Great Guy Gone Fishing

Welcome to the latest Hand Stamped Sentiments Sketch Challenge!  This is such a fun and versatile sketch...I can't wait to see what everyone is inspired to create!

Father's Day is coming up this weekend and this sketch was perfect to showcase some of the amazing Let's Go Fishing DSP!
Three of the layers were cut from various patterns of DSP...which one is your favorite?!?  A little texture was added by embossing a piece of Wild Wheat with the Twisted Rope 3D embossing folder.

More DSP was brought in with the fussy cult salmon and fishing pole. I love all of the different fish that are included in this pack of designer paper!

When you have such amazing DSP, you don't always need a lot stamped images.  All this card needed was a fly and a sentiment.  I opted for To a Great Guy from Wildlife Wonder, leaving the inside for a Father's Day sentiment.

Thanks for dropping by today!

Gone Fishing

Hooray for Friday and an all new TGIF Challenges Theme Challenge!  Today we are creating something fantastic for all the men in our lives.  Whether it's Father's Day, a birthday or just because, we have some fabulous projects to share!

The all new Let's Go Fishing Collection is perfect for all of the fisherman in your life. All of the lures, fish, sentiments and amazing Gone Fishing Dies are the best!

I created a lake scene with the water die, tucking a bobber in between the ripples to entice the fish swimming below.  A simple sentiment and a little lure finished this card off. I love how simple it is...perfect for any dad who loves to fish!

Be sure to check out the rest of the design team creations for some inspiration and join along in the fun!

Ride On, It's Your Birthday

Are you ready to kick off the weekend with a new TGIF Challenges Sketch?!?  This one is a ton of fun with so many possibilities!

I flipped the sketch vertically and may have added a few extra elements...but you can still see the sketch, right???  I always love a good masculine suite and Ready to Ride does not disappoint! Using the Stamparatus, I inked up the motorcycle in Memento Tuxedo Black.  I inked and stamped the image twice, something I love to do when stamping a solid black image.
Do you have the Ready to Ride DSP yet?  The black foil that is mixed in with some of the patterns is so awesome and is perfect for that official biker look!  I softened things up just a bit by adding a fussy cut bunch of roses from one of the patterns.

A little Silver Foil embossed Metal Plate 3D Embossing folder added just a bit more ruggedness, along with a few Adhesive Backed Studs.

Be sure to check out the rest of the TGIF Designers projects and join along in the fun!

Another Round of Birthday Brews

The weekend is here and there is nothing better, in my crafty world, than starting the day off with some stamping!  This weeks Freshly Made Sketches offered inspiration for a Brewed for You birthday card.

Since I still had some pieces of He's The Man DSP out on my desk I put them to good use for this sketch with the Basic Boarders Dies.  I love the BBQ patterns, which go together so well with the Brewed For You stamp set and Brewed Dies.

To create a frosty glass look, I die cut the mug and growler from a piece of Vellum, layered on top of Crushed Curry.  Foamy bubbles topped the mug and a little hop was tucked behind for the perfect pop of color.

A sentiment heat embossed on Mint Macaron added a little more color and some white Classic Matt Dots were the perfect little embellishments for this round of birthday brews.

I am working on a masculine theme class for the month of June and this card will be added to the mix for sure!  I always love a great manly stamp set!

I hope your weekend is off to a great start and you find some time to get crafty!

Let Your Dreams Set Sail

Welcome to an all new Monday Montage blog hop! Hop along and see all of the amazing creations we have for you this week!

The Crafty Carrot Collective is featuring their masculine tutorials this month and Let's Set Sail is one of the stamp sets selected by the fabulous Cindy Schuester.  Cindy shared her sneak peek and her tutorial using this stamp set, which were the inspiration for my card.

I created the sky and sea background with the "water" stamp, using Pool Party and Starry Sky. The sailboat sails were stamped in Crushed Curry and Sweet Sorbet and perfectly punched out with the Sailboat Builder Punch.  These bright colors are just full of summer vibes!

A few crumpled up strips of crumb cake added a little extra texture, along with the Timber 3D embossing folder.  Some Starry Sky Bakers Twine and a little Resin Star Embellishment were the perfect final touches!  With graduation season upon us, I thought this sentiment would be perfect!

Keep on hopping...forward or backward.  Either way you go, just make sure you hop all the way through!

