Happy Halloween

Happy Halloween friends!
In our house, no school lunch on a holiday is complete without something fun made by Mom :)  I found a cute idea for Pumpkin Poo (I know, sounds more gross than cute, right?) on Pinterest and knew I had to include it in my boys' lunch.
The little poem reads:
I started to carve a pumpkin
With my carving knife and scoop
But the pumpkin got scared
He took a little poo!
It looked so cute and funny
Just like a tasty treat
So I'm sharing it with you
Because you are so sweet!
Happy Halloween!

All of my boys LOVE cheese balls, so I used those instead of candy for the poo.  I'm sure their teachers will appreciate that too :)
Thank you to my fellow Stampin' friend Charlotte for posting your cute picture of your Halloween treat bag.  It gave me the inspiration for this!

Supplies Used:
Paper ~ Tangerine Tango, Whisper White, Basic Black
Other Supplies Used:  Owl Punch, Top Note Die, Perfect Polka Dots Folder, 4x6 Cellophane Bags, Googlies

Here's a few other things that will be in their lunch box today.  Spider crackers and an Orange Scream yogurt drink.

Wishing you all a spooky, safe, fun-filled Halloween!

Tag, you're it!

It's Anything BUT a Card week over at Hand Stamped Sentiments...it's all about gift tags!  This is perfect because I have a holiday bazaar coming up this weekend and I need a few more gift tags to add to my collection of goodies  :)
After I got the kiddos home from swimming and off to bed, I headed down to my "woman cave" (as my son Hunter calls it) and pulled out my Two Tags die and made two cute tags.
I don't know about you, but the No Peeking set has got to be one of my favorite Christmas sets!  All of the little critters are so cute and cheerful!  And it's so much fun to use the Stampin' Write Markers with them.

Supplies Used:
Reindeer Tag
Paper ~ Crumb Cake, Very Vanilla, Cherry Cobbler Festival of Prints DSP Stack
Ink ~ Soft Suede, Island Indigo, Lucky Limeade
Stamp Sets ~ No Peeking, Make a Mitten

Sketchy Monday

Whew...what a Monday!  I started on this card early this morning before the rest of the house woke up and my work day started.  I've just now finished it because my day totally got away from me!  Work was just plain CRAZY today.  The end of the year rush has hit and patients are wanting surgeries done before their deductible starts over again.  I lost track of how many authorizations I processed today!  Hoping tomorrow is a little less crazy and I can get caught back up.  I'm feeling a little guilty for not putting in some extra hours tonight...but not too guilty!  The kiddos are in bed and my hubby is still away on his hunting trip so I have nothing but me and my little rubber {stamping} room to help me unwind.  And on a really good note, I had some people take advantage of the awesome 15% off sale today.  All of the great promotions offered this month helped me to have biggest month yet in sales.  Hooray!!!

The Paper Players have a fun sketch this week, so I decided to give it a shot.  I found a beautiful color combo over at Color Me Beautiful!  This is the first time I've visited their challenge blog, but you can bet I'll be back.  Love these colors!

As soon as I saw these colors, I new the Quint-Essential Flower would be perfect.  Here's how I put it to work:
Supplies Used:
Paper ~ Chocolate Chip, Crumb Cake, Very Vanilla, Summer Starfruit, Raspberry Ripple
Stamp Set ~ Quint-Essential Flower
Ink ~ Perfect Plum, Crumb Cake, Raspberry Ripple, Chocolate Chip, Summer Starfruit
Other Supplies ~ Finishing Touches Edgelits, Lacy Brocade Embossing Folder, 2 3/8" & 1 3/4" Scallop Circle Punches, 1" and 3/4" Circle Punch, Basic Pearls

These colors are just so warm and inviting...perfect for fall!  Think I'll go create another project using them :)

Missing Mojo

What a fun weekend it has been so far!  Last night I participated in a fun Holiday Open House, hosted by my BFF Erica.  It was so much fun to hang out with such a great group of ladies and just be Bree for the night...Every mommy needs a break every once in a while ;)  And tonight I participated in a local Bridal Fair.  Fun, fun, FUN!  Met some great brides-to-be, shared some fun ideas and {hopefully} recruited a few new club members.  A special thank you to my awesome parents for helping me out with the kiddos two nights in a row!  My hubby is on a 10 day hunting trip, so I'm living the single mommy life more so than usual.  Thank goodness for helping hands :)

