Hello, Mr. Grey Deer

Boy am I ever glad it is Friday!  We had a CRAZY windstorm yesterday, which resulted in a big tree branch torpedoing through our roof into my boys bedroom.  Thankfully, none of them were in their room playing, as they typically are that time of day.  It was a scramble to get things cleaned up on the inside, especially with my hubby being gone at work, but with the help of our fire family and my dad, we got the inside taken care of!  The outside is finally all boarded up, but not before we had some minor leaking due to the pouring rain.  With all of the stress weighing me down, I headed into my craft room early this morning for a little craft therapy...it does the soul some good :-)
I pulled out some fun Taylor Expressions Dies I've had for a while and decided to play along with this weeks Friday Mashup where the challenge was to use Basic Grey or Smoky Slate & Silver.
I used Smoky Slate Cardstock and Silver Metallic Ink for this card...perfect for a wintery card!
Supplies Used:
Paper ~ Smoky Slate, Whisper White, Real Red, Silver Glimmer Paper
Ink ~ Silver Metallic Encore Ink
Stamp Set ~ Holiday Home
Other Supplies ~ Frosted Sequins, Rhinestone Basic Jewels, Taylored Expressions Birch Tree and coordinating Die Cuts (non-SU)

I will say that I am very thankful we are dealing with rain and 60+ degree temps rather than the freezing rain and below freezing temps we had last week...that would not have been fun with a hole in our roof!

Here's to hoping for a fun and uneventful weekend!!

Happy Stamping!

  2. Glad to hear your boys were NOT in the bedroom when the tree branch decided to join your household! Hope you've had a chance to start repairing that mess this week. Your card is stunning! Wish I had a stamp or framelit with Birch trees...love how they look on cards! Love the pop of your red cardinal too. :) Thanks for playing with us at the Friday Mashup.
