Wildlife Wonder Birthday Wishes

Happy Wednesday and Happy Birthday to my dad!

Today's card features the new Wildlife Wonder stamp set, combined with Mountain Air.  I'm always so excited when new masculine stamp sets hit the catalog!  Wildlife Wonder will certainly get a lot of use with all of the outdoor men in my life!

I created a blended background using the Blending Brushes and shades of Misty Moonlight, Pale Papaya, Old Olive and Crumb Cake.  This created the perfect setting for some snow-capped Mountain Air mountains.
The big ol' bear was stamped in Early Espresso and fussy cut...my favorite thing to do!  A single Evening Evergreen tree added just a bit more to the mountain scene.  I stamped and heat embossed a couple of the sentiments from Wildlife Wonder, along with the "DAD" sentiment from Hats Off.  These were fussy cut and pieced together for the perfect birthday sentiment for my Dad!

I can't wait to create even more projects with this beautiful stamp set...I just need to find the time!  I started a new job this week, which is a few more hours a week...which means a few less hours of stamp time.  I'll be taking advantage of my weekends a lot more now!

Thanks for stopping by today!

Happy Stamping!

Die-namic Duos ~ Control Freaks May 2021

Welcome to the May edition of the Control Freaks Blog Hop!  This month we are featuring projects created with TWO die sets.  You may have made you way here from the amazing Cindy Elam, or you might just be starting. Either way, be sure to make your way through the entire hop...there are so many Die-namic ideas!
I tend to collect a new hat every time we take a trip, so of course I had to have the Hats Off bundle in the new 2021-2022 Annual Catalog.  This bundle is perfect for just about anyone and for any occasion.  What makes this bundle even better?!?!  Pairing it up with the Mountain Air stamp set and coordinating Majestic Mountain Dies!
I created the mountain scene in the background by stamping the mountains in Misty Moonlight, adding a little Gray Granite and some Evening Evergreen pine trees.  I tucked the Pale Papaya sun (or is it the moon?) behind the mountains and added a couple die-cut trees in shades of Even Evergreen and Soft Succulent.  Then came my favorite part of the card!  The awesome Misty Moonlight die-cut hat with an Evening Evergreen mountain scene. I LOVE THIS HAT!  You will certainly be seeing a lot more of this hat and all of the fun designs that you can add to it. Here's to the next adventure...the perfect sentiment to finish this card off!

Next up is a fun birthday card for that all-business-kind-of-guy in your life.  I didn't think I needed the Well Suited Suite, but once again, after seeing everyone's amazing creations...I HAD to have it!  I love all of the fun patterns in the Well Suited DSP.
I die-cut two ties, then added a couple few more patterns of DSP...because we need to mix ALL of the patterns with this paper!  A little bit of texture was added with the new Checks & Dots embossing folder.  These were all layered on a Night of Navy card base and finished off with a simple "A Happy Birthday to You" sentiment, which was die-cut with my forever-go-to Tasteful Labels dies.  Some cute little die-cut buttons were added for good measure!

Next up is the super creative Melissa DaviesYou are going to love what she has created today!

Thanks for hopping along with us!

Adventure Awaits ~ #TGIFC290 Sketch Challenge

Adventure awaits...seems kind of fitting for 2020.  I don't know about you, but I am anxiously awaiting the day when we can get back to our big adventures.  Until then...I'll happily create a fun little adventure with this weeks TGIF Challenges Sketch Challenge.
Mountain Air is one of my favorite stamp sets, especially combined with the coordinating Majestic Mountains Dies.  This scene looks like a place I'd like to take an adventure to!
I watercolored the oval with Misty Moonlight and Garden Green, then layered the mountains and trees on top.  I let just a little shadow of Gray Granite mountain peek out behind the oval.
A couple of pine trees were the perfect finishing touch for this adventurous card.  I was happy to give this card to one of our school district's Physical Therapists before he took off on an adventure of his own with a new position.  He will be missed!

Supplies Used:
Paper ~ Gray Granite, Whisper White, Misty Moonlight, Garden Green
Ink ~ Gray Granite, Misty Moonlight, Garden Green, VersaMark
Stamp Sets ~ Mountain Air, Beautiful World
Other Supplies ~ Majestic Mountains Dies, Layering Ovals Dies, Subtle Embossing Folder, White Embossing Powder

I hope you have a wonderful weekend!

Mountain View Anniversary

Happy Memorial Day!  Today we honor and celebrate the lives of those who served our country...thank you!

Today also happens to be my parents 45th wedding anniversary!  They have set such an amazing example of what true love really is.

