ~ Crisp Cantaloupe, Calypso Coral
Stamp Sets ~ Blooming with Kindness, Sassy Salutations
Other Supplies ~ Window Frame Framelits, Modern Mosaic Embossing Folder, Calypso Coral Ruffled Ribbon, Calypso Coral Bakers Twine, Very Vintage Designer Buttons

I started this card out with just a plain sheet of the Calypso Coral paper, but it was too flat and boring.  I tried using a few different embossing folders, but didn't like how any of them looked either.  In trying to stay with the monochromatic idea, I didn't want to use any DSP, so...I ended up stamping the flower all over and I like how it turned out.  Still simple, but not too boring!

Hopefully this is the end to my current stamping slump!  Going to go see what else I can create today :)

Happy Stamping!

Greatful Heart

This week has reminded me just how much we have to be thankful and grateful for!  November is the month where everyone always expressed just how thankful they are for everything, and I think that is wonderful!  But November isn't the only time of year we have to be thankful...be thankful all year long!

The Paper Players has a great theme challenge this week, Give Thanks, which is very fitting for feeling so thankful.  And the beautiful color challenge over at Hand Stamped Sentiments gave me just the inspiration I needed!

Supplies Used:
Paper ~ Very Vanilla
Ink ~ Early Espresso, More Mustard, Old Olive, Elegant Eggplant
Stamp Sets ~ Blooming with Kindness and French Foliage

I love how well these two sets come together...simple beauty :)

Off I go to my monthly staff meeting.  It's the one time a month I get to see my co-workers :)  I love everyone I work with, but I am so very thankful and grateful that I get to work from home!

Happy Friday and Happy Stamping!

Blooming Birthday

Earlier this week my mom's friend Shanna had a birthday...and of course my mom asked me to make her a card.  The first thing I thought of was Blooming with Kindness and shades of pink!  When ever I think of Shanna, I think of beautiful flowers and simple class.  Here's a look at how I turned that into a card...

I just love the flower stamp from this set!  So beautiful! And I love how it turned out on the First Edition DSP...subtle beauty.

Supplies Used:
Paper ~ Crumb Cake, Calypso Coral, First Edition Specialty DSP
Ink ~ Calypso Coral
Stamp Sets ~ Blooming with Kindness, Pursuit of Happiness
Other Supplies ~ Calypso Coral Ruffled Ribbon

And notice the stamped envelope...I never send out a naked envelope :)

I had started out stamping the flower on some Very Vanilla, but it didn't work for the card above. BUT...I made it work for this card:

Two card with two different looks just by using different paper...don't you love doing that?

Tonight is Stamp Club...yay!  Looking forward to seeing all of my stamping friends and enjoying some adult conversation!

Happy Stamping!
