Everybody Loves Sweet Lou

Hi stamping friends and welcome to a new week...stars and stripes week!  I love the 4th of July!  I'm looking forward to the upcoming weekend...family, fireworks and fun!  Being that it is the 4th of July week, I'm planning on having some fun with stars and strips all week!
I'm kicking off the week with a new MDS layout...I've missed playing in MDS and I am happy to have a new page to add to our Family Yearbook.  Last week my older boys participated in the Walla Walla Sweets Baseball Camp and loved every single minute of it!  They each had their picture taken with the team mascot, Sweet Lou, or Onion Guy, as my little guy calls him :-)
MDS Supplies Used:
Paper ~ Summer Possibilities DSP
Ink ~ Night of Navy, Real Red, Smoky Slate
Stamp Sets ~ Extreme Elements, Great Sport, Game Day Baseball
Fonts ~ Arial Black, Throw My Hands Up

I enlarged the stars image from the Extreme Elements stamp brush set and cropped it for the bigger blue star.  I resized the same stamp to create the stars in the background.  I love being able to use one stamp in different ways in MDS!

Thanks for dropping by today!  Be sure to come back tomorrow and see what I have in store for you!

Happy Stamping!

Hello friends and hello weekend! It's our second weekend at home where we don't have a billion different things going on and this makes me happy!  I got in a run early this morning and some time in my craft room before my kiddos woke up...this makes me happy too :-)
I got my sparkle on this morning with some crafty inspiration from Friday Mashup...I mashed up some sequins with the fun new "hello" stamp from the Hi There stamp set...

Ink ~ Crisp Cantaloupe
Stamp Sets ~ Hi There, Dotty Angles

Enjoy the Adventure

Hooray!!  We made it to Friday!  It has been one crazy week for me...how about you?  I think my subconscious must have been telling me something when I decided to create a card each day using the Life's Adventure stamp set, because we have had one heck of an adventurous week!  Between running my boys to and from baseball game and going into work for interviews, I feel like I've spent most of my time in my car this week.
Yesterday was my day off (if you don't count having to go in for another interview) and my boys were itching to go to the bike and skate track.  So after the little man got up from his nap, we all loaded up in the truck and headed to the track, only to find the skate track FULL of older kids, which kind of intimidated my twins.  We decided to check out the other skate park on the other side of town, even though it didn't have a bike track for my little dude, and found it to be nearly empty...score!  The big boys were having a blast riding their scooters, the dog was happily chasing her ball and the little dude was happy to ride his bike around the ball fields.  After a bit, my youngest decided he wanted to go watch his brothers ride their scooters.  It all went downhill from there...and in a hurry!  My little man has NO FEAR and decided to run up one of the ramps, not realizing that the concrete is very smooth, slipped and split his chin wide open!  Needless to say, our trip to the skate park came to an end :-(  We all loaded up and headed to the fire station so my hubby could bandage him up...thank goodness it wasn't deep enough to warrant stitches.  My twins were a bit upset that we had to end our visit to the skate park, but we made it up to them with a trip to our favorite fro-yo place after dinner.  Our lives are ALWAYS an adventure!
I'm wrapping up the week with a card that seems pretty fitting for our adventure yesterday and playing a long with a couple of my favorite challenges!  The sketch comes from Freshly Made Sketches and the color combo comes from Colour Me!
Supplies Used:
Paper ~ Chocolate Chip, Whisper White, Tempting Turquoise, Sweet Taffy, Confetti Celebration
Ink ~ JetBlack StazOn, Tempting Turquoise, Daffodil Delight, Chocolate Chip, Pistachio Pudding
Stamp Set ~ Life's Adventure, Dotty Angles
Other Supplies ~ Essentials Hardware Clips, Pistachio Pudding Thick Bakers Twine

Are you wondering where the fun little polka dots came from?  A pencil eraser!  I felt like there was just too much empty white space and didn't have any Candy Dots to add, but I had my pencil sitting next to my workspace, grabbed it, inked it up and added a little extra color!

I hope you've all enjoyed my {Life's} Adventure week!  It's been fun for me to focus on just on stamp set.  I might give it a try again next week with another new set!

Happy Stamping!