Wildlife Wonder Birthday Wishes

Happy Wednesday and Happy Birthday to my dad!

Today's card features the new Wildlife Wonder stamp set, combined with Mountain Air.  I'm always so excited when new masculine stamp sets hit the catalog!  Wildlife Wonder will certainly get a lot of use with all of the outdoor men in my life!

I created a blended background using the Blending Brushes and shades of Misty Moonlight, Pale Papaya, Old Olive and Crumb Cake.  This created the perfect setting for some snow-capped Mountain Air mountains.
The big ol' bear was stamped in Early Espresso and fussy cut...my favorite thing to do!  A single Evening Evergreen tree added just a bit more to the mountain scene.  I stamped and heat embossed a couple of the sentiments from Wildlife Wonder, along with the "DAD" sentiment from Hats Off.  These were fussy cut and pieced together for the perfect birthday sentiment for my Dad!

I can't wait to create even more projects with this beautiful stamp set...I just need to find the time!  I started a new job this week, which is a few more hours a week...which means a few less hours of stamp time.  I'll be taking advantage of my weekends a lot more now!

Thanks for stopping by today!

Celebrating All of the Dad's

Father's Day is tomorrow, but we celebrated a little early as we are headed out of town for a long overdue vacation!  I'm a little sad I won't be with my dad on Sunday, but I am so happy we were able to celebrate early.

Once again, the World of Good suite is coming through to help create a great card!  By adding "Dad" to this sentiment, I had the perfect Father's Day card.
I love all of the rich colors in the World of Good Specialty DSP.  And the Old World Paper Embossing Folder is SO AMAZING!  The texture it adds is the best!  After embossing the map pattern of DSP, I tore the edges and sponged a little Soft Suede them.  I love how it turned out.

The World Map dies in this suite are stunning! There is so much you can do with this entire suite.

Supplies Used:
Paper ~ Very Vanilla, Soft Suede, Misty Moonlight, World of Good Specialty DSP, Gold Foil
Ink ~ Misty Moonlight, Soft Suede, VersaMark
Stamp Sets ~ Beautiful World, A Good Man
Other Supplies ~ Old World Paper 3D Embossing Folder, Tasteful Labels Dies, World Map Dies

Thank you for stopping by today!  I will be back a bit later this week with a few more creations to share.

Happy Stamping!

A Rare Dad

Why did I wait so long to use this super fun stamp set?!?!
This set may no longer be available, but I am so happy I got my hands on it!  Sharing these fun cards is a fun way to bid a fond farewell to the Mini Catalog!
Being the coloring fool that I am, of course I had to color all of the tasty barbecue treats, which look good enough to eat!  I stamped the grill and added a layer of Smoky Slate to help it stand out a bit more.  The sentiment was stamped in Memento on Mango Melody, which will now always remind me of cheese slices!
I stepped this card up a bit by fussy cutting the grill and a few of the foods, as well as a little flame.  I added a couple of colorful wonky layers and finished it off with the same sentiment. These will make the BEST Father's Day cards for the grill-loving-dads in my life!
Supplies Used:
Paper ~ Smoky Slate, Real Red, Mango Melody, Whisper White
Ink ~ Real Red, Mango Melody, Memento, Stampin' Blends:  Real Red, Mango Melody, Granny Apple Green, Daffodil Delight, Crumb Cake, Cajun Craze, Smoky Slate, Calypso Coral
Stamp Set ~ Outdoor Barbecue

Can you believe it?!?!  I didn't use ANY embellishments on this card...that almost NEVER happens!

I am so sad I waited so long to use this stamp set as we are saying good-bye to it today.  But I will be keeping it in my stash to use for more cards in the future.

Don't forget what tomorrow is...Annual Catalog release day!!!  I can't wait!

Happy Stamping!!!

Thanks for the Best Catch ~ HSSSC#338

I have lost track of what day of quarantine we are on, but I do know that today is Tuesday because we have an all new Hand Stamped Sentiments Challenge for you!  This week we have a great sketch for you to play along with and I can't wait to see what you all create!
I'm stamping my way through some of my favorite retiring items. Best Catch is one of my all time favorite masculine stamp sets and I am VERY sad that it is retiring!  This is one that I just can't part with!
My son, Hunter, is an avid fisherman and is currently going crazy not being able to fish.  We are hopeful that our stay home orders will be lifted on May 5th and that fishing will reopen.  In the meantime, Hunter has been organizing and reorganizing all of his fishing gear while he waits.  A few weeks ago, one of his teachers called and told him that he had some fishing gear that he was getting rid of and asked him to come take a look.  My kid came home with a HUGE duffle bag FULL of fishing gear.  His day was made, as was his teachers!  I love the fishing/hunting bond that they share and am sad that this will be his last year getting to see this teacher.  But I know that they will stay in touch to share their fishing and hunting stories!

