Fab Friday Mashup

It's Friday night...the big boys are sleeping over at Grandma & Grandpa's, the little man is sound asleep, my hubby is working a 72 hour shift and I'm in my pj's catching up on my favorite shows (Nashville, Smash and Chicago Fire) and playing with some new stampin' goodies!  I'm in my happy place :D I ordered the new This and That bundle and it was finally delivered today...hooray for new stuff!!!  I have a new favorite DSP...This and That Epic Day.  It's AWESOME!!!  It all has a very distressed look, fun patterns and the colors are amazing!  I could not wait to tear into this package of paper and play.  And I was so excited to bring my gumball green paper and ink back out...it's been a bit ignored since the Christmas season.
This weeks challenge over at The Friday Mashup was made for This and That Epic Day DSP...lined paper and a distressed appearance.  Add to it the awesome sketch from Fab Friday and I came up with this:
Supplies Used:
Paper ~ Gumball Green, This and That Epic Day DSP
Ink ~ Gumball Green, VersaMark
Stamp Set ~ Paper Pumpkin
Other Supplies ~ Pop-Up Posies Kit (tag and brad), Pool Party Ruffled Ribbon, Gumball Green Stitched Satin Ribbon, Pool Party Embossing Powder, 1 3/4" Scallop Circle

I punched out a few different patterns from the DSP to create the flower...here's a close up of the flower and a better shot of the embossed sentiment:

Again, I love, love, LOVE this DSP...you are sure to see a lot more of it over the next few days I'm sure ;)  But for now, I must finish up the last of my Easter projects for my kiddos.  Going to take advantage of my hubby being gone and get in a few nights of late night crafting!

{Easter} Basket Case

A few days ago I saw the cutest card created by Linda from Stamp at Linda's, and I just had to CASE it!

When the rain is done...

...out comes the sun!
This was the story of my day!  The skies opened up this morning just as I got home from my run and poured for a good hour.  After a few more hours of clouds, the sun finally popped out!  Warm weather is on it's way, just in time for Easter weekend :)
Today's weather inspired me to pull out my Bootiful Occasions stamp set and have some fun!  With some sketch help from the great ladies over at Hand Stamped Sentiments and a fun framelits idea from Mindy Backes, I created this:
Supplies Used:
Paper ~ Marina Mist, Whisper White, Sunshine & Sprinkles
Ink ~ Marina Mist, Daffodil Delight
Stamp Sets ~ Bootiful Occasions, Sunshine (single stamp)
Other Supplies ~ Ovals Collection Framelits, Labels Collection Framelits, Daffodil Delight Stitched Ribbon, Modern Label Punch, 1/2" Circle Punch

I used the cute little sunshine from the "You" in the Sunshine stamp...love it!  And I love this DSP...coordinates so well with this cute boot stamp.

I hope any clouds you had today turned into sunshine and made your day!

Off to watch my kiddos race their grand prix cars.  They worked on them all weekend and are so proud of their work.  I'm pretty darn proud of them too :)

Easter Treats for my Sweets

Pssstt....did you know the Easter Bunny will soon be here?  I sure do!  My kiddos have reminded me of this almost every day for the past week.  I love that they still get excited for holidays like this and I cherish these times!  And I love the fact that they believe that Santa Claus and the Easter Bunny have hired me to help with the crafty side of things too!  Makes it so much easier to give fun little gifts that I love to create...like these:
Supplies Used:
Paper ~ Certainly Celery, Pool Party, Wisteria Wonder, Pink Pirouette, Rose Red
Stamp Set ~ Everybunny
Ink ~ Jet Black StazOn, Stampin' Write Markers: Crumb Cake, Daffodil Delight, Certainly Celery, Pool Party, Wisteria Wonder, Pink Pirouette, So Saffron, Pumpkin Pie

Sunday Blessings

Beautiful blue skies, sunshine and TobyMac powered me through a run this morning...what set out to be a short run, turned into an almost 7 mile run!  I love days like this where I can get lost in the power of music and escape my stress and troubles with each passing mile.  This morning as I ran I reflected on just how blessed my life is...healthy and loving family, amazing friends, a job that I love (most days), a roof over our heads and food on the table...BLESSED!  I hope your life is just as full of blessings (big or small)!
I have been working on some projects for upcoming classes, but decided to take a little break and create a card for the latest Fab Friday challenge.  This time around the great design team has a color challenge...
I love the softness of these colors...so pretty!  I CASE'd this card from Pinterest, but I must have forgot to pin it because when I went to look for it to give proper credit, I can't find it :(  So, if this card looks familiar to you, it was a beautiful card and thank you for sharing!
Supplies Used:
Paper ~ Sahara Sand, Calypso Coral, Very Vanilla, Pink Pirouette, Lucky Limeade, 2011-2013 In Color DSP, Tea for Two DSP
Ink ~ Sahara Sand, Lucky Limeade, Pink Pirouette, Calypso Coral

