Unbridled Birthday Wishes

There’s something so satisfying about a color challenge that really stretches your creativity, and this one from Hand Stamped Sentiments did just that! This week’s trio—Pecan Pie, Misty Moonlight, and Old Olive—felt earthy, calming, and perfect for a rustic-inspired design.

For my card, I leaned into those natural tones and created a layered birthday card with a bit of countryside charm. The striped background comes from the Waterside Retreat Designer Series Paper, and I love how the soft Misty Moonlight stripes add a relaxed, breezy feel while still grounding the design.

I framed the stamped scene beautifully with a Pecan Pie Textured Notes frame. The horse image from the Unbridled Beauty stamp set became the star of the card—its warm tones work perfectly with Pecan Pie, while subtle Old Olive details in the background add just enough contrast without overpowering the design.

To add a bit of texture and interest, I roughed up the edges behind the focal panel and added some simple Crumb Cake twine. It’s an easy way to bring in that rustic, handmade feel. The “Happy Birthday” sentiment from Simply Said ties everything together and keeps the design cohesive.

What I love most about this card is how these three colors balance each other—Pecan Pie brings warmth, Misty Moonlight adds depth, and Old Olive gives a fresh, natural touch. It’s a combination I’ll definitely be using again!

Thanks so much for stopping by! I hope this inspires you to give this color combo a try and join in on the Hand Stamped Sentiments challenge this week.

Freshly Made Hobby Haven

Happy New Year friends and welcome to 2026!

I'm starting the New Year off right...in my craft room.  I hope you are also getting to spend a little extra crafty time today as well.

I'm playing along with the latest Freshly Made Sketches challenge and having some fun with the Hobby Haven Designer Series Paper.
These pre-cut designs helped to bring this card together in no time!  You have to love a quick and easy card.  I used my favorite Happy Birthday Sentiment from Simply Said and added a few Dear Dots and a little Garden Green Chevron Ribbon to complete the card. Isn't it cute?!?

If you love to snip adorable Designer Series Paper images as much as I do, you will LOVE Hobby Haven.  These retro colored kitchen gadgets help to create the prefetch birthday card for a sweet lady who loves to spend time in the kitchen!

Paint the Town...

...it's your birthday!

Welcome to an all new TGIF Product Challenge...alphabet dies!  I don't know about you, but I have collected so many sets of alphabet dies over the years! They can be used for any card, any occasion.  Do you have a favorite set of alphabet dies?

The Mini Alphabet dies are one of my favorite!  I die cut HAPPY in a rainbow of colors to coordinate with the paintbrush colors, adding a shadow of Basic Black behind each letter to make them pop a bit more.

I used the Painted Stripes background stamp to create the brush strokes...how fun is this?!?  Melon Mambo, Timid Tiger, Darling Duckling, Granny Apple Green an Coastal Cabana create a rainbow of happiness!  Simply Said helped to complete the Happy Birthday sentiment.

Fruit Salad Thank You

Happy Friday friends!  It's time for an all new TGIF Challenges sketch challenge and it's a fun one!

As soon as I saw this sketch, I knew I needed to snip some of the yummy fruits from the upcoming Sale-A-Bration Fruit Salad DSP!

This Designer Series Paper is FULL of yummy fruits.  I snipped out some of my favorites to play along with the sketch.  For those who know me well, you'll notice that I didn't include a banana...LOL!

I added some texture with the Dashing Designs 3D embossing folder and a bit more color with another fun pattern of DSP.  I love the extra pop of Garden Green from the Adhesive-Backed Transparent Dots.

A simple Simply Said Thank You sentiment was the perfect finishing touch!

Abstract Birthday Wishes

Friday's always mean an all new TGIF Challenges!  This week we have an inspirational abstract image to help get your creativity flowing!  I can't wait to see what everyone is inspired to create!

I love the textured black background with white splatters, so I stared there!  I embossed a piece of Basic Black with the Painted Texture 3D Embossing Folder and splattered it with Whisper White ink.

Pulling inspiration from the pinks and golds within the inspiration photo, I die-cut some leafy images using the Textured Floral Dies from Basic White, Petunia Pop and Gold Mercury Vellum.

I nested a few strands of Petunia Pop Boarded Ribbon with just a hint of the Gold Twisted Thread behind the die-cut leaves.
A simple Happy Birthday sentiment from Simply Said stamped in Petunia Pop on Basic White really pops against the Basic Black background.  A few gold Sparkle Gems hidden amongst the leaves add just a bit more shimmer and shine.

What inspiration will you pull from today's challenge?  Be sure to share it with us over at TGIF Challenges.

Merry Monday Thank You

Happy Monday friends!  I hope you all had a restful and relaxing weekend that included a little creative time.  I was able to spend quite a bit of time in my craft room this weekend, which made my creative heart very happy!

This Merry Monday brings you a wintery Thank You card, inspired by the amazing Mikaela Titheridge.  She created a beautiful card with the Winterly Tree Tops stamp set, using Basic Beige rather than Basic White for the birds.  I love how the Basic Beige softens the stamped image!
I wanted to go with a softer shade for the berries, but after coloring them in Calypso Coral, the berries looked like something totally different and maybe a bit inappropriate...so Real Red it was!

I added an extra layer of greenery behind the birds to make it a bit more festive.  The pop of red behind the birch pattern Nests of Winter DSP, along with the sentiment embossed on red give this card the warm, wintery feeling.

Just a hint of texture was added using the Birch Wood 3D Embossing Folder.  I think I'll be making a lot of these to send out as Christmas Thank You cards this year!

Textured Floral Birthday

Where do you start when you make a card? With a sketch?  With a color combo?  With an inspiration photo?  There are so many creative ways to get started on a project!

For this card, I started by pulling a variety of ink pads using the Color Theory wheel found on page 132 of the Annual Catalog.  If you haven't used this as a color combination resource yet, be sure to check it out!

I stamped the floral images in Moody Mauve, Berry Burst and Blackberry Bliss.  Mossy Meadow and Shaded Spruce were used for the leaves and I added a touch of Pretty Peacock and Basic Beige.

This pattern of Perennial Lavender DSP was the perfect background for all of the rich floral colors.

Inspiration for today's card came from the latest Global Design Project Case the Designer Challenge.  I cased the layout of Ann's beautiful card.

Where will you find your creative inspiration today?