Hunter asked me to make a thank you card for him to take to his teacher, along with his favorite Dairy Queen treat.  Today's sketch was perfect for his request!
Using my Stampin' Blends, I did my best to create a Salmon...my son said I nailed it.  I'll take that as a mom WIN!

Supplies Used:
Paper ~ Soft Sea Foam, Cajun Craze, Whisper White
Ink ~ VersaMark, Memento, Stampin' Blends:  Pool Party, Soft Sea Foam, Petal Pink, Cajun Craze, Smoky Slate
Stamp Sets ~ Best Catch, Free As A Bird, Crackle Paint
Other Supplies ~ Catch of the Day Dies, Silver Metallic Thread, Frosted & Clear Epoxy Droplets, Subtle Embossing Folder

I'm not sure what I'm going to do without my Silver Metallic Thread either...I use this on EVERYTHING!  But I know that there are several new things coming our way that will help me find the "silver" lining!

Have a terrific Tuesday!

Happy Stamping!

Mountain Air Anniversary

Happy Good Friday stampers!  I hope you have had a fabulous week!  It was our spring break this week, which was full of sunshine and fun at home.  As we wrap up the week, my hubby and I are celebrating our 16th anniversary.  I am not sure where 16 years have gone because it seems like our wedding was just a couple of years ago.  I guess that's what happens when you are having fun!
As soon as I saw the Mountain Air bundle in the Occasions Catalog, I knew it was a must have!  We are a family who loves the outdoors...take us to the beach or the mountains and we are happy campers!
I used some pretty colors to try to match our Blue Mountains...I think these are pretty close.  The only thing missing is the little bit of snow left up at the top, but that will soon be gone with all of the warm weather we have been having.
The layout for this card came from a fun sketch that my dear friend Cynthia sent me as part of a little "quarantine crafting challenge".  I love the stripes!

Supplies Used:
Paper ~ Crumb Cake, Balmy Blue, Mossy Meadow, Old Olive, Mossy Meadow, Whisper White
Ink ~ Highland Heather, Mango Melody, Night of Navy, Mossy Meadow
Stamp Sets ~ Mountain Air, Itty Bitty Greetings
Other Supplies ~ Pinewood Planks 3D Embossing Folder, Majestic Mountain Dies

We didn't have any big anniversary plans as we are usually in the midst of baseball this time of year.  We will likely spend the day working in the yard, which we both actually love!  And hopefully on Saturday we can find our way to the mountains for a little hiking...as long as we can find an area that isn't closed.

Have a fantastic Friday!

Happy Stamping!

Rustic Birthday

Hi stampers!  It's been a few days since I've posted, but that doesn't mean I haven't been creating!  I start almost every day with a little bit of stamping...it's my calm before the storm during the school year!
If you have been following my blog for a while, you will know that I always make my husband some sort of outdoor or wildlife card for his birthday each year.  This year is no different!  As soon as I saw Rustic Retreat in the Annual Catalog, I knew I would be using it for his card this year.  Join me in wishing my hubby a Happy Birthday!  (His last year in his 30's!)
I was inspired by a beautiful card made by the amazing Mary Deatherage of Stamps-n-Lingers.  I love her choice of colors and textures, which were perfect for a birthday card for my hubby.  And this just so happens to be one of this weeks Stampin' Through the Catalog stamp sets!  It was fun to play along with them finally.

I first stamped the buck on Whisper White, but it seemed far too bright, so I switched it out for Very Vanilla.  It still seemed a bit bright against the darker colors, but adding a few splatters of Granny Apple Green was just what it needed.  I also added a few splatters to the pine springs before fussy cutting to help soften them up.  This is such a fun technique, and one you will see more of later this week!
Supplies Used:
Paper ~ Early Espresso, Soft Suede, Granny Apple Green, Very Vanilla
Ink ~ Granny Apple Green, Soft Suede, Early Espresso, Memento, Stampin' Blends:  Soft Suede, Crumb Cake, Granny Apple Green, Pool Party
Stamp Set ~ Rustic Retreat
Other Supplies ~ Corrugated Dynamic Textures Embossing Folder, Braided Linen Trim

I'm stuck at work today, but the birthday boy and our boys are lucky enough to be spending the day at the river boating.  Lucky guys!