The past couple of weeks have been filled with working on display items for the Bridal Fair and my crafting mojo is pretty much tapped out.  But, I challenged my good friend Katie over at Sweet N Spiffy to another challenge combo yesterday, so I stuck with it and came up a card that, well...I'm not totally thrilled with. But we all have days like this, right?
For our challenge combo, I chose The Friday Mashup with the idea of one last Halloween card, Fab Friday for a great sketch and ColourQ for some fun color inspiration.
Here's a look a what came up with...

Supplies Used:
Paper ~ Rich Razzleberry, Tangerine Tango, Lucky Limeade, Basic Black, Whisper White, Silver Glimmer Paper
Ink ~ Basic Black Stampin'Write Marker
Stamp Set ~ Toxic Treats
Other Supplies ~ Chevron Embossing Folder, Typeset Alphabet Bigz, Window Frames Collection, Bitty Bat Punch, Dazzling Details

I just feel like something is missing or....I don't know.  Maybe my mojo will be back after a good nights sleep :)

Framed Ornaments

I needed a bit of a break from my Bridal Fair and Holiday Bazaar projects, so I decided to find a couple of fun challenges this morning.  After a little bit of searching, I was inspired by the CAS sketch over at Pals Paper ArtsI also found a fun little challenge going on over at The Paper Players...to create a CAS project featuring frames.  The perfect idea struck me and I got to work!

PPA145 Sketch

I recently earned two free stamp sets for reaching my Stampin' Start goals...yay!!!  Papaya Collage was one of the sets I got and I finally had the chance to ink it up this morning.  Love it!  I did a little bit of fussy cutting around the outer edge of the frame, cut the center out and popped it up with some dimensionals to create a bit a shadow box effect.  Fun!

Supplies Used:
Paper ~ Very Vanilla, Real Red, Candlelight Christmas Specialty DSP
Ink ~ Early Espresso
Stamp Set ~ Greetings of the Season, Papaya Collage
Other Supplies ~ Finishing Touches Edgelits, Merry Minis Punch Pack, Linen Thread, Stampin' Dimensionals

I love, love, love this DSP...so beautiful!  It was fun to create each little ornament with this paper.

Ok, time to get back to my other projects!  The Bridal Fair is Saturday and I still have few more things to get done...time is running short!

Happy Stamping!

Fall Inspiration - HSS #141

Fall has arrived!  I am a summer girl for sure, but fall is my second favorite season of the year.  I just love all of the beautiful colors!
This weeks challenge over at Hand Stamped Sentiments is to create a project using inspiration from this beautiful picture:

So pretty!

I've been playing around with some Mason Jar projects and decided to make a candle holder.  This would be fun to put on your table for Thanksgiving.

I wish you could see the candle glowing in the jar because it is really pretty.  But, it was way too dark in my house this morning to take a picture without a flash :(

Supplies Used:
Paper ~ Early Espresso, Cajun Craze, More Mustard
Other Supplies ~ Autumn Accents Bigz Die, Paper Doily Sizzlits, Linen Thread, Cherry Cobble Seam Binding Ribbon, Brushed Bronze Buttons
Non Stampin' Up! Items ~ Burlap, Mason Jar

I started out with out the doily, but it just didn't look quite right.  Adding the doily gave it just the right added touch, especially when it is lit up.

And a quick shout out and congrats to my good friend Katie over at Sweet N Spiffy for her Artist Pick.  Her Halloween creation with the inked up embossing folders was amazing!!!

Happy Stamping!

Never give up

My motto for today...Never Give Up!  I woke up to a cold, rainy, windy morning and wanted nothing more to crawl back into bed and skip out the 10K I had signed up to run.  But a little voice kept saying, "Don't give up, you can do this!"  So I dressed in some of my warmer running gear, laced up my shoes and set off for the 2012 Crush Run.  And I am oh-so-thankful that I did!  The clouds parted just as the race started and we had a beautiful run though some of our beautiful vineyards.

