Runnin' with Mickey and Friends ~ Monday Montage

As you're reading this, I'm in the air making my way home from four amazingly awesome days in Disneyland with Wendy...it really is the happiest place on earth when I get to hang with her!  We walked our little feet off every day we were there and BRIGHT and early this morning we RAN our little feet off!  13.1 miles to be exact!  It was a little slow going with thousands of runners all around us...and HOT...but it was FUN!  We got separated at the Anaheim Angels stadium, so we didn't get to cross the finish line together, but we were close!  So, of course I had to do an MDS page for all of our fun today!

 

 

I will update a bit later with all of my MDS supplies I used :-)

Birthday Wishes at the Happiest Place on Earth

Squeal...yay....yippee!!!   I'm on my way to the happiest place on earth...DISNEYLAND!!!  One year ago, exactly, my Utah BFF Wendy asked me if I wanted to do the Disney half marathon with her the following Labor Day weekend.  It took me all of about 3 seconds to say HECK YES!!!  So here we are, making our way to Disneyland to not only run together, but to celebrate Wendy's birthday too.  Her birthday is today, so join me in wishing her a HAPPY BIRTHDAY!!! 

Those of you who know Wendy knows she LOVES all things Disney, so of course I had to make her another Mickey card this year!

Howdy Cowboy

Howdy Cowboy!  Our annual fair kicks off today and our town is filled with cowboys and cowgirls alike.  We are kind of mean parents and usually avoid the fair, which I know we won't be able to get away with for much longer, but we do always make it to the parade on Saturday.  But this year, we will be missing it all!!!  My hubby and boys are heading out for a few days at the lake with my mother-in-law and I am heading to....DISNEYLAND!!!  I've got a ton to get done today, in addition to a full day of work, so I can't go in to all the fun details, but be sure to check back, okay?!?!?

Picture Perfect ~ Display Board Samples

 

Picture Perfect...that is how our summer has been!  We have had endless adventures all summer long and they haven't stopped yet.  We've got another day at the pool planned for today and lots more in store next week...the last week of summer break....boo :-(

 

I have another Display Board Sample to share with you today and it's a fun little cork tile embellished with some of the awesome Everyday Adventure Project Life Cards and Embellishments.  I had so much fun with this that I made two more for my Convention buddies, but I forgot to take pictures of them!

Happy Birthday, Deer

Happy Wednesday and Happy Birthday to my hubby! 

 

For those who know my husband, he is an AVID hunter and as hunting season gets closer, he gets a little bit crazier with each passing day.  Buck fever is putting it mildly.  And now that my twins are showing interest, it's all I hear about. 

 

I loved the big ol' buck from the Remembering Christmas stamp set in last years Holiday catalog and was super sad it didn't carry over.  That buck is perfect for all the guys in my family who love to hunt.  While I was sad to see this set go, I was happy to see a cute little buck in the White Christmas stamp set in this years Holiday catalog.  I had something a little different than this card in mind when I started, so it didn't turn out quite like I had planned, but it will work!

Got MUD?

Happy {MDS} Monday!  It's that time again...time for a new layout with the girls over at SSINK!  I had some fun with this one!

 

Every Memorial Day weekend our friends hold a weekend long party, AKA Wordensock.  It's something we all look forward to every year, especially the day Dirty Dodgeball takes place.  What is Dirty Dodgeball you ask?  Do you remember playing dodgeball in PE when you were younger?  Well...take that game to a giant mud pit and you have Dirty Dodgeball!

 

My twins made a point to see who could get the muddiest this year, and I'm pretty sure Hunter won.  That boy had mud EVERYWHERE! 

 

This page is pretty basic..not much used in the way of stamps.  I used a few of the different splatters and circles, added a sunburst and I was done!  THIS is why I love MDS so much...in a very short amount of time, a page is done and added to my family year book...love it!

Four Feathers Birthday ~ Monday Montage

As soon as I saw these Four Feathers and coordinating framelits, I HAD to have them...LOVE them!  This card is kinda bright and a bit busy, but in the words of my good friend Cynthia, some cards call to be busy :-)

It's pretty hard to see in the picture, but I pulled out some of the gold thread from the Gold Bakers Twine and tucked it in behind the feathers for just a little added bling.

A Little Kindness Goes a Long Way - Display Board Samples

Whew..finally back with another Display Board Sample with my favorite stamp set EVER...Kinda Eclectic.  Seriously, the possibilities with this stamp set are endless!  I kept this one really clean and simple...

I'm thankful I made an extra one of this card...I will be hand delivering this to my good friend Amy, who filled my shoes as a mommy to one of my boys yesterday.  My hubby and 3 boys set off on a long weekend get away yesterday, which I will surprise them by joining them tomorrow :-).  They caravanned with some of the other families that are going and they all stopped for lunch in Hood River.  After spending nearly 4 hours in the truck, the boys were anxious to get out and were being boys, horsing around and chasing each other.  Well, Aidan wasn't watching where he was going and ran smack into a pole.  Getting a picture like this when you are away from your babies is not fun...

My hubby reassured me numerous times that he was ok and that it really looked worse than it really was.  Being that my hubby is a paramedic, I knew my boy was in good hands, but it was not easy as a mom to not be there for my baby when he was hurting :-(  My sweet friend Amy texted me later to let me know the swelling had gone way down and that he was totally fine.  Thank you Amy for keeping an eye on him and keeping me updated!  Needless to say, our family pictures for next week have been put on hold...boys!  I'm just happy he is ok and everyone is having fun!  I can't wait to meet up with all of them tomorrow!

Celebrating SSINK

I can't believe this amazing group of ladies has been INKspiring you for a year already!  Time really does fly when you are having fun!  I love the creative inspiration that is posted every week day...something I look forward to seeing every morning.  The friendships that have formed from this group are ones that will last forever! 

I was lucky enough to meet up with some of our SSINK girls at Convention last month.  We swapped...we ate...we had fun!!!  I can not wait to see all of them, and hopefully the rest of the team, next year!

In honor of our one year anniversary, I decided to do an MDS page with some of the fabulous pictures from Convention.

 

 

I continue to be INKspired by these wonderful ladies every week.  Not only do we create together, we celebrate together, we cry together...no matter what we are always there for each other in one way or another.

Kinda Eclectic Gift Box ~ Convention Display Samples

 

I'm back with another Convention Display Board project with the stamp set Kinda Eclectic.  I love this stamp set and the endless possibilities it offers!  Be sure to click on the button above to see all of the other display samples on our Pinterst board.

 

I used one of the Tag a Bag Gift Boxes and made a belly band and tag for it.  This little creation did make the boards at Convention, but somewhere along the way, the tag came off...I was kind of bummed, but still happy the rest of the box was up there!

Choose Happiness

Hi friends!  Made it through another manic Monday and on to a new day!  Life has been pretty crazy and stressful for me the past few weeks and I was letting it get the best of me.  But then I read an amazing post from Shelli at So-Shelli yesterday and kind of had a reality check of my own.  Life is too short to let little stresses weigh you down!  And not only was I inspired by Shelli's words, but also by her stamping at convention with the Choose Happiness stamp set.  With her words in mind and some creative inspiration too, I pulled out my paper, stamps and ink and got to work.

Being that's it's Tuesday, it means it's time for Techinque Tuesday at SSINK.  Today we are stamping with embossing folders!!!  We all know that embossing folders are a great way to add some texture to your cards, but did you know that they make a great background stamp as well?