Have a great day!

#TGIFC214 - Create a Set

Hello stamping friends and welcome to an all new TGIF Challenges!  This week, our amazing team is creating sets of cards with some of our favorite stamp sets.

It has been another busy week in my house, so keeping things simple was my focus for the cards I'm sharing today.  The 2019-2020 Annual Catalog is just days away from going live and one of my favorite stamp sets is A Good Man. The images and sentiments in this stamp set make my heart happy.
I love that these images can pretty much stand alone with just a little color...perfect for some quick and simple cards!
This image and sentiment seriously made my eyes leak...it's perfect for my hubby, dad of 3 boys!

And this guy...don't you just want to set up a chair next to him and spend the day relaxing too?  This would be great as a Father's Day card, Birthday card, Retirement card...so many occasions!

Annnnddddd....my eyes are leaking again!  Any Daddy's girls out there?  I am an only child and my relationship with my dad is pretty special.  This image totally hit ALL of the emotions!

Sometimes simple is better...

Supplies Used:
Paper ~ Whisper White, Basic Black
Ink ~ Memento, Stampin' Blends {in just about every color available!}
Stamp Set ~ A Good Man
Other Supplies ~ Rectangle Stitched Framelits, Stitched Shapes Framelits

Thanks for stopping by today!  Be sure to check out the rest of our amazing Design Team creations and join along in the fun!

Geared Up for OnStage

Hello from Salt Lake City!  I'm so excited to be here with some of my favorite Stampin' Up! friends!  We are scattered all over the US this time, so I'm missing some of my favorite people, but I'm sending my love across the miles.
We have a day full of creating, inspiring and sharing ahead of us, followed by a fantastic afterparty, hosted by the amazing Brynn Thornburgh.  She hosted an amazing afterparty event in Orlando and this one will NOT disappoint!
I was honored when she asked me to design a make and take for her event.  She asked me to use the Geared Up Garage suite and I couldn't have been happier!  This is such a great stamp set for any guy or gal in your life!  I love the grungy look this suite offers!
I love all of the fun models of cars and motorcycles in the Classic Garage DSP and just had to fussy cut them for samples. The Classic Garage Metal Elements were the perfect touch to finish off the card.
I can't decide if I like the cars or the motorcycles better...because they are all awesome!
Do you ever crumple your paper?  It's a technique I don't always think of, but it was a MUST for these samples.  It gives just the right amount of texture and grunge!

Supplies Used:
Paper ~ Basic Black, Tranquil Tide, Basic Gray, Crushed Curry, Classic Garage DSP
Ink ~ Basic Gray, Memento
Stamp Set ~ Geared Up Garage
Other Supplies ~ Layering Circles Framelits, Garage Gears Thinlits, Classic Garage Metal Elements

It was so funny to see my bag go through the security check...the little keys and wrenches looked so funny on the X-ray!  I'm sure TSA was wondering what in the world they were!

I hope to have lots of fun and exciting things to share with you after I get back home.  I've seen a few sneak peaks of the upcoming annual catalog and it looks AMAZING!  Stay tuned...

Happy Staming!

Enjoy the Simple Moments ~ #tgifc202 Sketch Challenge

Welcome to Friday and an all new TGIF Sketch Challenge #202!
I am trying to keep up on birthday cards for family members this year and needed a card for my father-in-law.  I had pulled out the Waterfront stamp set a couple weeks ago with the intent to make him a card, but had yet to get around to it.  Until this weeks sketch challenge came along!  As soon as I saw the sketch, the card all came together and will soon be in the mail!
Supplies Used:
Paper ~ Whisper White, Wood Textures DSP
Ink ~ Sahara Sand, Crumb Cake, Balmy Blue, Mossy Meadow, Pear Pizzazz, So Saffron, Early Espresso
Stamp Sets ~ Waterfront, Home To Roost
Other Supplies ~ Linen Thread

I forgot how much a piece of torn paper adds to a card!  It gave this just just enough texture to go along with the mountain scene.  And this sentiment...can I just say how much I love this?!?  I am doing my best to enjoy every single simple moment these days!