This motto also kept me going while I was working on my latest card challenges.  My friend Katie, over at Sweet N Spiffy, picked out a fun sketch and a tricky color combo for our latest creation challenge!  She went with a sketch from Pink Paper Bakery and the color combo comes from colourQ.  Take a look!

I'm not gonna lie...this color combo was a tricky one!  (I did have to substitute a couple colors, but they were pretty close.)  At first, all I could think about was a Halloween card, but I'm kind of burned out on Halloween.   I played around with a few ideas and finally settled on this:

It is hard to tell in the picture, but the little star burst flowers are stamped in both Pumpkin Pie and Tangerine Tango ink.  This kind of reminds me of a picture you would see in a Chinese restaurant or something :D

Supplies Used:
Paper ~ Whisper White, Basic Black, Pumpkin Pie, Tangerine Tango, Lucky Limeade
Ink ~ Pumpkin Pie, Tangerine Tango, Lucky Limeade, Jet Black StazOn
Stamp Sets ~ Summer Silhouettes, Sweet Essentials

This was quite the challenge for me, but I'm glad I stuck it out and didn't give up!

It's starting to look a lot like Christmas...

...in my house!  Tonight is my Holiday Ornament class and my house is decorated for Christmas AND Halloween.  I feel like I'm at Target or something...Halloween and Christmas decorations out at the same time!  I had a ton of stamping friends ask me to show them how to make the beautiful ornament on the front of the Holiday Catalog, so I though, what the heck...lets make a fun night out of it!  So, after preparing all week for the class, everything is ready to go.  And with the great Stampin' Up! promotion this month, there is no better time!

To showcase a few of the MANY different projects that can be created with the Ornament Keepsakes Stamp Set, Framelits and Candlelight Christmas Specialty DSP, I made a few smaller ornaments with some of the Holiday Ornaments Framelits.  As I was gluing some of these together this morning and cruising through some of my favorite challenge sites, I landed on The Friday Mashup Challenge.  This weeks challenge is to make a project with a Christmas Ornament or make a project with Sparkle...OR Mash it Up and create a Christmas Project with some Sparkle.  So, I mashed it up!  I created an ornament and added some Vanilla Shimmer Smooch Spritz to sparkle it up a bit, which you can't really see in the picture...dang it!

These little guys are quick and easy to put together, which is a good thing, because I'm hoping to decorate my tree with them this year.  I just stamped 5 images, ran them through my Big Shot with the coordinating die, folded each one in half and glued them together.  Easy peasy!

Supplies Used:
Paper ~ Very Vanilla
Ink ~ Early Espresso
Stamp Set ~ Ornament Keepsakes
Other Supplies ~ Holiday Ornaments Framelits, Linen Thread, Lace Trim, Vanilla Shimmer Smooch Spritz

And just in case you haven't seen the great promotion for the month..check it out before it ends!

Looking forward to a fun night of ornament making tonight.
Wishing you all a great weekend!!

Freshly Made Dynamic Duo

Last night at Stamp Club, my fellow paper crafting friend Katie asked me if I wanted to try something fun with all of the challenges we participate in.  I'm always up for a challenge, so I jumped right in!  Katie's idea was for each of us to take turns picking two challenges (ie: sketch and color challenge) and creating a project.  Fun, right?  I had already created a card for the challenges over at Freshly Made Sketches and Dynamic Duos, so I asked Katie if she wanted to start with these two.  She quickly agreed and got home as quick as she could to get busy with her creation.  Check out her fun blog at Sweet N Spiffy to see what she came up as well as all of her other GREAT creations!
Here is what we had to work with with these two challenges:

CAS sketch and some fun colors too!   I knew right away I wanted to pull some DSP from my Comfort Cafe stash for my card.  It took me a bit to decide which design to use, but I finally settled on the pretty soft suede design.