Welcome Home

Do you remember when you got your first place, all on your own?   Whether it was your first time being out on your own or purchasing your first home...such a scary and exciting time!  A friend and fellow stamper has a daughter who just moved in to her own place and asked some of us to send her some Happy Mail to welcome her to her new home...what a fun idea!
I'm still playing with Life's Adventures and the cute little house was prefect for a new home card.  Add a little MDS and e-cutter magic and voila!
Supplies Used:
Paper ~ Mossy Meadow, Whisper White, Strawberry Slush, Daffodil Delight, Pistachio Pudding, All Abloom
Ink ~ Tuxedo Black Memento Ink, Mossy Meadow, Pistachio Pudding, Daffodil Delight Blendabilities
Stamp Set ~ Life's Adventure, Love This (MDS)
Other Supplies ~ Square Framelits, Mossy Meadow Stitched Satin Ribbon, Itty Bitty Accents Punch, Rhinestone Basics, Silhouette e-cutter

I love what MDS and my e-cutter can add to a card...the "home" stamp was the perfect addition!

Rainy Day

Happy Wednesday friends!  We have a cloudy day here today, but no rain...yet!  Even on the sunniest day, we can sometimes have a rainy day...and it's ok.  Everyone has a rainy day :-)
I'm still playing with this cute Life's Adventure hostess stamp set and I love it!  So many cute images that are just begging to be colored.  And who doesn't love coloring?!?!  Especially with the new Blendabilities, which you will all be able to get your hands on soon!
Supplies Used:
Paper ~ Lost Lagoon, Hello Honey, Whisper White, Moonlight DSP
Ink ~ Lost Lagoon, Hello Honey, Tuxedo Black Memento, Pumpkin Pie Blendabilities
Stamp Set ~ Life's Adventures
Other Supplies ~ Hello Honey and Lost Lagoon Stitched Satin Ribbon, Whisper White Bakers Twine, Essentials Hardware Clips, Starburst Framelits, Word Bubbles Framelits, 1-3/4" Circle Punch, Crystal Effects

It's a little hard to see in the picture, but I filled in some of the raindrops with Crystal Effects...I don't use this often enough!  I love how it makes those raindrops pop off the paper a little.

Hope you don't have any rain today, but if you do, it's ok...Everyone has a rainy day!

Happy Stamping!

Monday's {Life} Adventure

Happy Monday friends!  Call me crazy, but I kinda like Mondays...a time to start fresh and make plans for an adventurous week!  School may be out for my kiddos, but that doesn't mean things have slowed down.  They have baseball camp this week, so I'll be busy shuttling them back and forth during my breaks at work.  And our evenings will be filled with getting our back yard ready for grass...we live an adventured filled life :-)
Speaking of adventures, I love the new Life's Adventure hostess stamp set!  I just got it last week and grabbed it this morning since it had not made it's way into my stamp drawer yet.  (Maybe I need to leave all of my new stamps out like that so they get used!  HA!)  I started out with a totally different design in my head for this card, but it kept changing as I went...so I just went with it and came up with this...
I was inspired by Jane's Watercolor 101 on the Stampin' Up! blog...she's so fancy!  Be sure to check out her post for some fun {and fancy} watercolor techniques!  I ran out of watercolor paper, so I used Kimberly's filter paper embossing technique...she's another fancy lady!  Thanks for sharing your tips and tricks ladies!

Supplies Used:
Paper ~ Coastal Cabana, Hello Honey, Whisper White, Filter Paper
Ink ~ Coastal Cabana, Hello Honey, Tuxedo Black Memento Ink , Coastal Cabana and Daffodil Delight Blendabilities
Other Supplies ~ Large Polka Dot Embossing Folder, Coastal Cabana Thick Baker's Twine, Essentials Hardware Clips

Time to take advantage of some quiet time and crank out some work...wish I was stamping, but I've gotta be able to pay for new goodies, right?  Hope you have a fun and adventurous week!

Happy Stamping!