March Club Swap

Earlier in the month, I asked some of my monthly Club Members if they would like to participate in a monthly card swap and few of them jumped on the opportunity!  It was decided that each month one of the participants would choose a sketch and a color combo (created by them or selected from a challenge site).
I kicked off the first month with a simple sketch I created using MDS.
And the color combo came from a past ColourQ Challenge...
The participants can choose to use all the colors or just a few...it's up to them!
Here's what we all came up with:
Bree ~ Craft-somnia Momma

Erica

Melissa ~ Crazy Paper Freak

Amanda
And coming soon a creation by Katie at Sweet n Spiffy

It was so much fun to see everyones take on the sketch and how they used the color combo!  There may be a few more joining us next month, so be sure to check back!

Until then...

Happy Stamping!!!

Perfect As You

It's Wednesday!!!  Half way through the week AND the first day of Spring!  I don't know about the weather in your neck of the woods, but it does NOT look like Spring here today.  We had snow in the wee hours of the morning, then rain, then hail, then wind...now the sun is trying to peek through.  Maybe this was Mother Natures way of clearing out the last bit of winter...
Wednesday also means a new sketch at Freshly Made Sketches.  Jen M has a great sketch for all of us!

And yes, I have another card using some Sale-A-Bration items!

Supplies Used:
Paper ~ Crumb Cake, Whisper White, Pool Party, Summer Starfruit, Sycamore Street DSP
Ink ~ VersaMark
Stamp Set ~ Vintage Verses
Other Supplies ~ Pool Party Embossing Powder, Sycamore Street Ribbon & Buttons (Pool Party), Window Frame Framelits, Large Scallop Edgelit, Essentials and Festive Paper Piercing Pack

This card quickly found it's way to a co-worker who had surgery yesterday.  I first thought of this sentiment as for a birthday only, but I think it can also be used for a "just because" card as well.  I hope it brightens her day!

Hope Spring has sprung in your neck of the woods!

Happy Spring and Happy Stamping!

Sexy at 60

As promised, I'm back today with my MDS birthday invite and birthday gift for my father-in-law.  He will turn 60 on Wednesday, but we are celebrating tonight with a big surprise party!  I was honored that my mother-in-law asked me to make the invitations for this party and had so much fun doing so!  A couple years ago my FIL dressed up as an old lady for Halloween and someone was lucky enough to get a picture of him.  I created a postcard style invite...here's a look at the front of it:
This is the digital version, so you don't see the cute lipstick stamp that I used after I got them back from being printed.  And I just realized that I didn't grab a copy of the invite with the lipstick on it to put in the man bouquet either...oh well!
This bouquet was so much fun putting together and so easy to do!  Thanks to my BFF-Twin Brain-Sister Friend Erica's husband for getting me all of these little bottles of booze :)  Along with the bottles are a few different gift certificates to our downtown pizza shop, a cupcake shop and a candy store...perfect for the man who loves to have his grand kids come meet him for a sweet treat sometimes :)

Thanks to the help of MDS2, I was able to create something fun and it was oh-so-easy.  If you haven't tried MDS2 yet, you can try it for free for 30 days. It is so easy to do and there are so many YouTube tutorials available to help along the way. Visit my Online Store today and get started with your 30 day FREE trial...you won't regret it!
The gift card holders were created using both MDS2, stamp sets and punches.  When I have a bit more time, I'll come back and edit this with the supply list :)
Now I'm off to a baby shower and then it's time to get ready for the BIG party tonight!
Happy Birthday Allan!!!

And Happy Stamping to all of you!!!

Dapper Father-in-Law

We will be celebrating my father-in-law's 60th birthday tomorrow night with a huge surprise party.  We have family coming from out of town and lots of local family and friends who will be joining us, so it is guaranteed to be a fun night!  I just hope he really is surprised and the secret hasn't slipped out ;)
When I saw the Dapper Dad stamp set in the Spring Catalog, I immediately thought of my father-in-law.  So, of course I had to get it and I finally got to put it to use to make his birthday card.  With a little sketch help from Freshly Made Sketches, here's what I came up with:
Supplies Used:
Paper ~ Crumb Cake, Not Quite Navy, Very Vanilla, Parker's Patterns DSP
Ink ~ Crumb Cake, Early Espresso
Stamp Set ~ Dapper Dad
Other Supplies ~ Natural Trim Ribbon, Linen Thread, Silver Basics Designer Buttons, Soda Pop Tops, Crystal Effects, Argyle Embossing Folder, Stampin' Distress Tool

Adding the Crystal Effects to the watch face really makes it look like a watch...so cool!  And I LOVE the Soda Pop Tops and really, really, REALLY hope they carry over into the new catalog!  There are so many fun things you can do with them.

