Happy Birthday with a Cherry on Top

Happy Friday stampers...TGIF!!!

I'm kicking off what I hope to be a weekend full of stamping with a happy card for this weeks Friday Mashup Challenge.  The challenge this week is to create a birthday card using stencils.  I'm also playing along with my girls over at SSINK where anything goes.
I'm kind of lacking in the stencil department, but I do have the fun Dots & Stripes stencils.  The polka dots gave this card a fun little splash of color behind the balloons.

Supplies Used:
Paper ~ Whisper White
Ink ~ Pool Party, Cucumber Crush, Watermelon Wonder, Crushed Curry, Basic Black, Stampin' Chalk Marker
Stamp Set ~ Party Pants
Other Supplies ~ Circle Framelits, Balloon Bouquet Punch, Cherry on Top Washi Tape, Whisper White Bakers Twine

Don't these bright balloons just make you happy??!?

I hope your weekend is very happy and you get some stamping time in too!

Treats for my Loves

Hello happy stampers!  We made it through another week...I'm doing a little happy dance :-)  I love me a Friday!!!
I've been doing a little countdown to Valentine's Day for my boys, leaving them a little treat each morning.  It's been fun coming up with different ideas and treats to surprise them with each day.

Today's Valentine/candy theme over at Friday Mashup Challenge along with the 3-D challenge over at Stylin' Stampin' INKspiration inspired these cute little Ghiradelli Chocolate wraps.
I'm the queen of procrastination and am usually scrambling early in the morning to put their treats together, so I was super happy that these went together so quickly!

Supplies Used:
Paper ~ It's My Party DSP, Red Foil, Silver Glimmer, Whisper White
Ink ~ Real Red
Stamp Set ~ Hello Life
Other Supplies ~ Triple Banner Punch, Bow Builder Punch, Itty Bitty Accents Punch Pack, Basic Black Bakers Twine

Super easy and cute...my kind of special treat!

I hope you all have a fabulous weekend and get some stamp time!  I'll be stamping my way through the weekend and cheering on the Denver Bronco's on Sunday....Go Broncos!

Forever Begins Today

Happy Friday Stampers!

Friday means it's time for an all new Friday Mashup Challenge.  This week we have a fun sketch to play around with.  And if you are feeling extra creative, you can mash this sketch up with a musical theme.

I have absolutely nothing in my collection that relates to a music theme at all, so I just had to go with the sketch.
Supplies Used:
Paper ~ Whisper White, Mint Macaron, Birthday Bouquet DSP
Ink ~ Mint Macaron
Stamp Set ~ Suite Sayings
Other Supplies ~ Triple Banner Punch, Gold Metallic Thread

Super Hero Storybook

Happy New Year stampers!

I hope you had a fun time ringing in the New Year!  I actually made it until midnight this year...first time in MANY years!  My family joined some of our fire family and went to a hockey game...we all had so much fun!

We are kicking the New Year off with a FUN challenge over at Friday Mashup.  We are mashing things up with a Super Hero Storybook creation!

I'll admit, I was a little afraid of this challenge at first, but after a little thought, I was able to come up with a fun super hero birthday card, which my 4 year old has already claimed as his for his next birthday!
I've included a little photo tutorial below for how I designed the layout for this card, so be sure to scroll through to the end!
Supplies Used:
Paper ~ Whisper White, Real Red, Pacific Point
Ink ~ Basic Black, Crushed Curry, Real Red, Pacific Point
Stamp Sets ~ Calling All Heroes, B.Y.O.p
Other Supplies ~ Circle Punches, Itty Bitty Punch Pack (star), Word Bubble Framelits (retired), Square Framelits

Creating the storybook layout was a piece of cake using the Square Framelits and Magnetic Platform...take a look!

I lined the 1-1/2" square framelit up on the upper left corner of the card front and ran it through the Big Shot using the Magnetic Platform.  I repeated this step in the upper right corner, then moved the square framelit over to make a rectangle shape.
These steps were repeated at the bottom of the card front as well, cutting the square and rectangle shapes on opposing sides.

