One Amazing Moment

Hello stamping friends!  It's been a few days since I've posted.  I've been enjoying my last few days of my summer break and I am savoring every moment!  I've had such a great summer with my family and I'm not quite ready for it to end, but I do love my job and miss my work family!
While I enjoy this last week of my break, I want to share some cards I made for my boys to celebrate a very special moment in our lives.  This past Sunday, our church, formally called New Joy Foursquare, became Moment Church.  To celebrate the launch of the new name, the church rented out our local pool.  It was such a fun night having everyone together!  But the best moment of the evening was when over 40 people were baptized, including myself and my boys.  My heart is still so full of emotions today and will be for the rest of my life.
The Brick & Mortar 3D embossing folder was the perfect background for this card...a firm foundation.  And I love the added touch from the little crosses from the Cross of Hope dies.  I used my Silhouette to cut out the letters, which my boys thought was pretty awesome!
Supplies Used:
Paper ~ Basic Black, Whisper White
Other ~ Brick & Mortar 3D Embossing Folder, Cross of Hope Dies

Be watching for a new scrapbook page to be coming soon!  We got some amazing pictures of our beautiful moment!

Have a terrific day!

Happy Stamping!

Hello Butterflies

Happy Monday friends!  I hope you all had a fantastic weekend!  And I hope you found a little time to stamp!  I know this time of year, as the weather starts to get nicer, I want to spend more and more time outside.  But, I always make time for stamping...it helps me keep my sanity!

It's the second Monday of the month, so that means it's time for a new sketch challenge over at Stylin' Stampin' INKspiration.

Once again, I pulled out my Silhouette and cut out this fun "Hello" sentiment...I'm really starting to love this tool!

Ink ~ Calypso Coral
Stamp Sets ~ Oh Hello (chevron), March Paper Pumpkin (polka dots)

I've got a busy day ahead of me, so I'm keeping this short and sweet!

Hybrid Hello ~ Monday Montage

Hello and welcome to our Monday Montage Blog Hop!  This group of ten talented stampers have some fabulous projects to share with you this week, so be sure to hop all the way through so you don't miss anything!

I've been trying to use MDS and my e-cutter a bit more...I will admit, I was a bit intimated by all of it at first, but the more I play, the more I love it!   My creation today is a hybrid card.  I stamped the images, but the "Hello" sentiment was imported from MDS to my Silhouette and cut...LOVE!
Supplies Used:
Paper ~ Perfect Plum, Whisper White, Gold Foil
Stamp Sets ~ Happy Watercolor, Simple Stems, Beautiful Today (MDS)
Ink ~ Metallic Gold, Whisteria Wonder, Elegant Eggplant
Other Supplies ~ Itty Bitty Punch Pack (circle), Gold Sequin Trim, Silhouette Cameo e-cutter, MDS

This didn't turn out quite as I had pictured in my head (how often does that happen to you?!??!), but I still kind of like it :-)  It certainly is fun to be able to add some different elements to your projects when you break out the MDS and e-cutter!  To those of you who are afraid to take the leap, don't be!  Jump in and have some fun!

Now it's time to hop on over to Cathy's creation for today...you're sure to love it!  Or if you prefer to hop backwards, you can head on back to Amy's project...she inspires me each and every week!  Either way, just make sure you make the whole loop and don't miss any of us.  And don't forget to leave us some love on our blogs...we love hearing from you!

Thanks for hopping along with us today!

Happy Stamping!

There's a Birthday in the {Fire} House

Hi Stampin' Friends and Happy Saturday!  It's a gloomy, rainy day here...boo!  Now that our snow is all gone, I am officially ready for spring, sunshine and warm weather!  My day has already been packed full of cleaning, grocery shopping and laundry.  We'll soon be off to a soccer game, followed by a night out at the annual crab fee....yummy!  We'll be joining a group of my hubby's co-workers, which will guarantee a fun night for all!  One of the guys, and a very good friend of ours, from his shift has a birthday today, so I of course had to make him a card.  I found this cute punch art fire hydrant by Andi at Absolute Kreations card a while back on Pinterest and tucked it away in one of my folders because I knew I would use it some day.   Be sure to check out the link for Andi's site for her awesome instructions for the hydrant.
I decided I wanted the fire hydrant to look a little antiqued, so I crumpled all of the pieces up, smoothed them back out and sponged them a little with some silver ink.
Supplies Used:
Paper ~ Real Red, Pumpkin Pie, Whisper White, Silver Foil
Ink ~ Basic Black, Metallic Silver
Stamp Sets ~ Teeny Tiny Wishes, Designer Type Photopolymer (sold out)
Other Supplies ~ Large Oval Punch, 1" Circle Punch, 1-1/4" Circle Punch, Word Window Punch, Diamond Plate Embossing Folder (Cuddlebug) Silhouette Cameo (Maltese Cross)