Our little valley is so beautifully lush and green right now.  As I was driving my son to go fishing with his friend the other day, I was so inspired by all of the beauty of this town we call home.  I just had to come home and recreate it in a card.  It turned out to be the perfect anniversary card for my parents.

I started out by watercoloring the background with Pool Party and Granny Apple Green, letting them bleed in to each other a little.  After letting it dry, I stamped the mountains and trees from Mountain Air in shades of Balmy Blue, Old Olive and Shaded Spruce.  I added a few wild flowers from Healing Hugs and a little pond and deer from Snow Front.  I love it when you can use several different stamp sets!

Supplies Used:
Paper ~ Whisper White, Basic Black, Watercolor
Ink ~ Pool Party, Granny Apple Green, Old Olive, Balmy Blue, Shaded Spruce, Memento, VersaMark
Stamp Sets ~ Mountain Air, Snow Front, Healing Hugs, Itty Bitty Greetings
Other Supplies ~ White Embossing Powder

I'm pretty sure I share this picture of my parents every year, but they were just so darn cute!   They have been dating since they were in 7th grade!

Quarantine Crafting

I hold a stamping class every month, which has been cancelled due to our Stay  Home orders.  I am missing all of my stamping friends and I know they are missing out on classes as well.  So, I decided to come up with a fun Facebook group to keep us all stamping!  I've called it Quarantine Crafting and am posting weekly challenges for everyone to play along with.  It has been a fun way to stay connected and to make sure my sure my customers keep stamping!
This weeks challenge was a sketch.  There may be flowers in the sketch, but I encouraged my stampers to use ANY shape!

I like to play along as well!  I used the same sketch for two different cards.  Enjoy!

I LOVE the Mountain Air bundle and I am REALLY hoping it carries over!  This set is great, especially for anyone who loves the outdoors.  I cased this card from the Mini Catalog.  I loved this color combination!
Supplies Used:
Paper ~ Whisper White, Basic Gray, Gray Granite, Grapefruit Grove
Ink ~ Mint Macaron, Gray Granite, Basic Gray, Grapefruit Grove, VersaMark
Stamp Set ~ Mountain Air, Itty Bitty Greetings
Other Supplies ~ Majestic Mountain Dies, White Embossing Powder

My second card was made using some scraps I had on my desk.  I went a little fussy-cut-crazy with the Timeless Tropical Memories & More Card pack a couple weeks ago and still had a few pieces left over.  This pretty flower was perfect for the sketch!

Supplies Used:a
Paper ~ Soft Sea Foam, Tropical Oasis DSP, Timeless Tropical Memories & More Card Pack
Ink ~ Shaded Spruce
Stamp Set ~ Piece of Cake
Other Supplies ~ Coastal Weave 3D Embossing Folder, Rose Metallic Thread, Champagne Rhinestone Jewels

I've said it several times before, but I am so very thankful for my stamping community and all that we can do together, even when we are apart!  Keep on creating friends!

Happy Stamping!

Mountain Air Anniversary

Happy Good Friday stampers!  I hope you have had a fabulous week!  It was our spring break this week, which was full of sunshine and fun at home.  As we wrap up the week, my hubby and I are celebrating our 16th anniversary.  I am not sure where 16 years have gone because it seems like our wedding was just a couple of years ago.  I guess that's what happens when you are having fun!
As soon as I saw the Mountain Air bundle in the Occasions Catalog, I knew it was a must have!  We are a family who loves the outdoors...take us to the beach or the mountains and we are happy campers!
I used some pretty colors to try to match our Blue Mountains...I think these are pretty close.  The only thing missing is the little bit of snow left up at the top, but that will soon be gone with all of the warm weather we have been having.
The layout for this card came from a fun sketch that my dear friend Cynthia sent me as part of a little "quarantine crafting challenge".  I love the stripes!

Supplies Used:
Paper ~ Crumb Cake, Balmy Blue, Mossy Meadow, Old Olive, Mossy Meadow, Whisper White
Ink ~ Highland Heather, Mango Melody, Night of Navy, Mossy Meadow
Stamp Sets ~ Mountain Air, Itty Bitty Greetings
Other Supplies ~ Pinewood Planks 3D Embossing Folder, Majestic Mountain Dies

We didn't have any big anniversary plans as we are usually in the midst of baseball this time of year.  We will likely spend the day working in the yard, which we both actually love!  And hopefully on Saturday we can find our way to the mountains for a little hiking...as long as we can find an area that isn't closed.

Have a fantastic Friday!

Happy Stamping!
