Bee Mine

Welcome to the SSINK February Blog Hop!  We are so excited to share some LOVE with you today!  Valentine's Day is just a few days away and we have some great projects to INKspire you for any last minute Valentine's you may need to create.

As you hop along, please be sure to comment and show some love on every blog! We are always excited to hear from our followers! You should have just left stop number 2 on the Stylin' Stampin' INKspiration Blog Hop - Diana of Stampin' Fun With Diana). If so, you are in the right spot. If a link doesn't work or you get off track, you will find the full blog hop lineup below.

I found these adorable little bee chocolates at our local candy store and just had to use them for Valentine's for my youngest.  I don't have many years left of the "cute" Valentine's so I have to take advantage of these while I can!
I CASE'd the design of the card from the annual catalog.  It's a pretty simple design, but a bit time consuming cutting out all of those little hives with the Hexagon Hive Thinlits...thank goodness for the Precision Base Plate!
Supplies Used:
Paper ~ Whisper White, So Saffron, It's My Party DSP, Real Red
Ink ~ Basic Black, Crushed Curry
Stamp Sets ~ Honeycomb Hello, Calling All Heros
Other Supplies ~ Hexagon Hive Thinlits, Lots of Labels Framelits, Itty Bitty Accents Punch Pack

My little guy was a big help in making these.  He helped me crank all of the paper through the Big Shot, punched out all of the hearts and glued on all of the chocolate bees.  He also worked so hard on signing his name on all 25 of his Valentine's!  He still struggles with W's and M's so this was really good practice for him and he was so proud that he did it all by himself!

Super Hero Storybook

Happy New Year stampers!

I hope you had a fun time ringing in the New Year!  I actually made it until midnight this year...first time in MANY years!  My family joined some of our fire family and went to a hockey game...we all had so much fun!

We are kicking the New Year off with a FUN challenge over at Friday Mashup.  We are mashing things up with a Super Hero Storybook creation!

I'll admit, I was a little afraid of this challenge at first, but after a little thought, I was able to come up with a fun super hero birthday card, which my 4 year old has already claimed as his for his next birthday!
I've included a little photo tutorial below for how I designed the layout for this card, so be sure to scroll through to the end!
Supplies Used:
Paper ~ Whisper White, Real Red, Pacific Point
Ink ~ Basic Black, Crushed Curry, Real Red, Pacific Point
Stamp Sets ~ Calling All Heroes, B.Y.O.p
Other Supplies ~ Circle Punches, Itty Bitty Punch Pack (star), Word Bubble Framelits (retired), Square Framelits

Creating the storybook layout was a piece of cake using the Square Framelits and Magnetic Platform...take a look!

I lined the 1-1/2" square framelit up on the upper left corner of the card front and ran it through the Big Shot using the Magnetic Platform.  I repeated this step in the upper right corner, then moved the square framelit over to make a rectangle shape.
These steps were repeated at the bottom of the card front as well, cutting the square and rectangle shapes on opposing sides.

Next, I cut the center rectangle using the same 1-1/2" Square Framelit.
Once I had my storybook template cut, I placed it over the front of the card base and used a pencil to draw a few lines for guides for my stamping.

This card was a ton of fun to make!  I encourage you to join in the fun too!

Happy Stamping!

A Super Hero 4th Birthday

Happy, Happy 4th Birthday to my sweet baby boy!!!  I can't believe he is already 4...it seems like he was just born. Watching your children grow is a bitter sweet reminder of just how precious life is and not to miss out on one single moment because it all goes by way too fast.
Owen is all about super hero's these days, so I just HAD to make him a Captain America - his favorite - birthday card!
Supplies Used:
Paper ~ Pacific Point, Real Red, Whisper White, Smoky Slate, Silver Glimmer
Ink ~ Archival Basic Black, Crushed Curry, Pacific Point, Smoky Slate
Stamp Sets ~ Calling All Heroes, Tin of Cards
Other Supplies ~ Circle Framelits

I hope Calling All Heroes sticks around for a long time...this is such a fun set and perfect for all the super hero fans out there!

Time to get my super hero out of bed and ready for his birthday breakfast with Grandma :-)  And we'll end the day with a birthday celebration at the football field...he'll go to bed a happy 4 year old tonight!

Happy Stamping!