Next, I cut the center rectangle using the same 1-1/2" Square Framelit.
Once I had my storybook template cut, I placed it over the front of the card base and used a pencil to draw a few lines for guides for my stamping.

This card was a ton of fun to make!  I encourage you to join in the fun too!

Happy Stamping!

Celebrate 2016

Happy, Happy Friday stampers!!!  This has been one long week for me and I am STOKED that the weekend is finally here!  We have a busy weekend ahead of us, but it will be a FUN one!
We are getting a head start on our New Years celebrating over at The Friday Mashup today.  I am the host this week with a festive New Years Theme with a mashup using Black, Silver and Gold colors.

You might be wondering where these fabulous numbers are coming from, right?!?!?  You will be able to get your hands on the VERY soon as they are in the upcoming Occasions Catalog.  The Number of Years stamp set and coordinating Framelits are awesome and were perfect for today's card!
With the help of the Magnetic Platform, I was able to line my numbers up just how I wanted them.  I used the negative images and popped them up on some Silver Glimmer paper...love it!
Supplies Used:
Paper ~ Whisper White, Basic Black, Silver Glimmer, Gold Glimmer
Ink ~ VersaMark
Stamp Set ~ Celebrate Today
Other Supplies ~ Large Number Framelits, Medium Star Punch, Itty Bitty Punch Pack (Star), Metallic Sequins, Rhinestone Basic Jewels

So...a sad story about the Celebrate sentiment...I had to walk away from my craft table while I was working on this card and in the time that I was away, my pesky cat got into things and carted the Celebrate stamp off, which my puppy ended up finding later and chewed one end off :(  I'm so bummed!!!  Guess that teaches me a lesson to clean up as I go and not leave anything out...or beg my hubby to put a door on my office!

That's all for now!  Hope to be back later this weekend with a few more new things to share.  Until then...

Happy Stamping!

Cookies for Santa

'Tis the season to bake cookies...and lots of them for Santa!
The Friday Mashup team is getting inspired by all the Christmas baking we are all doing (or getting ready to do) and we are mashing things up by using our dies!

My boys came across some super cute Mickey and Minnie Christmas cookies a few weeks ago and have been begging to make some!  I finally got some Mickey cookie cutters ordered so we can make some extra special cookies for Santa.
While we wait for those cookie cutters to get here, we have Santa's card all ready to leave on Christmas Eve with his cookies!
Supplies Used:
Paper ~ Real Red, Mossy Meadow, Whisper White, Basic Black, Silver Foil, Silver Glimmer, Merry Moments DSP
Stamps ~ Project Life Seasonal Snapshot 2015
Ink ~ Smoky Slate
Other Supplies ~ Circle Framelits, Home for Christmas Enamel Dots, Itty Bitty Punch Pack (Heart), 1/8" Striped Real Red Ribbon, 1/8" Silver Ribbon

These cute little Mickey and Minnie ears certainly make me want to get in the kitchen and start baking!   Will you be doing any holiday baking this weekend?

Have a great weekend!

Into the Woods Thanks

Hello happy stampers!  It's Friday, and we all know what that means...time for an all new Friday Mashup Challenge.  This week we have a fun sketch from Heidi and we are mashing things up with Thankful themed creations.
My aunt was kind enough to let me stay with her last weekend while I attended OnStage Vancouver, so I wanted to send her a thank you card for her hospitality.  I don't get to see my auntie often enough, so any time I get to spend with her is greatly cherished!
Supplies Used:
Paper ~ Soft Suede, Gold Glimmer, Blackberry Bliss, Tangelo Twist, Into the Woods DSP
Ink ~ None
Stamps ~ None
Other Supplies ~ Circle Framelits, Metallic Gold Thread, Into the Woods Elements, Into the Woods Cotton Ribbon, Greetings Thinlits

I love that we have such beautiful DSP that you can use for the main focal point of your card...sometimes no stamps are required!

