Whew...made it to Wednesday!  Not only are we half way through the week, but it's also time for an all new Freshly Made Sketches sketch, and Amy has a simple sketch that has a lot of room to play.
I kept my card pretty simple and CASE'd the card from the 2015 Occasions Catalog on page 34.  I love this stamp set and yes, I did use the Blendabilties on it...I just can't let them go yet!

Hope your day is full of sunshine!!

Hard Working Man

It's Masculine Monday over at Stylin' Stampin' INKspiration!!!  I often struggle with masculine cards, but thanks to the Adventure Bound DSP stack and Adventure Awaits stamp set, that struggle is much less than it once was.

This is a super simple card, but the sentiment makes such a big statement...there is no need to add any extras!  This card is going to my hubby...he's been putting in so many extra hours the past few months.  It's hard on all of us, but we know how to work through it and know it will be worth it in the end.

Supplies Used:
Paper ~ Smoky Slate, Adventure Bound DSP Stack, Velum
Ink ~ VersaMark
Stamp Set ~ Adventure Awaits
Other Supplies ~ Black Embossing Powder, Mini Brads

I will be honest and say I wasn't too sure about this DSP when I first saw it, but now that I have used it, I LOVE it!!

Be sure to check out the other masculine creations over at SSINK and see what you might be INKspired to create!

Howdy Cowgirl ~ FM201

Yee-Haw!!!  It's finally Friday and it's time for an all new Friday Mashup Challenge!  We hope you all enjoyed our 200th challenge as much as we did.  It was awesome seeing all of the entries...so much talent out there!  Amy is keeping things rolling for us this week with a fun color challenge mashed up with a see through element (window, acetate, vellum).  We hope you'll join in the Mashup fun!
Some good friends, and part of our fire family, moved out to an old farm house last weekend with over 20 acres to play on.  Unfortunately, one of our little friends played a bit too hard and broke her arm, which resulted in surgery yesterday.  We wanted to send her some extra hugs and love, so we left this card and a cute little stuffed horse at the surgery center.  Her mom texted me when they got there and said it made her day :-)
Supplies Used:
Paper ~ Smoky Slate, Rich Razzleberry, Whisper White, Vellum
Ink ~ Smoky Slate, Pacific Point, Memento, VersaMark
Stamp Set ~ Yee-Haw
Other Supplies ~ Rhinestone Basic Jewels, White Embossing Powder, Deco Labels Framelits, Zig Zag Embossing Folder, Basic Gray Bakers Twine

Fun little card for a sweet little cowgirl, right?  Starting the spring off with a broken arm is NO FUN...so here's to wishing her a speedy recovery!

Now head on over to Friday Mashup and join in the fun!

Happy Stamping!

One Word

How often do you use the Dictionary these days?!?  I don't even think I own one...thanks to the world of technology, the Dictionary is right at our fingertips.  BUT, I do own the Dictionary background stamp...does that count?!?! :-)
We are focusing on the this stamp over at Stylin' Stampin' INKspiration today and this so happens to be one of my favorite background stamps.
My first thought was to use it for a background for a pretty, flowery card, but then my crazy creative mind started wondering and I came with something totally different.  This card kind of took on a life of it's own with each stamp inked up and each piece of paper cut.  Kind of a messy mix of everything, but fun...
Supplies Used:
Paper ~ Crumb Cake, Coastal Cabana, Calypso Coral, Real Red, Basic Black, Whisper White
Ink ~ Memento, Crumb Cake, Coastal Cabana
Stamp Sets ~ Dictionary, Epic Alphabet, Metro Type Alphabet, Snuggles and Smooches
Other Supplies ~ Calypso Coral Chevron Ribbon, Arrows Embossing Folder, Starburst Framelits, Itty Bitty Punch Pack, Banner Punch, Silver Bakers Twine (silver only), Sweetheart Punch

Can you guess which {one} word is stamped on the inside?  The possibilities are endless...just like the words to be found in the Dictionary!

Happy Stamping!

I'm still mourning the loss of Lucky Limeade, but I do have a new love for Mossy Meadow.  It's such a bold and rich shade of green! I kind of got a little carried away with this card, but in the end, I was pretty happy with how it all came together.
Supplies Used:
Paper ~ Mossy Meadow, Whisper White, Watercolor, Gold Foil, Sheer Perfection Designer Vellum Stack*
Ink ~ Mossy Meadow, Old Olive, Pear Pizzazz, VersaMark
Stamp Sets ~ Papillon Potpourri, Regarding Dahlias

Climb...Conquer...Cure....Part II

Here we are....back at Monday again!  This weekend went by WAY too fast for my liking...how about you?  Our weekend was super busy with baseball tryouts, final soccer games, celebrating with friends and stamp club.  While I did get to stamp a bit with some of my favorite stampers yesterday, I didn't get to spend NEAR enough time creating in my craft room.