I was worried that this would be a bit to juvenile for our friend, but my hubby thought it was awesome and asked if I would make a stack of these cards for all of the guys at his department!  Guess it will be ok :-)

As much as I would love to stay in and play in my craft room all day, it's time to get ready for the soccer game!  There's always tomorrow!

Happy Stamping!

My Dad, My Anchor ~ Monday Montage

Hello and welcome back to Monday Montage!  Did you miss us?!?!  Our talented group took a short break to enjoy the holiday season with our families and friends, but we are back with some awesome projects to share with you today!

Today happens to be my Daddy's 60th Birthday and I am happy to say I am finally wrapping up a project I've been talking about making for him for the past 2, maybe 3 years.  I just kept putting it off...for no good reason.  But I set a goal for myself ('tis the season, right?) to use my silhouette more, and this project was the perfect one to break it out again.  Keep in mind this project isn't totally finished...
...I'm still waiting to get some pictures back to hang on the handle of the oar.  This oar came from our boat, which we lost last fall in our wreck :(  My dad, hubby and boys had lots of fun crabbing trips in that boat, so this oar is a bit more special now that it is gone.  I used my Silhouette to cut out the Crabbin' Crew letters as well as the anchor.  The other images were created in MDS and fussy cut.  As soon as I completely finish the project I will post a picture for you to see!

You can't give a birthday gift without a birthday card, right?  Keeping up with the anchor theme, which is fitting because my dad is my anchor, I cut out another anchor for his card.  I LOVE the new High Tide DSP, in case you didn't notice ;-)
Supplies Used:

Paper ~ Smoky Slate, Real Red, High Tide DSP, Fresh Prints DSP
Ink ~ VersaMark
Stamp Sets ~ Remembering Your Birthday
Other Supplies ~ Silver Bakers Twine, Whisper White Embossing Powder, Mini Silver Brads, Silhouette e-cutter

Happy Birthday to the best Daddy a girl could ever ask for!

Next up is the always creative Cathy with her project for today or if you prefer to hop backwards, you can head on back to the awesome creation by Amy ...either way, just make sure you make the whole loop and don't miss any of us.  And don't forget to leave us some love on our blogs...we love hearing from you!

Thanks for hopping along with us today!

For My Sk8er Boys

Happy Thursday friends!  Today is an extra special day...it's my babies birthday!  8 years ago today, in the very early hours of the morning, I became a momma for the very first time and felt a love like no other when I first saw these sweet little men.  It is so hard to believe just eight short years ago they were small enough to fit inside their stockings.
Look at them now!

I can not be more proud of these two boys and the young men they are growing up to be!  They test my patience and drive me bonkers some days, but at the end of each day when we are snuggled up watching a show or reading before bed, all of those crazy moments are erased from my mind and my heart is bursting with love.  Ok, I've to got to stop because I'm going to start crying...again!  Happens every year :)
As you can see they love their skateboards, so I just had to make them a skateboard birthday card.  I'm getting a little more brave with my Silhouette, so I thought I would pull a few MDS images over and cut them out.  Thank you to all who post YouTube tutorials...you save me every single time I pull my Silhouette out!

Supplies Used:
Paper ~ Basic Gray, Whisper White, Kaleidoscope DSP*
Ink ~ Basic Gray, Smoky Slate, Bermuda Bay
Stamp Set ~ Gorgeous Grunge
Other Supplies ~ Neutrals Candy Dots, On Film Framelits*, MDS/Silhouette
*2014 Occasions Catalog available 1/3/14

Every year I tell myself I'm going to make them totally different birthday cards, but in the end I always end up making them one that is the same, but just a bit different.  It's a twin thing ;)  And it saves me from what ever argument may come out of them receiving different cards ;)

Time to get the birthday boys out of bed and ready for school.  I've got a special birthday breakfast planned for them, along with a few other surprises during the day!

Happy Stamping!