Supplies Used:
Paper ~ Soft Suede, Pool Party, Very Vanilla, Comfort Cafe DSP
Ink ~ Pool Party
Stamp Set ~ Friendship Preserves
Other Supplies ~ Window Frames Framelits, Festive Paper Piercing Pack, Curly Label Punch, Crochet Trim

Don't forget...you can get a FREE Festive Paper Piercing Pack when you purchase the Ornament Keepsakes Set and Candlelight Christmas Specialty DSP during the month of October.  Visit my On-line Store today!
Tomorrow is my big Holiday Ornament class!  Really looking forward to helping a great group of friends create the beautiful ornament featured on the front of the Holiday Catalog.

Inked Embossing -HSS 140

Half way through the week and I'm still alive.  It's a good thing I can survive on very little sleep because between pulling some late nights to get things done around the house (and some stamping too) and my son waking up at 4:15AM, I'm sure not getting much! At least I have lots of time to get a run in a few mornings a week :)
Last night I did manage to get a little stamping done after I wrapped things up around the house.  And being that yesterday was Tuesday, I had to check out what Hand Stamped Sentiments had going on this week.  It's a technique challenge, which I love!  It's always fun to learn something new :)

Inked Embossing is a technique I have used before and it is a fun way to use your embossing folders.  It's almost like creating your own DSP.   I started out with the Chevron Embossing folder, but the ideas that I had in my head just weren't coming out the same when I tried to put them together on paper.  So, I tried the Lacy Brocade Embossing Folder and LOVED how it turned out!

Supplies Used:
Paper ~ Whisper White, Cherry Cobbler
Ink ~ Cherry Cobbler
Stamp Set ~ Snowflake Soiree
Other Supplies ~ Lacy Brocade Embossing Folder, Cherry Cobbler Seam Binding Ribbon, Finishing Touches Edgelits

Happy Stamping!

Retro Christmas

What a Monday!  It's a good thing I got a little extra rest over the weekend because this week is shaping up to kick my booty!  If the rest of the week is anything like today, I'll be lucky to make it to the weekend ;)
My dear friend Katie, over at Sweet N Spiffyhas turned me on to Retro Sketches.  (Thank you Katie...another challenge site for me to be addicted to!)The sketches they have each week are great!  You will find me playing over here more often for sure!
I knew right away when I saw this sketch that I wanted to use the cute little ornament from Merry Minis.  I am in love with the Cherry Cobbler, Lucky Limeade and Island Indigo color combo for my Christmas creations, so I apologize for the numerous posts with these colors.  The Festival of Prints DSP stack has some great paper in these colors, which I used for my ornaments...check it out!

Supplies Used:
Paper ~ Crumb Cake, Island Indigo, Cherry Cobbler, Lucky Limeade, Very Vanilla, Festival of Print DSP
Ink ~ Cherry Cobbler
Stamp Set ~ Chock Full o' Cheer
Other Supplies ~ Merry Minis Punch Pack, Finishing Touches Edgelits, Island Indigo Bakers Twine

Don't you just love how bright and cheerful these colors are together?  I'm thinking of decorating my tree in these colors this year :)

Hoping I get a good night of sleep tonight so I can gear up for the rest of the crazy, busy week.  So much to do, never enough hours in the day :)

Simple Snow Swirled Greetings

I'm kind of in to the whole non-traditional Christmas colors this year and the color challenge over at Fab Friday gave me some inspiration for a very non-traditional Christmas card.

These are the great colors they gave us to work with...love this combo!

I kept this card super simple and was pretty happy with how it turned out.

Supplies Used:
Paper ~ Midnight Muse, Whisper White
Ink ~ Midnight Muse, Island Indigo, Summer Starfruit
Stamp Set ~ Snow Swirled

Keeping this post short and sweet.  I am super busy preparing for a class this coming Friday...I have over 20 people coming over to make the holiday ornament featured on the front of the Holiday Catalog.  If you haven't checked out this catalog yet, you don't know what you are missing!  It's full of great holiday sets, paper and SO MUCH MORE!

Blooming Birthday

Earlier this week my mom's friend Shanna had a birthday...and of course my mom asked me to make her a card.  The first thing I thought of was Blooming with Kindness and shades of pink!  When ever I think of Shanna, I think of beautiful flowers and simple class.  Here's a look at how I turned that into a card...