Be YOU {tiful} Friend

Happy Friday friends!  Where did this week go?!?!  It seems like Monday was  just yesterday...gotta love when the week days fly by :-)  I started my summer work schedule this week and have Thursdays off until my kiddos go back to school.  I am very lucky and blessed that my boss is such a kind hearted man and allows me to work this schedule, which allows me a little more time to have fun with my boys.
Since I didn't have to work yesterday, I was able to take advantage of some early morning stamping while everyone else slept...yay! I got two of my Convention card swaps designed and made a couple of other fun cards too.  I'm still lovin' Flower Patch and inked it up again.

Ready....Set...STRIKE!

Hi friends!  Here we are, back at Monday again!  I hope you all had a fantastic weekend and had some good quality family time, especially if your time was spent with your dad!
Today is the first Monday of summer break and our first night of having nothing to do.  No baseball practice or game, no classes...just a full night at home.  My boys are already asking "what are we going to do tonight?"  I guess it's a good thing they do well with being busy, 'cause that's the story of our life most days!
Baseball may be over for the season, but it continues to be our favorite pastime all year long.  My twins had a great season and became quite the dynamic duo...one is a pitcher and one is a catcher.  Being able to practice ALL the time together has really paid off for them.  Today's sketch over at Stylin' Stampin' INKspiration inspired me to give the whole Project Life thing a shot and put together a page of Aidan's big debut on the pitchers mound.
MDS Supplies Used:
Background Paper ~ Crumb Cake
Stamp Sets ~ Decorative Overlays Chevron 2, Game Day Baseball, Everyday Adventure Project Life
Other Supplies ~ Everyday Adventure Project Life Pocket Cards

I'll admit, I was a little intimidated by Project Life at first, but they more I play around with it, the more I like it :)

Be sure to check out the rest of the amazing pages our design team has to share with you today!  We are sure to INKspire you to CREATE something...just don't forget to share it with us!

Happy Stamping!!

If a link doesn't work or you get off track, you will find the full blog hop lineup below.

I could not WAIT to order the new Photopolymer Flower Patch Stamp Set!  I'm not a huge flower fan, but this set is just so much fun.  And the fact that there are matching framelits makes it that much better!
I found these cute little vases a while back at a local craft store and they have been sitting, empty in my living room.  My son Aidan has been bugging me for WEEKS to make some flowers to put in them and was so happy to "FINALLY" {as he told me yesterday} see them filled!
These flowers were made by stamping the images on Filter Paper and placing them on floral wire.  I stamped each image 4 times to create a fuller flower.  I wasn't sure how well they would turn out, but I was pretty happy with the end result.  I'm embarrassed to say that this is only the second time I've ever used the Filter Paper, but you can bet I'll be using it more!

The two cards I made are CASE's from page 155 in the new catalog.  I love the color combo and the Kraft paper!

Supplies Used for Flowers:
Paper ~ Filter Paper
Ink ~ Coastal Cabana, Bermuda Bay, Blushing Bride, Crisp Cantaloupe, , Calypso Coral, Tangelo Twist, Island Indigo

World Traveler

Hello friends and happy Sunday!  I hope you have all had a great weekend so far...I know I have!  We had a day FILLED with baseball yesterday...awesome game for my twins in the afternoon and an even better Battle of the Badges (fire vs police) game last night.  I'm happy to report Fire kicked some Police booty and took home the trophy :-)  Be sure to check back later this week for a new MDS page dedicated to the big game!
Today I'm sharing a card that makes me want to pack my bags and travel the world.  Life is short...make it an adventure!  I can home school my kids while we travel, right?!?
I used some of the yummy new In-Colors for this card...I love the richness of them!  And the new Stitched Satin Ribbon is b-e-a-u-tiful!
Supplies Used:
Paper ~ Mossy Meadow, Lost Lagoon, Baked Brown Sugar, Whisper White
Ink ~ Jet Black StazOn, Hello Honey, Lost Lagoon, Mossy Meadow
Stamps ~ World Map, Traveler, Starburst Sayings
Other Supplies ~ Starburst Framelits, Project Life Corner Punch, Mossy Meadow Stitched Satin Ribbon, Baked Brown Sugar Thick Baker's Twine

I recruited a little help from my hubby in tying the sailors knot...he's the king of knots at the fire station!  His skills made my world a better place :-)

Don't forget, tomorrow the NEW catalog goes live and you can order these yummy new In-Color products and EVERYTHING else on your wish list!!!
