Farewell Friday ~ Lovely As a Tree

Happy Friday stampers!  I hope you have all had a fantastic week!
I was finally able to find some time to pull out my retiring stamp sets...I had to take a few moments to mourn some of my favorites that are leaving!  I'm doing my best to use them all one last time before I say good-bye...which leads me to a new string of posts that I will have on Friday's, featuring retiring stamp sets that I love.
I was absolutely shocked when I saw that Lovely As a Tree was retiring.  I honestly thought we would have this stamp set FOREVER!  It is certainly one I have used time and time again.  I had to create at least one more care with this beautiful set before we see it go!
This week's Freshly Made Sketches sketch was perfect for this card.  I love that I can always turn to their awesome sketches for creative inspiration!
I wanted to go for a more masculine look for this card and decided the Tree Rings background stamp would be a nice added layer.  Roughing up the edges gave it just a bit more rugged feel too.

Supplies Used:
Paper ~ Mossy Meadow, Soft Suede, Crumb Cake, Whisper White, Wood Textures DSP
Ink ~ Versa Mark, Memento, Stampin' Blends:  Soft Suede, Mossy Meadow, Daffodil Delight
Stamp Sets ~ Lovely As a Tree, Happy Birthday Gorgeous
Other Supplies ~ Stitched Shapes Framelits, Whisper White Embossing Powder

I'm really going to miss the Wood Textures DSP too!  I can't count how many pieces of this I have gone though the past couple years.  It has been one of my favorites!

Hope you all have a fantastic weekend!

Happy Stamping!

Christmas Inspiration ~ HSS#363

Hello stamping friends and Happy Tuesday!
It's time for an all new Hand Stamped Sentiments Challenge and this week we have a beautiful inspiration challenge!  I can't wait to see what this inspires everyone to create!
I love the watercolor effect in many of the pictures, which is what inspired my card.  I use my Aqua Painter to get a section of the watercolor paper wet then added a few drops of ink and let the color flow where it wanted.  I kept doing this until I had the effect I wanted for the background.  Once dry, I inked up the pine tree and spritzed it with water before I stamped it on the paper to give it a very soft watercolor feel as well.

Supplies Used:
Paper ~ Whisper White, Night of Navy, Watercolor, Red Glimmer
Ink ~ Night of Navy, Tempting Turquoise, Real Red
Stamp Sets ~ Lovely as a Tree, Christmas Pines
Other Supplies ~ Owl Punch Builder
Hope on over to see what the rest of the design team has created today.  Be sure to play along!  We love to see what you create!
Happy Stamping!

A Hunting We Will Go

It's Friday and fall is in the air...and in my house, fall means hunting season! For the next 4 months, this will be all I hear about between my husband and boys.  But boys away on hunting trips means more time for Momma to stamp!  So, I'm kicking off this hunting season with the latest Friday Mashup Challenge...A Hunting/Fishing theme creation using Early Espresso, Marina Mist and Wild Wasabi!

I kept things pretty simple, other than the little bit of Chevron Ribbon with the adorable Reindeer Clip...I love those things!
Supplies Used:
Paper ~ Very Vanilla, Early Espresso, Marina Mist, Wild Wasabi
Ink ~ Early Espresso
Stamp Set ~ Lovely as a Tree, Tin of Cards
Other Supplies ~ Reindeer Clips, Woodland Textured Impressions Embossing Folder, Linen Thread, Chevron Ribbon

Happy Hunting to everyone who is venturing out into the great outdoors this weekend and Happy Friday to all!

Happy Stamping!

Thoughtful Trees

Happy Tuesday Stampin' friends!  It's time for an all new Hand Stamped Sentiments challenge and this week we have an inspiration challenge for you.
At first I struggled with what to do with these pretty pictures, then my mind went to all of the firefighters fighting the wild land fires all over our state. The entire state of Washington remains blanketed in smoke as the fires continue to blaze...the firefighters are always in my thoughts and I pray for their safety daily.  This card is dedicated to the thousands of firefighters putting their lives on the line daily and for their families waiting for them at home.  Thank you!
Supplies Used:
Paper ~ Soft Sky, Season of Cheer DSP, Vellum
Ink ~ Basic Black
Stamp Sets ~ Lovely as a Tree, A Dozen Thoughts
Other Supplies ~ Tea Lace Doilies, Silver Cording Trim

I cased this card from the upcoming Holiday Catalog...I love the simplicity of the card.

Time to head on over to see the rest of the design team creations!  Be sure to join in the fun and play along with this challenge.  We love to see what you are inspired to create!

Happy Stamping!

The Leaves are a Fallin'

Happy {windy} Saturday!  I had high hopes of getting outside and raking the mass amount of leaves that we have in our back yard, but Mother Nature had a different idea.  It poured rain all morning and now the wind is blowing like crazy. Pointless to rake in the wind, right?  Oh well...stamping it is :-)  No complaints here!  All of the falling leaves have inspired me though...
Supplies Used:
Paper ~ Whisper White, Early Espresso, Cajun Craze, Summer Starfruit, Sweater Weather DSP
Ink ~ Early Espresso, Summer Starfruit, Cajun Craze, Gold Metallic Encore
Stamp Sets ~ Lovely As a Tree, Remembering Your Birthday, Gorgeous Grunge
Other Supplies ~ Woodgrain Embossing Folder, Circle Framelits, 2-1/2" Circle Punch

I love this sketch from Try Stampin' On Tuesday!  It will be one I use again for sure!

Hope you are having a great weekend so far!
