There's a Birthday in the {Fire} House

Hi Stampin' Friends and Happy Saturday!  It's a gloomy, rainy day here...boo!  Now that our snow is all gone, I am officially ready for spring, sunshine and warm weather!  My day has already been packed full of cleaning, grocery shopping and laundry.  We'll soon be off to a soccer game, followed by a night out at the annual crab fee....yummy!  We'll be joining a group of my hubby's co-workers, which will guarantee a fun night for all!  One of the guys, and a very good friend of ours, from his shift has a birthday today, so I of course had to make him a card.  I found this cute punch art fire hydrant by Andi at Absolute Kreations card a while back on Pinterest and tucked it away in one of my folders because I knew I would use it some day.   Be sure to check out the link for Andi's site for her awesome instructions for the hydrant.
I decided I wanted the fire hydrant to look a little antiqued, so I crumpled all of the pieces up, smoothed them back out and sponged them a little with some silver ink.
Supplies Used:
Paper ~ Real Red, Pumpkin Pie, Whisper White, Silver Foil
Ink ~ Basic Black, Metallic Silver
Stamp Sets ~ Teeny Tiny Wishes, Designer Type Photopolymer (sold out)
Other Supplies ~ Large Oval Punch, 1" Circle Punch, 1-1/4" Circle Punch, Word Window Punch, Diamond Plate Embossing Folder (Cuddlebug) Silhouette Cameo (Maltese Cross)

I was worried that this would be a bit to juvenile for our friend, but my hubby thought it was awesome and asked if I would make a stack of these cards for all of the guys at his department!  Guess it will be ok :-)

As much as I would love to stay in and play in my craft room all day, it's time to get ready for the soccer game!  There's always tomorrow!

Happy Stamping!

Graduation Season

Graduation season is here again...time for celebrations and moving forward in life.  I'll admit, I miss my boys being in pre-school and having their own little graduation at the end of the year.  It's not such a big deal at the elementary schools, but I always make sure to do something special on the last day of school and we have our own graduation celebration at home.  Looking forward to making some fun, crafty creations for the end of their 1st grade year.  Until then, I have a few graduation cards I was asked to make.  Two are for high school graduates and one is for an 8th grade graduate...fun!!!  With some extra help from Pinterest, I came up with these 3 cards:

Epic Anniversary, Dude!

My husband and I are celebrating our 9th anniversary today...how have the past 9 years gone by so fast!  It seems like we just bought our first house a couple years ago and now here we are with 3 kids and living in our second home...crazy!
I got the Dude, You're Welcome stamp set awhile back, but haven't had the chance to use it.  But when I got the This and That bundle with the Epic Day DSP, I knew I would use it to make my hubby an anniversary card.  He's not a lovey-dovey kind of guy, so this card is perfect for him!

This is the front of the card...
I snipped out a few of the hexagon shapes from the DSP for a little added color.  And the teeny, tiny little heart inside the cute clip was punched out using the Owl Punch.
And here is the inside...

The two circles on the DSP reminded me of wedding bands...perfect!

Supplies Used:
Paper ~ Crumb Cake, Whisper White, This and That Epic Day DSP
Ink ~ Crumb Cake, Pool Party, Gumball Green
Stamp Sets ~ Dude, You're Welcome, A Word for You, Paper Pumpkin (March Kit), Designer Type Photopolymer
Other Supplies ~ Elements Cute Clips, Owl Punch

If you've seem my past few posts, I've been using the DSP a TON.  LOVE it!!!  I'm currently working on a scrapbook page using the This and That items and it is AWESOME!  But, you'll have to wait to see it...it's for a special project!

My hubby has to teach tonight, so we won't be doing anything fun to celebrate our anniversary, but we hope to squeeze something in this weekend!

Happy Stamping!