Thanks for stopping by today!  I hope you have a fabulous weekend!

Happy Stamping!

All Geared Up for #tgifc194 Sketch Challenge

Woohoo...it's Friday!  This has felt like the longest week ever!  Coming back after two weeks off and trying to get back in the swing of things has proven to be tough, but I made it!
We're kicking off the weekend with a great new TGIF Challenges sketch.  I can't wait to see all of the fabulous creations made with this!

My dad celebrated his 65th birthday last week and the all new Classic Garage suite would be perfect for his card.  My dad loves going to our annual car show with my boys and loves the old Chevy Bel Airs.  I was so excited to find this car in the amazing Classic Garage DSP.  Fussy cutting is my jam, so I cut out every single car from one of the sheets of DSP.  Watch for more fun creations to come!
Supplies Used:
Paper ~ Basic Black, Basic Gray, Real Red, Smoky Slate, Whisper White, Classic Garage DSP
Ink ~ Basic Gray, Real Red
Stamp Set ~ Geared Up Garage
Other Supplies ~ Garage Gears Thinlits, Classic Garage Metal Elements, Layering Circles Framelits, Basic Black Bakers Twine

I love the grungy background stamp in this set.  And the Thinlits in this set are so cool, especially the gears!  I always love a good masculine set and I'm really hoping this one sticks around!

I did give this card to my dad last weekend and he loved it!  He's a pretty classic guy!

Have a fantastic weekend!

Manly Moments

Hello stampin' friends!!!  It's almost the weekend...who's excited?!?  This momma is!  My twins were originally scheduled to play in an out of town tournament this weekend, but due to the holiday weekend and lack of teams, it was canceled.  This means we have a WHOLE weekend at home with no baseball games.  Don't get me wrong...I love this time of year and love watching my boys play.  But having an unexpected free weekend is kind of a treat, especially since it's along weekend.

Before I get to today's cards, I promised I would fill you all in on our first annual Special Education track meet we had earlier this week.  It was such a GREAT event!  The kiddos all had so much fun! Seeing all of their smiles as they participated in each event was the BEST part of the day.  We have a few bugs to work out for next year, but all in all, it couldn't have been more perfect for the kids!  I am so very blessed to be a part of such an amazing team!

Okay...on to today's cards!  This month's Paper Pumpkin kit arrived last week and I finally had some time to sit down and create last night.  Masculine cards are always a little bit more difficult for me to come up with, but Stampin' Up nailed it with this kit!  The stamp set has so many great sentiments to create a manly card for any man in your life!

I followed the kit directions for the first two cards.  How great are these?!?!  They went together in no time at all!  The mountain and water pieces are stickers...so easy to attach!

I stepped things up a bit for the next cards.  I altered the layout of some of them and used my Layering Circles Framelits to add a little extra dimension to a couple others.  There are so many possibilities with this kit!  I love it!

I made sure to order a refill for this kit because I know I will have many more masculine cards to create this year and this kit will be my go to!

If you don't already subscribe to Paper Pumpkin, make sure you do before June 10th!  June's kit will coordinate with amazing new Stampin' Up! products in the 2018-2019 Annual Catalog...you won't want to miss it or any other kits to come come!

I hope you have a fantastic day!

Happy Stamping!

Simply Tailored

Happy Friday stampin' friends!!!  Do you have any big plans for the weekend?  I hope some stamping is involved at some point for you!  We have a day full of soccer and basketball tomorrow, but Sunday should be a good day of stamping for me...yippee!

I needed to add a few masculine cards to my collection and the True Gentleman Suite helped get the job done!  I kept these cards pretty simple, which is VERY hard for me.  I always want to add more layers or more embellishments...more, more, more.  It's so hard for me to stop!  I managed to stop with these ones and I'm kind of happy with how they turned out.

Supplies Used:
Paper ~ True Gentleman DSP, Crumb Cake, Night of Navy, Tranquil Tide
Ink ~ Night of Navy, Tranquil Tide

Other Supplies ~ Tailored Tag Punch, Banner Triple Punch

I love the colors and patterns in this DSP...they are perfect for any guy card!

Thanks for stopping by today!  I hope you have a fabulous Friday and an amazing weekend as well!