I did, however, get to spend a little time with MDS over the weekend, and that made me happy :)  It's time for an all new layout over at Stylin' Stampin' INKspiration.  You may have seen my layout last week from our Stairclimb weekend.  I had a few more pictures that I wanted to add to our family yearbook, so I used this sketch and turned both pages into a two-page layout.

I wish you could see just how tall this building is in person...it's HUGE!!!   A big congrats to all of the finishers for climbing 69 flights of stairs in that beast of a building!  I didn't get to help my hubby as he crossed the finish line, but I did get to see him finish and was able to meet him as he came around the corner and get a few pictures before I had to get back to work.  As I said before, it was an amazing opportunity to volunteer for this event.  I look forward to going again next year and for many more years to come.

I hope our sketch has INKspired you to get CREATIVE today!

Happy Stamping...or scrapping...or MDSing!!!

Climb...Conquer...Cure

This past weekend, my hubby participated in the 24th Annual Scott Firefighter Stairclimb.  He climbed 69 flights of stairs...that's 1,311 steps...all to support the mission of the Leukemia & Lymphoma Society.  This was his 3rd year participating as a climber and he did an awesome job!!!  Not only are they climbing all those stairs, but they are doing it in FULL firefighter gear, including their 60+ air tanks...NOT an easy task!

These kiddos touched my heart in a big way and I just had to document this part of my day...I used this weeks MDS Monday sketch to help get me started.  Be sure to check out all of the great design team creations, as well as all of the other participants...there are some awesome MDS skills there!!!

I had the great honor of volunteering at the event this year and I can not WAIT to go back next year.  I spent my morning checking in participants, other volunteers and honorees.  It was heartwarming to meet the honorees and their families, especially the sweet babies in this picture.  The two older children are cousins who were diagnosed with leukemia within weeks of each other, but battled the disease and were honored in a BIG way at the climb!  The family was overwhelmed with the special treatment they got throughout the day and the smiles on the faces of those babies made me realize what this event was really about.

I got to spend the second half of my day at the top of the building helping firefighters remove their gear at the finish line...not as glorious as it sounds ladies!  I was covered from head to toe in sweat from hundreds of firefighers...pretty gross, but still an amazing opportunity.  All of the honorees of the event were also able to come up to the top floor to watch the firefighters cross the finish line.  Even though these firefighters were beyond exhausted from climbing all those stairs, nearly all of them made it a point to go and visit with the honorees...it still makes me tear up just thinking about it.

I left the tower at the end of the day with a full heart, feeling very blessed.  This is an amazing event and my hubby and I are both so proud to have had the chance to be a part of it and look forward to many more years to come!

This stamp set seemed appropriate for today's sketch as my hubby and I make our way back home after a little weekend get away.  Traveling out of town, even if it's only a few hours away, is always so much fun!  We were in Seattle for the weekend for the Scott Firefighter Stairclimb and we had an awesome time!   Be watching for an MDS layout soon!

A Dusty {Crop Hopper} Birthday ~ Monday Montage

Welcome back to Monday Montage!!!  We are back with another fabulous hop and I'm glad you are here with us!

A good friend of mine asked me to make a fun card for a special boy who is turning 2 in just a couple weeks, which I happily agreed to do...I can DO boy cards!   The idea for this card brewed in my head during one of my early morning runs and I could not wait to get home and get to work on it.  I'm pretty sure I used just about EVERY single punch I own to make this Dusty Crop Hopper come to life!  My own 3 year old knew exactly who this was, so I deemed it approved for a soon to be 2 year old boy :-)  When I delivered this card to my friend, she was so happy with it as the little boys daddy is a pilot...perfect!!!

Supplies Used:
Paper ~ Lost Lagoon, Tangelo Twist, Hello Honey, Basic Black, Whisper White, Brushed Silver,
Ink ~ Lost Lagoon, Memento
Stamp Set ~ Metro Type Alphabet, Hooray It's Your Day

The girls over at Stylin' Stampin' INKspiration are sharing some fun gift card ideas today and I am here with mine.
I have a crazy amount of these fun Chevron Bags and the Gift Card Enclosures, so I thought...why not put them together?!?!
