Sun, Sand and Sailing...Take Two

This past month, many of the Stylin' Stampin' INKspiration designers participated in an Occasions Catalog Card Swap. Instead of keeping all of these beautiful card samples to ourselves, we wanted to share them with you, too! Today's blog hop will spotlight a handful of Stampin' Up's Occasions Catalog products as each of us who participated chose a different stamp set to showcase.

As you hop along, please be sure to comment and show some love on every blog...and be sure to pin it, too! We are always excited to hear from our followers! You should have just left stop number FOUR on the SSINK Occasions Catalog Blog Hop – Erica B of Stamping Starlette. If so, you are in the right spot. If a link doesn’t work or you get off track, you will find the full blog hop lineup below. And, be sure to come visit us at Stylin' Stampin' INKspiration where we 'inkspire' you 5 days a week, 52 weeks a year!

Now, if you're a follower of my blog, you're probably thinking..."I've already seen this card."  Yep, you sure have! I made this card for the Monday Montage blog hop a few weeks ago and decided to use this card as my swap.  So, you get to see this fun card twice!

Emboss It!

Hi friends and welcome to a fun technique day over at Stylin' Stampin' INKspiration...EMBOSSING!  There are so many different ways to emboss...heat embossing, dry embossing, embossing folders...so MANY ways!

I chose to use one of my favorite embossing folders and some heat embossing on this card. I used the Core'dinations cardstock in the embossing folder and sanded it down in places...I {HEART} this paper, in every single color!  It's a bit hard to see in the picture, but the star and the "a" with the little banners are all heat embossed to give the images a little more of a shiny effect than ink.
Supplies Used:
Paper ~ Coastal Cabana, Coastal Cabana Core'dinations, Whisper White, Basic Black, Fresh Prints DSP
Ink ~ Coastal Cabana, VersaMark
Stamp Set ~ Perfect Pennants
Other Supplies ~ Coastal Cabana Ruffle Stretch Trim, Basic Black Taffeta Ribbon, Alphabet Press Embossing Folder, Black Embossing Powder, Banner Framelits, Rhinestone Basics, Black Sharpie
Be sure to check out all of the other embossing techniques used by the other awesome SSInk Design Team too!

Heavy Metal Birthday

The girls over at SSInkspiration are a creating with metallics today!  Between the fun foil papers, embossing powders and metallic ink pads, you can create some pretty awesome projects!
I decided to use all of the silver metallic products I had to create today's card...

Supplies Used:
Paper ~ Night of Navy, Smoky Slate, Whisper White, Regals Collection DSP
Ink ~ Night of Navy, Silver Metallic Encore, Versa Mark
Stamp Set ~ Perfect Pennants
Other Supplies ~ Alphabet Press Embossing Folder, Arrows Textured Impressions Embossing Folder, Chevron Embossing Folder, Whisper White Bakers Twine, Banners Framelits, Silver Embossing Powder

To create the metallic design on my banners, I inked up my Chevron Embossing folder with the Silver Metallic ink and placed the Night of Navy banners inside. I pressed down the outside of the embossing folder to stamp the image on the banners.  I used the same technique for the Smoky Slate Arrow banners as well, but instead of just stamping the image on the banners, I actually ran them through the Big Shot to add a little more texture to the card.

I hope I've INKspired you to CREATE something today!

Now head on over to SSInk  to see all of the other great metallic creations from our design team!

Happy Stamping!

Backyard {Basics} Egg Hunt

Good Sunday morning friends!  Any stampin' plans today?  It's kind of a drizzly day here today...perfect day to spend in my craft room :-)  Last night I had my Burlap and Blooms wreath class and we all had so much fun!  I had 18 crafty ladies packed into my house...we laughed, we wrapped (burlap), we glued and we ate.  This is what I love most about Stampin' Up!...the friendships that have been made and all the fun we have!
Before everyone arrived last night, I did have a bit of time to sneak in a little stamping time.  I'm trying to stay ahead of the game and decided it was time to work on some Easter creations.  This card might just be one we make in my March Stamp Clubs :-)
Confession time...I have had a pack of Natural Composition paper for well over a year and this is only the second time I've used it.  WHY?!?!?!  This paper is gorgeous with the shiny, embossed patterns!  It was the perfect paper for my card!

Supplies Used:
Paper ~ Baked Brown Sugar, Soft Sky, Eastern Elegance DSP, Watercolor paper, Natural Composition Specialty
Ink ~ Smoky Slate, Crumb Cake, Soft Sky, Metallic Gold, VersaMark
Stamp Sets ~ Backyard Basics, Delightful Dozen, Gorgeous Grunge
Other Supplies ~ Tea Lace Paper Doilies, Very Vintage Designer Buttons, Gold Bakers Twine, Gold Embossing Powder

Wondering where that gold button came from?  I embossed one of the Very Vintage Designer Buttons with gold embossing powder.  This picture doesn't do it justice...it is beautiful!

I have some ideas in my head for an Easter basket to go along with this card...now it's time to see if I can bring those ideas to life!

Happy Stamping!

