A Unique Blog Hop

Hi friends!  Today I am sharing a card I made for a Unique Blog Hop that's happening in the world of blogging.  I was nominated by my crafty friend Katie over at Sweet n Spiffy.  Katie and I have been stamping together for a few years now and I love how we constantly inspire one another!

I have, yet another, birthday card to share with you.  See...I told you I had a lot of birthdays at the end of September and beginning of October!
I'm kind of hooked on the Four Feathers stamp set right now...it's kind of a fave!  I wanted a fun and cheerful card to send to my friend Ginny for her birthday, so I added the adorable little bird from the Hello Love hostess stamp set.  These two sets are cute together, don't ya think?!?!
Supplies Used:
Paper ~ Whisper White, Rich Razzleberry
Ink ~ Daffodil Delight (pad and Blendabilities), Old Olive, Tempting Turquoise, Rich Razzleberry (pad and Blendabilities)
Stamp Sets ~ Four Feathers, Hello Love (Hostess)

This hop also includes a bit about ourselves, so here I go:

What are you currently working on?  As usual, I have about 4 different things going on right now.  I'm preparing for my October Stamp Clubs, my Frightful Wreath Class as well as projects for SSINK and Hand Stamped Sentiments.

How does your work differ from others of its genre?  My style of stamping is constantly changing, so I can't really say that I have a specific style that separates me from the rest.

What inspires your work? How does your creative process work?  I love cruising through Pinterest for inspiration, but I also find it in magazines, store fronts, color combinations...I can find inspiration just about anywhere.  My creations usually start out with a vision in my mind, usually during my early morning runs.  This helps me run faster so I can get home and put those visions to work on paper :-)

Thanks for letting me share a little bit about myself with you!  I have nominated my Convention BFF and cyber running buddy, Cynthia Richards of Ink-A-Doodle Creations to share here amazing talent with you next week.  I love Cynthia's style of work...probably because our crafty minds think so much alike!  I have also nominated another fellow stamper and cyber running buddy, Diana Eichfeld of Stampin' Fun with Diana.  I love Diana's clean and simple style of stamping!  Both of these talented ladies will be sharing their creations with you next Monday, so be sure to check them out!

The Most Happiest Place...

...oh how I wish I could go back!
Don't these pictures just make you smile?!?!?  How can you look at Disney pictures and not?
We had so many fun pictures together from our trip...I could create a whole album from the 4 days we were there.  We had so much fun and we were both really good about taking LOTS of pictures....lots of fun memories for sure!

I used this weeks MDS Monday sketch to get me started.  I love wrapping text around the pictures!

Looking at this page makes me want to go back to Disneyland again so bad, but it will be a couple more years before I get to...boo!  Wendy, the lucky lady that she is, will be heading back there again next month!  I'm planning on living vicariously through the pictures she posts while she is there!

TTFN!  Happy Friday!

Endless {Feathered} Birthday Wishes

I'd like to start this post off with a big shout out to my momma to wish her and my aunt a very Happy 60th Birthday!!!  I think I posted this picture of them last year, but I'm gonna post it again because they are so darn cute :-)
My aunt is on the left and my mom is on the right

I'm posting this later than normal so my mom didn't snoop and see her birthday card before I had the chance to give it to her tonight when we all get together for a little celebration.
This is one of those cards that I just kept adding little things here and there...some days I just can't help myself!
Supplies Used:
Paper ~ Whisper White, Craft
Ink ~ Island Indigo, Pool Party
Stamp Set ~ Endless Birthday Wishes, Four Feathers
Other Supplies ~ 2-1/2" Circle Punch, Feathers Framelits, Naturals Chevron Ribbon, Siler Ribbon, Silver Bakers Twine (silver thread only), Frosted Sequins, MDS, e-cutter, Bird Builder Punch

I dusted off my Silhouette to cut out the "happy" sentiment, which comes from the Endless Birthday Wishes MDS stamp brush set.  I kinda love all of the sparkle and bling!

Hope you have all had a great day!  Thanks for stopping by!

Happy Stamping!

Celebrate Watercolor

Hi friends and Happy Wednesday!  The girls over at SSINKspiration are celebrating Watercolor Wednesday and I have a fun card to share with you too!  My mom and aunt (yes, they are twins...twins run wild on my moms side!) will be celebrating their 60th birthday tomorrow (WOO-HOO) and I have the card I made for my aunt to share with you today.  {You'll have to wait until tomorrow to see my momma's card;-)}
I am addicted to the Watercolor Paper and have been burning through it like crazy lately.  Using the Autumn Accents Bigz, I cut out some leaves and acorn and totally saturated each one using my aqua painter. Then I dropped a little drop of color straight from the re-inker on to each leaf and let them spread around to create their own colors...it was a little messy, but I love the end result!
Supplies Used:
Paper ~ Crumb Cake, Very Vanilla, Crushed Curry, Watercolor Paper
Ink ~ Crushed Curry, Cherry Cobbler, Cajun Craze, Old Olive, Crumb Cake
Stamp Set ~ Holiday Invitation
Other Supplies ~ Autumn Accents Bigz, Woodgrain Embossing Folder, Linen Thread, Gold Sequin Trim, Spiral Boarder Punch

Be sure to head on over and see all of the rest of the fabulous watercolor creations from the team!

Happy Stamping!