Visit my blog again tomorrow to see the fun invite I made for surprise party and the "Man Bouquet"!

Love this little elephant

Sale-A-Bration is almost over and I'm a little sad we can't stretch it out just a little bit longer.  All of the FREE items that are available this year are so much fun, especially the cute little elephant from the Patterned Occasions set!
The pretty spring colors in the latest Hand Stamped Sentiments Color Challenge got me excited to dig out some of my {hoarded} Floral District DSP.

I stared out using the pattern with just the 3 colors in the challenge, but it wasn't working for me.  So, I pulled out the pattern with the cute flowers on it, which has one extra color.  Shhhh....maybe no one will notice ;)
Supplies Used:
Paper ~ Baja Breeze, Whisper White, Floral District DSP
Ink ~ Baja Breeze, Rich Razzleberry
Stamp Set ~ Patterned Occasions*
Other Supplies ~ Vine Street Embossing Folder*, Itty Bitty Punch Pack, Brights Buttons, Daffodil Delight Stitched Ribbon
*Sale-A-Bration item ~ Available thru March 22*

Sorry about the blurry picture...I am in need of a new camera!  Or maybe I just need to get better at taking pictures with my iPhone ;)  The Baja Breeze elephant is cut out and popped up on top of a Rich Razzleberry elephant, which created a little bit of a shadow.  I also layered a Daffodil Delight flower button on top of the Rich Razzleberry button...super cute, just not easy to see in the picture.  And the cute little flower was punched out of the DSP...perfect!

You still have time to get your FREE Sale-A-Bration item(s).  Don't miss out on all of these fun FREE items!!!

Friendship, Yes Please

Not to toot my own horn, but I have to say that this is one of my most favorite cards that I have made in a while!  No sketch, no challenge, just me and my creativity...that doesn't happen very often!  I love some of the soft cards in the Tea for Two DSP...perfect for spring.
Supplies Used:
Paper ~ So Saffron, Lucky Limeade, Very Vanilla, Tea for Two DSP
Ink ~ Lucky Limeade, Island Indigo
Stamp Set ~ From My Heart
Other Supplies ~ Delicate Doilies Sizzlets, Elegant Bouquet Embossing Folder, 2 1/2" Circle Punch, Bird Builder Punch, So Saffron Taffeta Ribbon, Flower Trim

I sponged the flowers, every so lightly, with Island Indigo and So Saffron ink.  The Friendship banner is cut out and popped up a bit for a little added depth.

Hoping all my club members like this card as much as I do...because they will be making this in April!

Happy Stamping!

Treasured Friend for Mojo Monday

With the release of the new catalog right around the corner, I feel the need to give some of my neglected stamps a little love!  You never know which ones will make the cut and remain in the next catalog...so I feel like I need to get them out use them all just in case :D

This weeks sketch at Mojo Monday inspired me to pull out  my World Treasures stamp set and coordinating International Bazaar DSP.
I forgot how much I love this DSP...so bright and full of life!

Supplies Used:
Paper ~ Whisper White, Pacific Point, International Bazaar DSP
Ink ~ Rich Razzleberry, Pacific Point, Daffodil Delight, Lucky Limeade
Stamp Set ~ World Treasures
Other Supplies ~ Finishing Touches Edgelits, Apothecary Accents Framelits, Rich Razzleberry Stitched Ribbon, Basic Rhinestones

It's kind of a gloomy, gray day here today, but these colors brighten things up a bit and put a smile on my face.  I hope it does for you too!

Never too old to play dress up

Happy Monday everyone!  Hope everyone isn't suffering too much from that lost hour of sleep over the weekend!  I had a little surgery on Friday, so I got lots of rest over the weekend and haven't missed that hour yet.  My boys, on the other hand, are letting me know they missed that hour today...yikes!  Talk about a house full of grumps this morning ;)  I didn't feel up to doing much of anything on Friday and spent most of Saturday enjoying some beautiful sunshine, but I did finally make it down to my craft room yesterday and had some fun!
What little girl, big or small, doesn't love to play dress up?  In a house full of boys, I'm always looking for an excuse to dress something up and Stampin' Up! has given all of us something to help!  The All Dressed Up Framelits seem to be a HUGE hit and I finally found time to get mine out and play!
There are sooooo many fun things to do with these framelits, but I kept things a little more simple to start. This card was inspired by a friend who has had a bit of a rough go the past year, but she was determined to make a good life for her and her kids and she is well on her way to doing that!
Supplies Used:
Paper ~ Basic Black, Very Vanilla, Real Red, Crumb Cake Timeless Portrait DSP (retired, but available in MDS)
Ink ~ Basic Black & Real Red Stampin' Wright Markers
Stamp Set ~ Feel Goods
Other Supplies ~ All Dressed Up Framelits, Oval Famelits, Basic Pearls (colored with a black Sharpie)

This card was inspired by a similar one seen on Pinterest, but I forgot to actually pin the card, so I can't give credit where credit is due!  If I find it again, I'll let you know :)  I forgot how cute this DSP is..perfect for a teacher card!  And you can't have a teacher card without a chalkboard, right?!?!?  Loving the chalkboard technique!

