I'm Dreaming of a White{tail} Christmas

Merry Christmas Eve to all of you!!!  Are you all finished with your Christmas preparations or are you scrambling like me to finish up all of the last minute details?  I always say I'm going to stay caught up and not get all stressed out come Christmas Eve, but I've yet to make that happen.  But it is what it is and all will be happy in the end, no matter what!

My twin boys and I spent some time together over the weekend making cards for my hubby.  Anyone who knows my husband knows that he is an AVID hunter, which I believe is genetic, because all three of my boys talk of nothing but hunting too!  So, of course we had to make cards using the big ol' buck from Remembering Christmas.
Inspired by the awesomely talented Erica Cerwin, I cased her card with a little added twist of my own...
Supplies Used:
Paper ~ Natural Composition DSP, Very Vanilla, Season of Style DSP, Etcetera DSP
Ink ~ Cherry Cobbler, VersaMark
Stamp Sets ~ Remembering Christmas, Christmas Messages
Other Supplies ~ Labels Collection Framelits, Linen Thread, Whisper White Embossing Powder

Aidan searched Pinterest and found a design he wanted to copy and came up with this card....
And Hunter did some Pinterest searching of his own and designed this card.  He loved using the distressing tool!!!
They are both so proud of their cards and can not wait to give them to their Daddy tomorrow morning when he gets home from work.

Tonight we will join our fire family for a festive dinner at the fire station...our second year in a row of doing this.  I love the bond that my husband has with all of his brothers and how our families have all become one big blended family.  I don't think one every truly understands the whole "brotherhood" of a fire or police department until you become a part of that family.  Warms my heart and makes me smile.

Wishing you all a very Merry Christmas!

A hunting he will go

Yep, it's that time of year again...hunting season!  The time of year where I become a hunter's widow and the discussions around the dinner table are all about hunting.  Between now and the end of the year I will see very little of my hubby on his days off...lets just hope he has a successful season and we have a freezer full of meat when it's all over :)
I always try to sneak a card into my hubby's pack on opening day and I was successful in doing so this morning (thanks to our new puppy for getting me up so super early!).  This was a quick card with not much detail, but I'm pretty sure the hubs will still like it!
Supplies Used:
Paper ~ Early Espresso, Pumpkin Pie, Naturals White
Ink ~ Pumpkin pie, Early Espresso, Baked Brown Sugar, Crumb Cake, Sahara Sand, Old Olive, Always Artichoke, Whisper White Craft
Stamp Sets ~ ABC-123 Sketched Alphabet, Remembering Christmas, Gorgeous Grunge
Other Supplies ~ Distressing Tool, Vintage Trinkets, Aqua Painter

I tried a new {to me} technique on the deer.  I stamped him in Whisper White Craft in then used my Aqua Painter to give him some color using some different shades of brown.  A fun technique and I really like how this big ol' buck turned out.  Here's to hoping my hubby gets a big ol' buck of his own today!  But considering that it is pouring rain right now, chances are slim.

Time to get a little more stamping done before the kiddos wake up!  And I'm really hoping I can sneak in a nap later today when my little one naps...this momma is gonna need one!

Big Buck Birthday and Beach Bum Summer

Happy Tuesday and Happy Birthday to my hubby!!!

Summer is winding down and school will be starting back up two weeks from today.  And with the end of summer comes the beginning of hunting season.  Hunting season to my hubby is like Christmas morning to a child.  It's all he can think about...and it's starting to rub off on our boys and they all drive me a bit crazy with all of their hunting talk.  But weekend hunts for the boys means weekend stamping for the momma :-)

When I saw the Remembering Christmas stamp set in the Holiday Catalog, the first thing I thought was "my husband is going to love this stamp!".  With a little Gorgeous Grunge camo, this Big Buck made for the perfect birthday card!
Supplies Used:
Paper ~ Early Espresso, Very Vanilla, Early Espresso Core'dinations
Ink ~ Early Espresso, Baked Brown Sugar, Crumb Cake, Soft Suede, Old Olive, Always Artichoke
Stamp Sets ~ Remembering Christmas, Gorgeous Grunge
Other Supplies ~ Deco Labels Framelits, Label Card Thinlits (banner), Woodgrain Embossing Folder, Linen Thread
I couldn't find a  birthday sentiment stamp to fit in the little banner, so I pulled up MDS and made my own...LOVE that about MDS!

Speaking of MDS...it's Download Tuesday!  Check out this weeks NEW Downloads here.  I have been playing around in MDS a lot more lately and I really do love it!  Don't forget, you can try it for FREE for 30 days!  I have a scrapbook page to share with you today too.  This weeks Simply My Digital Studio Challenge (Facebook) is to create a page with our end of summer pictures.  Being that we just got home from our annual end of summer beach trip, I had some perfect pictures to share...take a peek!
We had an awesome summer vacation this year!  I hope you have all had a great summer too!
