Mountain Air Anniversary

Happy Good Friday stampers!  I hope you have had a fabulous week!  It was our spring break this week, which was full of sunshine and fun at home.  As we wrap up the week, my hubby and I are celebrating our 16th anniversary.  I am not sure where 16 years have gone because it seems like our wedding was just a couple of years ago.  I guess that's what happens when you are having fun!

As soon as I saw the Mountain Air bundle in the Occasions Catalog, I knew it was a must have!  We are a family who loves the outdoors...take us to the beach or the mountains and we are happy campers!

I used some pretty colors to try to match our Blue Mountains...I think these are pretty close.  The only thing missing is the little bit of snow left up at the top, but that will soon be gone with all of the warm weather we have been having.

The layout for this card came from a fun sketch that my dear friend Cynthia sent me as part of a little "quarantine crafting challenge".  I love the stripes!

Supplies Used:

Paper ~ Crumb Cake, Balmy Blue, Mossy Meadow, Old Olive, Mossy Meadow, Whisper White

Ink ~ Highland Heather, Mango Melody, Night of Navy, Mossy Meadow

Stamp Sets ~ Mountain Air, Itty Bitty Greetings

Other Supplies ~ Pinewood Planks 3D Embossing Folder, Majestic Mountain Dies

We didn't have any big anniversary plans as we are usually in the midst of baseball this time of year.  We will likely spend the day working in the yard, which we both actually love!  And hopefully on Saturday we can find our way to the mountains for a little hiking...as long as we can find an area that isn't closed.

Have a fantastic Friday!

Happy Stamping!

Tropical Wishes ~ Monday Montage

Welcome to an all new Monday Montage Blog Hop!  You won't want to miss a single creation from this amazing group of stampers!

I don't know about you, but I was very happy to have a crafty distraction this weekend!  We received information late Friday afternoon that all schools in our state would be shutting down for 6 weeks, effective Tuesday, March 17th.  We had a pretty good idea this was coming, but did not think it would be for this long.  Thankfully, our school district has blessed us with an amazing superintendent who has been planning for this for the past two weeks, so we are somewhat ahead of the game...but there is still so much left to be figured out and rolled out to students and families.  So, as I said, I was VERY happy to have a crafty distraction this weekend!
Most of you know by now that I LOVE to fussy cut!  It is my go-to when I need some craft-therapy.  Fussy cutting is something that calms me and helps me to quiet my mind when so many other things want to over take it.  The Tropical Oasis Memories & More Card Pack has so many great images that were absolutely perfect for a few special request cards my friend asked me to make for her.

I love these beautiful Lily flowers...they are one of my favorites that I have in my own yard.  I can't wait for them to begin blooming in a few months!  I cut these beauties out and added them to a few beautiful layers of stamped card stock, Tropical Oasis DSP and a Coastal Weave embossed piece of card stock.  The card was finished off with the beautiful birthday sentiment from Timeless Tropical.

And who doesn't love a pineapple?!?!  Honestly, the pineapples are what sold me!  I had to have the ENTIRE Tropical Oasis suite all because of the pineapples!  Again I stamped, embossed and layered everything up before I added the fussy cut pineapple and Thank You sentiment.

I saved my favorite for last!  My friend needed a card for her niece's 21st birthday, which she will be celebrating in Maui.  This tasty coconut drink was meant to be!  And the fun fruity DSP is my favorite in the pack!  And I know....the Large Number Dies are retired, but they are dies that I will keep and use forever.

Supplies Used:

Paper ~ Soft Suede, Pretty Peacock, So Saffron, Mint Macaron, Lovely Lipstick, Petal Pink, Grapefruit Grove

Ink ~ Lovely Lipstick, Grapefruit Grove, Pretty Peacock, So Saffron, Soft Suede

Stamp Sets ~ Timeless Tropical, Piece of Cake

Other Supplies ~ Stitched Rectangles, Stitched Shapes, Large Numbers (retired)

As we head in to a new week, I pray that we all stay healthy and united as a country as we face what ever comes our way.  I am still uncertain what my job will consist of as our schools close for 6 weeks, but a little part of me is hoping that it will consist of working a bit more from home so I can sneak in a little more crafting time.

Stay well friends!

Thanks for stopping by today!  Now, on to the next stop on the hop!

Sentimental Thanks

Hello friends! I hope your week is off to a great start so far!  Things have been good on my end and I'm hoping it stays that way.

I've been on a bit of a watercolor kick lately and wanted to share my latest creation with you.

I don't own So Sentimental or the coordinating Stitched So Sweetly Dies {yet}, so I took full advantage of borrowing the bundle from my stampin' BFF, Wendy, while she was here visiting.  I stamped a few images and cutting them out to use at a later time.

Inspired by colors from my bedspread, I watercolored the pretty flowers from Happy Birthday To You and cut them out with the coordinating Birthday Dies.  I created a soft Night of Navy watercolor background, which really makes the Night of Navy sentiment and Granny Apple Green leaves make a bold statement!

Supplies Used:

Paper ~ Whisper White, Night of Navy, Granny Apple Green, Watercolor

Ink ~ Night of Navy, Granny Apple Green, Lovely Lipstick, Calypso Coral, Petal Pink, VersaMark

Stamp Sets ~ So Sentimental, Happy Birthday To You

Other Supplies ~ Stitched So Sweetly Dies, Birthday Dies, White Embossing Powder

We have been blessed with some beautiful weather since the time change last weekend, so I am finding it difficult to stay inside when I get home in the afternoons, but I promise I will be back later this week with more to share!

Have a terrific day!

Happy Stamping!

