Free Bird Friday

Happy Friday stamping' friends!  Are you feeling free as a bird today?!?  This is the last holiday weekend of summer and I am ready to enjoy every minute of it...right after my staff meeting this morning!

I am still having so much fun with the Bird Ballad Suite!  I love ALL of the DSP and all of the birds are just so dang cute!  The feathers DSP pattern is my absolute favorite pattern of the pack...I need at least 100 sheets!

My stamping is pretty minimal...just the little bird, a few leaves and a simple little HELLO sentiment.  The Pinewood Planks 3D embossing folder felt like the perfect background for the sweet little bird, while the fussy cut feather, tiny key trinket and linen bow were the perfect finishing touches.  

Of course I used my Stampin' Blends...I just can't stop! Daffodil Delight and Crumb Cake blends were just the right colors for this little guy.

It is officially spring and our weather is finally starting to cooperate!  After WEEKS of snow and freezing cold, we have had a full week of warm, beautiful sunshine!  Some of my flowers are already starting to pop up, which is bringing lots of inspiration.

This week's TGIF Challenges is spotlighting one of my favorites...Stampin' Blends!  I LOVE any stamped image that I can color with these amazing pens!

Just Fur You

Hello stampin' friends!  I have managed to survive my first few days back at work after being off for two weeks.  It's never easy coming back, but it is nice to get back in to a routine.  But I don't lie...I'm counting the days until Spring Break!

Anyone who knows me, knows that I LOVE my doggies!  So you can imagine just how happy I was to see the adorable new doggie stamp set and coordinating punch!  The sweet pup reminds me of our lab that we lost a couple months ago, which is one of the main reasons I love this bundle so much.  I am working on a little scrapbook page for my boys in memory of our sweet boy, Koda.  

This cute card is going out to a sweet boy who lost his pup over Winter Break.  I am hopeful that it will bring a little smile to his sweet face!

Aren't the little paw prints and bones the cutest?!?  And I love the dog house.  This cute little doggie reminds me of my BFF's dog, Juniper.  The scruffy hair and little spots are just about in the exact same spots...too cute!  Now if we can just get some more dog stamps that look like my other pups!

One of my former co-workers lost her sweet dad right before Christmas.  I was so sad to hear this as I often made cards for his birthday and other special occasions, as well as cards for him to give to his friends.  It is never easy to lose a parent, no matter how old they might be.  I hope this card brings a little happiness into my friends day and lets her know that I'm thinking about her.

Delightfully Detailed Smiles

Hello stampers and welcome to Tuesday!  We are back to triple digit weather again, so I'm spending lots of time in my craft room.  It's too dang hot to do much of anything outside, unless it's swimming!  I'm not going to complain about extra stamping time!

I am NOT a frilly, flowery girl...what do you expect for a momma of 3 boys?!?!  But I stepped out of my comfort zone this morning and decided to play with the beautiful Delightfully Detailed Laser-Cut Specialty Paper.  This was introduced to us at OnStage back in April and it is amazing!  But my, oh my...it is so delicate.  I was a little freaked out to cut in to it, but once I did, I fell in love!  My favorite thing about this paper is that it is Very Vanilla on one side and Whisper White on the other...perfect!

Twinkle Twinkle Little One ~ Monday Montage

Welcome back to Monday Montage!!!  We are back with another fabulous hop!  Make sure you click on the links below so you don't miss any of the creations...you are sure to love them all!

Since my boys are older and we don't have a lot of friends having babies at the moment, I always seem to glance over any baby related stamp sets or suites.  But when I saw the Twinkle Twinkle suite, it was one that I had to have.  Sure, it's mainly for little ones, but it would also make for a great anniversary or just because card for your significant other.

I made a few cute cards with this suite to share with you today.  The first one is a sweet little card using the new Petal Pink card stock.  I'm really liking this color, especially with the other great colors in the Twinkle Twinkle DSP.  This card will make it's way to our neighbor who just had an adorable baby girl last week.  I can't wait to go buy her a cute little girly outfit!

 Next up is a card that I plan on giving to my hubby, just because.  I don't leave him little notes or cards as often as I should and this sentiment is perfect!  I used some of the Glossy White cardstock and added a little Pool Party watercolor background.  I stamped the heart shape in the awesome new Gray Granite and added the sentiment in Night of Navy.  I added a few splatters of Pool Party and stamped a few Gray Granite stars.  With a few of the Twinkle Sequins, this card is complete!

 My last card is a cute one that could be used for any occasion for your favorite little person.  I love the Twinkle Builder Punch and all of the patterns in the DSP. I added a little bit of the Sparkle Glimmer paper behind the punch out stars and moon for just a bit of bling. This suite kind of reminds me of a sweet storybook I used to read my boys when they were younger.

Just a Note

Happy Wednesday stampers!  I have to admit...I've kind of been neglecting the amazing goodness in the annual catalog.  It happens EVERY time the Occasions Catalog comes out! I get so wrapped up in all of the new stuff that I forget about some of the awesome stamp sets from the annual catty!

 

We've had lots of gloomy weather lately, so I thought it would be fun to create a card to brighten up a friends day!  The Tutti-frutti DSP combined with the Lift Me Up stamp set and Up & Away Thinlits made for a fun and cheerful card!

Never give up

My motto for today...Never Give Up!  I woke up to a cold, rainy, windy morning and wanted nothing more to crawl back into bed and skip out the 10K I had signed up to run.  But a little voice kept saying, "Don't give up, you can do this!"  So I dressed in some of my warmer running gear, laced up my shoes and set off for the 2012 Crush Run.  And I am oh-so-thankful that I did!  The clouds parted just as the race started and we had a beautiful run though some of our beautiful vineyards.

This motto also kept me going while I was working on my latest card challenges.  My friend Katie, over at Sweet N Spiffy, picked out a fun sketch and a tricky color combo for our latest creation challenge!  She went with a sketch from Pink Paper Bakery and the color combo comes from colourQ.  Take a look!

I'm not gonna lie...this color combo was a tricky one!  (I did have to substitute a couple colors, but they were pretty close.)  At first, all I could think about was a Halloween card, but I'm kind of burned out on Halloween.   I played around with a few ideas and finally settled on this:

It is hard to tell in the picture, but the little star burst flowers are stamped in both Pumpkin Pie and Tangerine Tango ink.  This kind of reminds me of a picture you would see in a Chinese restaurant or something :D

Freshly Made Dynamic Duo

Last night at Stamp Club, my fellow paper crafting friend Katie asked me if I wanted to try something fun with all of the challenges we participate in.  I'm always up for a challenge, so I jumped right in!  Katie's idea was for each of us to take turns picking two challenges (ie: sketch and color challenge) and creating a project.  Fun, right?  I had already created a card for the challenges over at Freshly Made Sketches and Dynamic Duos, so I asked Katie if she wanted to start with these two.  She quickly agreed and got home as quick as she could to get busy with her creation.  Check out her fun blog at Sweet N Spiffy to see what she came up as well as all of her other GREAT creations!

Here is what we had to work with with these two challenges:

CAS sketch and some fun colors too!   I knew right away I wanted to pull some DSP from my Comfort Cafe stash for my card.  It took me a bit to decide which design to use, but I finally settled on the pretty soft suede design.