Wondrous Thankful Wreath

Happy Monday friends!  Did you find any time to stamp this weekend or were you out enjoying the last official weekend of summer?  I managed to do a little of both...yay!!!
I broke down and got the Wondrous Wreath Stamp Set and coordinating Wonderful Wreath Framelits...love them!  I kept telling myself I didn't need them, but I just couldn't resist! And after making this card, I'm pretty happy that I had that weak moment ;)
I found my inspiration for this card in two different challenges...CAS(E) This Sketch for the layout and The Friday Mashup for a little stitching fun!
Supplies Used:
Paper ~ Soft Suede, Cherry Cobbler, Very Vanilla, Flower Pot DSP
Ink ~ Crushed Curry, Soft Suede, Cherry Cobbler
Stamp Sets ~ Wondrous Wreath, Good Greetings (Hostess Set)
Other Supplies ~ Wonderful Wreath Framelits, Burlap Ribbon, Naturals Chevron Ribbon, Crystal Effects, Sewing Machine

I clearly need to play with my sewing machine more often and work on sewing in a straight line...the crooked stitches just add to the card, right?!?! ;-)  And you can see below the fun sketch...I'll be using this one again for sure!

Wishing you all a great week!

Happy Stamping!

While I can not bring myself to purchase the Visions of Santa stamp set (AKA Scary Santa's), I do love the Santa & Co. Run Disney ~ SSINK September Scrap Sketch

Happy Monday friends!  Hope you all had a fantastic weekend!  I don't know about you, but the weekend flew by way too fast...again!!  If only the work week went by as fast as the weekend...
But, here we are at Monday again, and that means it's time for a new challenge over SSINK.  This time it's a scrapbook layout...my favorite!
I have so many fun pictures from my trip to Disneyland last month, so of course I had to use some of those for this sketch!  This page is dedicated to the main reason for heading down to sunny California...the Disneyland Half Marathon!  This race was one of a kind and was SO.MUCH.FUN!   I hope to run another Disney race soon!

This page is pretty simple in the way of MDS supplies used.  Other than the firework bursts, the rest is just different fonts and photos...easy peasy!  I used a picture of the castle for my background, one of my favorite things to do on an MDS page!  The other photos were just dropped in to photo boxes and just like that, my page was done!

Be sure to head on over to check out the rest of the design teams creations.  Don't forget to join in the fun and play along too!  We love to see how we INKspire you to CREATE!

I {HEART} Summer

Happy Friday friends!  I don't even want to say it, but I think summer is just about done for us here...the days are getting shorter, the mornings are cooler and the days aren't quite as warm.  I dread this time every single year!  I love the long, hot summer days!  After our vacation in Florida this spring, I did all I could to try and convince my husband that we needed to move somewhere that was warm and sunny year round...but no luck.  I guess I'll just have to hold tight to all of our summer memories and look forward to next year!
And what better way to preserve our summer memories than MDS!  Yep, you guessed it...I've got another page to add to our family yearbook.  And this time, I'm playing along with the girls over at MDS Monday.  They have a fun sketch for this week!

We made quite a few trips to an area aquatic center this summer and had so much fun!  My twins faced their fear of the deep end and mastered the high dive and drop off slide...I was so proud of them!

Now I have this warm, sunny page to look back at this winter when it's cold and gray and I'm freezing cold :-)

Hope you all have a great weekend and get some stamping or MDS time in!

Happy Stamping!

One Layer Wonder

How many of you have trouble stopping at just one layer when you make a card?  It is the HARDEST thing for me!  I want to add more layers, more ribbon, more bling.  But there are times where I can stay in control and create a card with just one layer and I end up really liking it.
The girls over at SSINK are sharing some single layer cards today to give you some great ideas to create your own One Layer Wonder.
I pulled out my Endless Wishes stamp set (sooo happy this one carried over!) and made this simple, one layer card.

Paper ~ Whisper White, All is Calm DSP (on envelope)
Ink ~ Pear Pizzazz, Lost Lagoon, Soft Sky
Stamp Set ~ Endless Wishes

Hello Fall

Hi friends...Happy Monday!  It's been a week since my last post...yikes!  This doesn't mean I haven' been creating, but it does mean that last week was insanely BUSY!  Between getting back from Disneyland and jumping right into the back to school routine, life was a bit more chaotic.  Now that we have our first week under our belts, things should be running a bit more smoothly...at least I hope ;-)
I am so not ready for summer to end, but the cooler mornings and evenings are a sure sign that fall is on its way.  I am a sun shine, warm weather kind of girl, but I will admit, I love the beginning of fall too.  The warm, bright colors of the changing leaves, pumpkins, apple cider...those things make me happy!
It's the second Monday of the month, which means it's time for a new sketch over at SSInkspirationAnd since fall is quickly creeping up on us, I decided it was high time I started creating some fall cards too!

Supplies Used:
Paper ~ Crushed Curry, Soft Suede, Very Vanilla
Ink ~ Blackberry Bliss, Crushed Curry
Stamp Set ~ For All Things
Other Supplies ~ Linen Thread, Autumn Wooden Elements

Don't you just love that fun little wooden acorn?  And the warm fall colors?!?  Ok...I'm starting to let go of summer and embrace fall...lets just make sure it's a slow and gradual process, ok?!?

Thanks for stopping by today!  And be sure to check out all of the awesome creations from our design team and please join in the fun and play along!

Happy Stamping!

Happy Labor Day Monday!!!  It's time for a new color challenge over at SSINKspiration and I really hope you all play along!
I tried out the Bokeh technique on this card and can't wait to try it again!  The softness this technique gives the card such a calming effect.  You can check out a fabulous video HERE.
I also played along over at Freshly Made Sketches for a little sketch inspiration...love their clean and simple sketches!
Supplies Used:
Paper ~ Whisper White, Rich Razzleberry, Hello Honey, Calypso Coral, Brights DSP, Watercolor Paper
Ink ~ Rich Razzleberry, Hello Honey, Calypso Coral
