We made it to Friday...oh yeah, it's the weekend!!!  Let's kick of the weekend with a little crafting fun, okay?  Join in this weeks April Shower's Challenge over at The Friday Mashup where we are mashing things up with a creation focusing on April showers and umbrellas along with some polka dots.  Fun challenge, right?!?


I didn't have anything with an umbrella, but these cute rain boots sure do represent April Showers!  And I added in just a few polka dots peaking out on my little starburst circle.

So Long Cowboy

Hi friends and Happy Friday!!!  I've been waiting all week for this day!!!  I just need to make it through today and then I get to enjoy 9 wonderful days off...just what this momma needs!

A friend and fellow co-worker lost her husband unexpectedly this week...so heartbreaking :-(  I never like making sympathy cards, but my hope is that they will bring a little smile to the face of the recipient.

Howdy Cowboy

Howdy Cowboy!  Our annual fair kicks off today and our town is filled with cowboys and cowgirls alike.  We are kind of mean parents and usually avoid the fair, which I know we won't be able to get away with for much longer, but we do always make it to the parade on Saturday.  But this year, we will be missing it all!!!  My hubby and boys are heading out for a few days at the lake with my mother-in-law and I am heading to....DISNEYLAND!!!  I've got a ton to get done today, in addition to a full day of work, so I can't go in to all the fun details, but be sure to check back, okay?!?!?

Dustin' Off My Boots...

I dusted off my boots today, my Bootiful Occasions boots, to wish my friend Jennifer a Happy BOOTday!  It's been awhile since I've used this stamp set and I forgot how much I love this cowboy boot!

Cowboy Boots and Lace

I'm no cowgirl, but I do love me a cute pair of cowboy boots!  Add a cute dress, little bit of lace and you've got yourself a cute outfit...and even a cuter card!  Check out one of my creations from this weekend...

I embossed the vintage brad with the pool arty embossing powder...LOVE this look!  I had fun making this card and can't wait to give it to one of my co-workers this week for her birthday.

When the rain is done...

...out comes the sun! 

This was the story of my day!  The skies opened up this morning just as I got home from my run and poured for a good hour.  After a few more hours of clouds, the sun finally popped out!  Warm weather is on it's way, just in time for Easter weekend :)

Today's weather inspired me to pull out my Bootiful Occasions stamp set and have some fun!  With some sketch help from the great ladies over at Hand Stamped Sentiments and a fun framelits idea from Mindy Backes, I created this:

I used the cute little sunshine from the "You" in the Sunshine stamp...love it!  And I love this DSP...coordinates so well with this cute boot stamp.

Off to watch my kiddos race their grand prix cars.  They worked on them all weekend and are so proud of their work.  I'm pretty darn proud of them too :)

Bootiful Christmas

Do you ever start working on a card and come up with an idea for a totally different card?  This happens to me all the time, which is why I often have such a mess of a craft desk.  I always seem to have 2 or 3 projects in the works...but at least I finish them and clean my desk off before the day is done.  (Only to mess it up again the next day!)

I was working on a birthday card for my dear friend DeeDee, when the idea struck me to make a Christmas card using the cowboy boot from Bootiful Occasions. Yee Haw!!  Maybe I was still in non-traditional holiday stamp mode from the latest challenge over at The Friday Mashup. :)

I kept this very simple, adding just a bit of sparkle along the stitching on the boot and the brads to give a little extra western touch.