I just love the flower stamp from this set!  So beautiful! And I love how it turned out on the First Edition DSP...subtle beauty.

Supplies Used:
Paper ~ Crumb Cake, Calypso Coral, First Edition Specialty DSP
Ink ~ Calypso Coral
Stamp Sets ~ Blooming with Kindness, Pursuit of Happiness
Other Supplies ~ Calypso Coral Ruffled Ribbon

And notice the stamped envelope...I never send out a naked envelope :)

I had started out stamping the flower on some Very Vanilla, but it didn't work for the card above. BUT...I made it work for this card:

Two card with two different looks just by using different paper...don't you love doing that?

Tonight is Stamp Club...yay!  Looking forward to seeing all of my stamping friends and enjoying some adult conversation!

Keeping you in my prayers

I've had some friends who have needed a few extra prayers lately.  Always happy to pray for them and send them a card to bring some happiness into their life.  And I never seem to have any sympathy or "here for you" cards on hand.  To be honest, they aren't my favorite to make...maybe because it's just the thought of why they will have to be used.  But it is always my hope that a hand made card will brighten someones day and put a little bit of love in their heart.  With this said,I've decided I need to be better about having a sympathy card every once in a while for all of my monthly club members to make.
The sketch idea for this card came from Freshly Made Sketches.  I love their clean and simple sketch designs...just my style!
I chose to flip the sketch and do a landscape card.
Supplies Used:
Paper ~ Lucky Limeade, Soft Suede, Very Vanilla, Festival of Prints DSP Stack
Ink ~ Early Espresso, Lucky Limeade
Stamp Set ~ Thoughts and Prayers
Other Supplies ~ Soft Suede Taffeta Ribbon

I love this stamp set...so simple and beautiful!

Happy Stamping!

All Things Pumpkin

I love pumpkins!  Pumpkin spice coffee, pumpkin {avocado} smoothies, pumpkin pies, pumpkin cookies, pumpkin decorations, The Great Pumpkin, pumpkin patches...all things pumpkin!
I saw the cutes little pumpkin on Pinterest (which consumes way too much of my time some days) the other day and wanted to make one.  I got caught up in other projects and never got to it.  But when I saw the pumpkins challenge over at Hand Stamped Sentiments I set my other projects aside to give this little guy a try.

I love the polka dot paper in the Howlstooth & Scaringbone DSP and thought it would make for a cute pumpkin. And the Core'dinations paper was prefect for the stem! This is now sitting up on my mantle with all of my other Halloween creations :)

Supplies Used:

Paper ~ Howlstooth & Scaringbone DSP, Lucky Limeade, Early Espresso Core'dinations
Other Supplies ~ Woodgrain Embossing Folder, Blossom Petals Builder, 1 1/4" Scallop Circle Punch

Now I think I'll go make a cup of pumpkin spice coffee to get me through the rest of the day!  More stamping to be done tonight :)

Happy Stamping!

PPA 144 - Days of Gratitude

Happy Sunday friends!  I hope you are all having a great weekend and enjoying the beautiful weather and changing of the seasons.  I have had a very productive weekend in my craft room...that makes for one happy Momma :)  I got my Stampin' Start Achievement order on Friday and have been having some fun with all of the new goodies.

This card was inspired by a color challenge over at Pals Paper ArtsThese colors are all about fall!

MustardCajunEspresso
I kept this card pretty simple.  I wasn't sure what to do with the sentiment at first.  I didn't want to add another layer of paper just for the sentiment and it was just a bit too naked without it. So, I embossed the sentiment in the clear embossing powder and love how it turned out!  I wish I would have thought to emboss the big medallion as well, but it still works.  And you can't tell in the picture, but the Early Espresso leaf is cut out and popped up with a dimensional.
Supplies Used:

Paper ~ Early Espresso, More Mustard, Very Vanilla
Ink ~ More Mustard, Cajun Craze, Early Espresso, VersaMark
Stamp Set ~ Days of Gratitude
Other Supplies ~ Clear Stampin' Emboss Powder, Stampin' Dimensionals

I was sad to see summer go, but now that fall is actually here, I'm loving it!

Off to work on some projects for an upcoming Bridal Fair and Holiday Bazaar.