#TGIFC248 Catalog Covers Inspiration

Happy Friday stampers!  It's my favorite day of the week!  Not just because it means the weekend is here, but because it's time for an all new TGIF Challenges!  This week we are bringing you some amazing projects inspired by the 2020 Occasions and Sale-a-Bration Catalogs!

Stampin' Up! did a beautiful job designing the front of the 2020 Occasions Catalog. All of the samples featuring the Peaceful Poppies suite are absolutely beautiful!  I loved the sample with the circles of Peaceful Poppies DSP and the bold Poppy Parade flowers.  This is where my inspiration came from for today's card.

Rather than using card stock for the flowers, I used the DSP.  I love the pattern that has the large watercolored poppies with splatters.  Adding the black die cut outline really made the flowers pop! I selected a few other coordinating DSP patterns to create the circle background and finished it off with a Happy Birthday tag from the Peaceful Moments stamp set.

Supplies Used:

Paper ~ Whisper White, Basic Black, Poppy Parade, Peaceful Poppies DSP

Ink ~ VersaMark

Stamp Set ~ Peaceful Moments

Other Supplies ~ Whisper White Bakers Twine, Poppy Moments Dies

Be sure to head on over to see what inspired the rest of our design team and be sure to share your inspiration too!

Happy Stamping!

Peaceful Happiness

 Happy Tuesday!

We had our first snow storm of the season, which has resulted in a two-hour school delay...hooray!  Working for the school district means I get to follow the same schedule as my kiddos, which means I have two extra hours this morning!

Since it's cold and snowy here, I thought I would share something warm and flowery!  The Peaceful Poppies DSP is absolutely gorgeous!  I'm not sure which artist designed this paper, but whoever did is AMAZING! I love all of the rich, beautiful colors and designs.

I cut the flower images from the DSP using the background flower Poppy Moments Dies, outlining them in black. I love the way this makes the flowers pop!  I threw in a little extra splash of color using the fun splatter images from the Painted Poppies stamp set.  The whimsical stentiment is from the Peaceful Moments stamp set, which is also included in the Peaceful Poppies Suite.

I finished off the card with just a few little Peaceful Poppies Sequins...just the right amount of bling!

Supplies Used:

Paper ~ Basic Black, Whisper White, Poppy Parade, Peaceful Poppies DSP

Ink ~ Poppy Parade, Memento

Stamp Sets ~ Painted Poppies, Peaceful Moments

Other Supplies ~ Poppy Moments Dies, Peaceful Poppies Sequins

Thanks for stopping by today!  I am hoping to be back later in the week with more to share...and secretly hoping for another delay this week!

Have a great day!

Happy Stamping!

Tropical Birthday Wishes ~ Monday Montage

Welcome to an all new Monday Montage Blog Hop!  You won't want to miss a single creation from this amazing group of stampers!

After spending a better part of the day wrapping gifts, I needed a little break from Christmas.  We have a special friend celebrating her birthday today and I needed the perfect card, just for her.  The Tropical Oasis suite items had not yet been put away and were practically begging to be used again!  So I put them to work to create not one, but two tropically perfect cards!

The patterns in the Tropical Oasis DSP pack are so bright and colorful...you feel like you are right there on a warm sunny beach enjoying all of the beautiful sights, sounds and flavors.  And the Coastal Wave 3D Embossing Folder is my new FAVORITE!  The texture this embossing folder creates is amazing!

I played around with a couple different patterns of DSP and a few different stamps and dies from the Timeless Tropical bundle.  The tiny pineapple and palms trees are beautiful!  I love that you can use this suite for anyone!

Supplies Used:

Paper ~ Whisper White, Terracott Tile, Grapefruit Grove, Pool Party, Soft Suede, Old Olive, Tropical Oasis DSP

Ink ~ Old Olive, Soft Suede, Daffodil Delight, Mango Melody, Grapefruit Grove, Pretty Peacock

Stamp Sets ~ Timeless Tropical, Peaceful Moments

Other Supplies ~ Painted Labels Dies, In The Tropics Dies, Subtle Embossing Folder, Coastal Weave 3D Embossing Folder, Tropical Oasis Trinkets, Layering Circles Dies

My break from Christmas is over. Are you all ready for the holiday?  I still have a few little things to purchase and a little bit of baking left before I can say I'm ready, but I'm so close!

Make sure to check out the rest of the hop...you won't be disappointed!

Peaceful Poppy Thoughts

Happy Monday stampin' friends!

Another weekend has come and gone...and it went by way too fast!  I had a to-do list that was a mile long, but the arrival of my pre-order pushed a few of those things to the back burner so I could play with at least ONE of the new suites I got!

The Peaceful Poppies Suite was the first must have on my list.  I absolutely love poppies and the colors in this suite are gorgeous!

I also love that Stampin' Up! coordinated not one, but two stamp set and die bundles.  The poppy images are beautiful and the sentiments are perfectly paired.

Supplies Used:

Paper ~ Black Berry Bliss, Whisper White, Velum, Peaceful Poppies DSP

Ink ~ Blackberry Bliss, VersaMark

Stamp Sets ~ Painted Poppies, Peaceful Moments

Other Supplies ~ Poppy Moments Dies, Painted Labels Dies, Whisper White Crinkled Seam Binding Ribbon, Peaceful Poppies Sequins, White Embossing Powder

I was a bit overwhelmed by my pre-order box and didn't know what to use first.  I went to my favorite sketch challenge site, Freshly Made Sketches, and was instantly inspired!  Yay!!

The next few weeks are packed full for my little family, but I am hoping to squeeze more creative time in here and there, so be sure to check back soon!

Happy Stamping!