You will have to forgive the wonky lighting in my picture...I'm having a few issues with my editing...technology is NOT my strong suit!

Be sure to head on over to see the rest of the design team creations and play along with us!  We love to see what you create!

Have a happy Friday and an amazing weekend!

Happy Stamping!

You're So Vintage

Happy Friday friends!
We're getting our coloring blocking groove on over at Friday Mashup this week.  Our challenge is to create a decades themed or color blocking project or to mash it up and create a color blocking decades theme project.  This was a really fun challenge to play along with!

While I was a child of the 80's I grew with parents of the 60's, so they were kind of the inspiration behind this card.  A little bit of tie-die background with some embossed blocks of color made for a fun card.
Supplies Used:
Paper ~ Basic Black, Pacific Point, Melon Mambo, Crushed Curry
Ink ~ VersaMark, Melon Mambo, Crushed Curry, Pacific Point
Stamp Set ~ That Thing You Did
Other Supplies ~ Basic Black Bakers Twine, Circle Framelits, Honeycomb and Large Polka Dot Embossing Folder, Candy Dots

Truly Thankful

It's Friday and for that I am truly thankful!  It has been another crazy week, but I think I am finally seeing the light at the end of the tunnel.  No matter how crazy the weeks may be, I always look forward to Friday because that always means it's time for and all new Friday Mashup!
This week we have a sketch with a mashup challenge of adding leaves to your project.  I always love an open sketch like this...so many possibilities!
After making all of the cute Wickedly Sweet Treats from September's Paper Pumpkin kit, I kept the stamp set out on my desk because I knew I wanted to use it again.  The little leaves and acorns were perfect for this challenge!
Supplies Used:
Paper ~ Soft Suede, Very Vanilla, Gold Glimmer Paper
Ink ~ Soft Suede, Delightful Dijon, Tip Top Taupe, Tangelo Twist, Blackberry Bliss
Stamp Set ~ Wickedly Sweet Treats September Paper Pumpkin
Other Supplies ~ Square Pillow Box Thinlits, Linen Thread, Score Board

It's been a while since I've used my score board to add a little extra detail to a card, but I am reminded that I need to use it more.  I love how just a couple score lines can add so much to a project!

Be sure to head on over to see the rest of the fabulous mashup creations from our design team!

Have a great weekend!

We Interrupt This Marriage...

...for hunting season!  Yep...it's that that of year again.  The time of year that my hubby gets a serious case of buck fever and I become a hunting widow.  The good news is that with my hubby and boys gone most weekends I get some time to myself which means more stamp time!
This week at The Friday Mashup we are playing around with silhouettes and backgrounds.
When I started to make the background I had a little something different in mind, but the more I played around with creating the background, the more it looked like camo, which sparked a whole new idea...a hunting card for my hubby!
Supplies Used:
Paper ~ Basic Black, Whisper White, Watercolor Paper, Winter Wonderland Specialty DSP
Ink ~ Tip Top Taupe, Mossy Meadow, Old Olive, Soft Suede, VersaMark
Stamp Set ~ Wonderland
Other Supplies ~ Circle Framelits, Snowflake Elements, Black Embossing Powder, Basic Black Bakers Twine, Aqua Painter

To create my background, I first spritzed my Watercolor Paper with water then used my Aqua Painter to apply the Tip Top Taupe.  I used my Stamping  Write Markers to color the pinecone image the spritzed it with water and stamped it on the still damp Watercolor Paper.  This made for a fun background for the antlers!
I'll tuck this card in my hubby's pack as he heads out for his first morning of hunting...a fun little traction I started way back when we first started dating.

Now it's your turn to create a background for your silhouette image!

Happy Friday and Happy Stamping!!

Stamp Set ~ Howl-o-ween Treat
Other Supplies ~ Boo to You Framelits, Square Framelits, Happy Haunting Washi Tape, Silver Thread, Rhinestone Basic Jewels