Happy Stamping!

Change of heart

Ever pass on a certain stamp set because you just don't think you'll ever use it?  I do all the time, but then I see it in action and my mind is quickly changed.  Clockworks is a set I've looked at a few times, but just never really called out to me...until I attended Tacoma Regional!  This stamp set was used for all of the make and takes and I had a total change of heart!  This set is so versatile!  And what a perfect time for me to reach my Stampin' Start goals...2 free stamp sets and a $50 shopping spree!!  Clockworks is now part of my {ever-growing} collection and one of my new faves!
I dove in to some projects early this morning and got totally carried away.  4 cards and a few other projects later, I'm finally sitting down to catch up on some editing and other desk work.  I hit up some of my favorite challenge sites for some inspiration...Hand Stamped Sentiments has a color challenge going on this week and I love the combo.  So rich and full of life!  So, I had my color, but needed a little help in the sketch department.  After looking through a few different sketch ideas, I came across one at Try Stampin' on Tuesday and quickly got to work.
Here's what I had to work with:

And here's what I came up with:

I love the tone on tone stamping with this set!  And with this color combo, this could be a birthday card for anyone.

Supplies Used:
Paper ~ Crumb Cake, Tangerine Tango, Early Espresso, Island Indigo, Very Vanilla
Ink ~ Crumb Cake, Tangerine Tango, Early Espresso, Island Indigo
Stamp Sets ~ Clockworks, One in a Million

Heading out for a walk with my kiddos before it starts to get dark.  Sad for the shorter days, but I am loving the changing of the seasons and all the beautiful colors!

Hybrid Baby Boy

A co-worker had a sweet baby boy earlier this week...welcome baby Graham!  Another co-worker asked me to make a card for all of us to sign and of course I said yes :)

I created the cute little nursery scene with some of the stamps included in this set.  I love that you can re-color any of the images...the possibilities are endless now!  After I had everything set just right, I printed it off, made a few cuts and added to my card front.  Add a few embellishments, some ribbon and a little paper embossing and you have a fabulous hybrid card in no time!

Freshly Made Frosty

No Peeking is still sitting out on my crafting table...I just can't stop making cards with these cute little guys!  Thanks to a fun sketch over at Freshly Made Sketches, I've got another cute card.

I did add an extra little embellishment with the snowflake...it was just to naked without it!  (And I'm addicted to the Snow Flurry die right now!)

Supplies Used:
Paper ~ Bashful Blue, Whisper White, Festival of Prints DSP Stack, Silver Glimmer Paper
Ink ~ Bashful Blue, Basic Black, Cherry Cobbler
Stamp Set ~ No Peeking

Have a Jolly Monday

Here were are at Monday again!  The weeks are just flying by...so crazy!  I spent my weekend in the Seattle/Tacoma area and attended (my first ever) Tacoma Regional.  I had the most amazing time and came home so inspired and full of ideas!
I was short on time last Friday, but I still checked out the great new Fab Friday Challenge before my morning got away from me.  They have a great sketch for us this time and my creative wheels were turning.  I knew exactly which stamps and paper I wanted to use, so while my sweet baby took a nap yesterday afternoon, I got to work.  Here's the sketch we have to work with:

And here is my take:
I love, love, love the No Peaking set and am working on making a card with each cute little Christmas critter :)  Fun cards to give to the kiddos for sure!

Supplies Used:
Paper ~ Island Indigo, Whisper White, Festival of Prints DSP
Ink ~ Cherry Cobbler, Soft Suede, Lucky Limeade
Stamp Sets ~ No Peaking, Distressed Dots
Other Supplies ~ 2 1/2" Circle punch, Perfect Pennants Bigz L (scallop circle), Rhinestone Basic Jewels, Red Sharpie Marker (non-SU)

Fun little tip...I used the red Sharpie marker to color the rhinestone red.  How cute and easy is that???  And don't you just love the color combo?  My inspiration came from a project idea in the October issue of Stampin' Success. One of the many great reasons to become a SU demo :)  I'd love to have you join my team!  Visit my Demonstrator Page today for more details!

Happy Monday and Happy Stamping!