Supplies Used:
Paper ~ Riding Hood Red, So Saffron, Basic Black, Storytime DSP
Ink ~ VersaMark, White Gel Pen
Stamp Set ~ Family Reunion
Other Supplies ~ All Dressed Up Framelits, Denim Jean Ribbon, Itty Bitty Shapes Punch Pack, Basic Rhinestones

Hope you all have a great day and a fantastic week!!!

Happy Stamping!

Spring is full of transformations...flowers begin to bloom, days are longer and there always seems to be a ton of new babies coming in to the world :)  My first card is made with the adorable little elephant from the Patterned Occasions Set...I love him!  It's a little difficult to see in the picture, but the ears on these cute little elephants are popped up with a Dimensional and inked up in a couple different shades of blue, with the exception of one, which was stamped in Melon Mambo.

Other Supplies ~ Melon Mambo Striped Organdy Ribbon, Silver Basics Designer Buttons

With Spring always comes Easter too...and what's a Spring Blog Hop without a few little bunnies hopping along?!?  I knew as soon as I got the Oval Framelits that I would have to make an egg shaped card for Easter.  How cute is this?!?!

Supplies Used:
Paper ~ Pink Pirouette, Whisper White, Certainly Celery
Ink ~ Primrose Petals, Raspberry Ripple, Pink Pirouette, Certainly Celery
Stamp Set ~ Ears to You (Single Stamp)

Vintage Ciao

Sometimes it is very hard for me to think outside of my "clean and simple" style of stamping and come up with something that is not a "me" card.  But I have really been trying to push myself out of my creative comfort zone and work on other styles of stamping.  My bestie, and fellow SU! demo, has an amazing vintage style of stamping and I love it!  She's having a little surgery tomorrow and I wanted to make her a card to bring to her during her stay in the hospital.
With some help from this weeks Mojo Monday sketch, I came up with a card that I hope she will like.
Supplies Used:
Paper ~ Gumball Green, Summer Starfruit, Primrose Petals Core'dinations Paper, Very Vanilla, Print Poetry DSP
Ink ~ Summer Starfruit, Gumball Green, Primrose Petals
Stamp Sets ~ En Francias, Collage Curios, Ciao, Baby!
Other Supplies ~ Apothecary Accents Framelits, Curly Label Punch, Petite Curly Label Punch, Soda Pop Tops, 1" Circle Punch, Crochet Trim, Silver Basics Designer Buttons

I went back and forth, trying to decide if I wanted to use the Crochet Trim bow on the card...it looked to plain without it, but I felt like it overpowered the card with it.  I ended up making it a little bit smaller and went ahead and stuck it on.  Still not totally sold on it....oh well :)

Wishing my bestie a successful surgery and speedy recovery!

Happy Stamping!!

This Too Shall Pass

Blue skies, sunshine and a little ball of gray fluff are brightening my day after kind of a sad weekend.  We received some sad news about our 10 year old lab on Thursday and are dealing with the fact that he won't be with us much longer.  My poor sweet Bailey boy has cancer and sadly, there is nothing we can do about it.  We are taking it day by day and spending as much time with him and giving him as much love as we can.  This news came just days before I was to pick up our new kitty...bitter sweet.
The sentiment on this card kind of sums up how I'm feeling.  They Say This Too Shall Pass...They Just Never Say When.  The sadness and feeling of uncertainty is still with me today, but I know in time it will pass :)  I created this card based on the sketch from Fab Friday.

I used Summer Starfruit ink to sponge the embossed portion of the card stock to give it more of an antiqued/vintage look...

Supplies Used:
Paper ~ Island Indigo, Whisper White, Summer Starfruit, Twitterpated DSP, Birds of a Feather DSP
Ink ~ Island Indigo, Summer Starfruit
Stamp Set ~ From My Heart
Other Supplies ~ Labels Collection Framelits, Apothecary Accents Framelits, Itty Bittys Punch, Pearl Basics, Lacy Brocade Embossing Folder

I keep reminding myself of all of the good times we've had with our pup and know that when the time does come for us to let him go that he has had a pretty awesome life!   I'll leave you with a couple of pictures we took over the weekend...a family pic with our Bailey boy and a pic of our new baby, Freya Katniss :)

Bailey refused to stand up...this is as good as it gets when you are trying to get 3 kids and a dog to look at the camera!