Zoo Baby Birthday

Happy, Happy Tuesday stampin' friends!  I am so happy to have Monday behind me...it kicked my booty yesterday!  As annoyed as I was that my doctor only let me work part time last week, I am thankful he did after my first full day back yesterday...wowzers!!!  It was a long, crazy day and I was happy to unwind in my craft room last night after the kiddos went to bed.
A friend asked me to make a birthday card for a sweet little boy who will soon be celebrating his 1st birthday.  She told me he loves the going to the zoo to see all of the animals, so I thought Zoo Babies would make for a fun card for him.  With some sketch inspiration from Fab Friday I came up with this cute little card...
Supplies Used:
Paper ~ Gumball Green Core'dinations, Bermuda Bay, Whisper White, Birthday Basics DSP
Ink ~ Raspberry Ripple, Gumball Green, Summer Starfruit, Basic Gray, Bermuda Bay, Crisp Cantaloupe
Stamp Set ~ Zoo Babies
Other Supplies ~ Starburst Framelits, Alphabet Press Embossing Folder, Summer Starfruit Stitched Satin Ribbon

I'm having to get a bit creative these days with the photos of my cards!  The weather hasn't been kind enough to let me take pictures in my favorite outdoor spot, so I've had to find a few well lit spots inside my house.  I'm thinking it's time to make a light box :-)

Hope you all have a fabulous day!

Rockin' the Faux Hawk

Happy Monday stampin' friends!  It's time for this months scrapbook layout sketch over at Stylin' Stampin' INKspiration.  I look forward to these every month because it helps me stay on top of my Family Year Book.
We have a fun sketch for you play with this month!  Don't forget to link up and share your creations with us!

A few weeks ago my twins decided they wanted to try and grow their hair out a bit.  It took some convincing to get my husband to agree, but he finally gave them the ok.  We are in the early stages, but they love the fact that they can style it now!  I'm sure you'll see a few more pages from me as their hair changes...it's pretty awesome seeing their personalities come out in their style!
I did a mirror image of this page to create a two page layout...

Thanks for stopping by today!  Don't forget to check out and rest of the Design Team's take on the sketch!  And more importantly, don't forget to play along!

Spring Inspired ~ Monday Montage

Hello and welcome back to another Monday Montage blog hop!  I hope you love all of the creations that all of these amazing ladies have come up with this week...I know I do!

I don't know about you, but I am longing for warm spring days and spending time working in my yard.  I love playing in the dirt almost as much as I love playing with paper and ink!  While we've still got a few more weeks of this cold, wet, wintry weather ahead of us, I am doing my part to bring a bit of spring into our house.  As I was looking for some ideas for decorating my mantel this morning, I was inspired by some pretty spring colors and roses and decided it was time to finally pull out the new Spiral Flower Die!
I'll be honest...I was a little bit intimidated by this die at first, but as soon as I cut my first flower out, all fear was gone!  These are so super easy to put together and so pretty!
Supplies Used:
Paper ~ Very Vanilla, Blushing Bride, Old Olive, Modern Medley
Ink ~ Basic Gray, Metallic Gold
Stamp Sets ~ Off the Grid, Gorgeous Grunge
Other Supplies ~ Gold Bakers Twine, Gold Sequin Trim, Brights Candy Dots, Spiral Flower Die, Little Leaves Sizzlits

Now it's time to hop on over to Cathy and I promise her post will WOW you once again.  Or if you prefer to hop backwards, you can head on back to the amazing creation by Amy ...she inspires me each and every week!  Either way, just make sure you make the whole loop and don't miss any of us.  And don't forget to leave us some love on our blogs...we love hearing from you!

Thanks for hopping along with us today!

There's a Birthday in the {Fire} House

Hi Stampin' Friends and Happy Saturday!  It's a gloomy, rainy day here...boo!  Now that our snow is all gone, I am officially ready for spring, sunshine and warm weather!  My day has already been packed full of cleaning, grocery shopping and laundry.  We'll soon be off to a soccer game, followed by a night out at the annual crab fee....yummy!  We'll be joining a group of my hubby's co-workers, which will guarantee a fun night for all!  One of the guys, and a very good friend of ours, from his shift has a birthday today, so I of course had to make him a card.  I found this cute punch art fire hydrant by Andi at Absolute Kreations card a while back on Pinterest and tucked it away in one of my folders because I knew I would use it some day.   Be sure to check out the link for Andi's site for her awesome instructions for the hydrant.
I decided I wanted the fire hydrant to look a little antiqued, so I crumpled all of the pieces up, smoothed them back out and sponged them a little with some silver ink.
Supplies Used:
Paper ~ Real Red, Pumpkin Pie, Whisper White, Silver Foil
Ink ~ Basic Black, Metallic Silver
Stamp Sets ~ Teeny Tiny Wishes, Designer Type Photopolymer (sold out)
Other Supplies ~ Large Oval Punch, 1" Circle Punch, 1-1/4" Circle Punch, Word Window Punch, Diamond Plate Embossing Folder (Cuddlebug) Silhouette Cameo (Maltese Cross)

I was worried that this would be a bit to juvenile for our friend, but my hubby thought it was awesome and asked if I would make a stack of these cards for all of the guys at his department!  Guess it will be ok :-)

As much as I would love to stay in and play in my craft room all day, it's time to get ready for the soccer game!  There's always tomorrow!

Happy Stamping!

Valentine {Golden} Anniversary

Happy Valentine's Day to all of you!  Do you go all out and celebrate Valentines Day or do you just look at it as another day?  We have a little of both in our house!  My kiddos, of course, made fun little Valentines for their friends at school and I made them some cute Valentine treats for their lunch today.  And since my hubby has to work today, my boys told me they would be my date and take me out for ice cream later today...I {heart} them!  My hubby and I decided long ago that we don't need to do anything for Valentines Day, but I broke the rules a little this year and got him a little sweet treat from the candy shop :-)
Ok, enough of my rambling and on to today's card!  My husbands aunt and uncle are celebrating their 50th wedding anniversary this weekend...what an amazing milestone!  They are the kindest people you will ever meet and I am sad we won't be able to join them for their celebration, but I will be sending them this card...

Paper ~ Very Vanilla, Champagne Glimmer Paper, Red Glimmer Paper
Ink ~ Jet Black StazOn, Gold Metallic Encore Pad
