Welcoming Woods Birthday Wishes

Happy Wednesday stampin' friends!

Fall is officially here, the weather is getting colder and the days are getting shorter.  While I am far from ready for snow, I am happy to create a snowy scene with paper, stamps and ink!
Welcoming Woods caught my eye in the Mini Catalog right away, but I just recently added it to my collection.  I love the simplicity of this stamp set.
I stamped the trees in Memento, then added a snowfallen blanket of Balmy Blue.  Using the Blending Brushes, I added a bit more Balmy Blue along the bottom.  I softened up the sky with a light bruising of Smoky Slate...the perfect winter sky!

A few heat embossed white snowflakes were added amongst the trees for a peaceful touch.  I am not a fan of the cold winter months, but I do love the peacefulness of freshly fallen snow.  A simple sentiment and a few bits of pretty blue bling were all these trees needed.

I tore the top and bottom of the stamped panel and layered it on a strip of Basic Black embossed with the Bark 3D embossing folder.  I thought I had grabbed a piece of Smoky Slate card stock, but it was actually Gray Granite and I really liked how it all came together.  Some days it's good for me to let my OCD go and mix things up a bit!

Thanks for stopping by today!

Happy Stamping!

Waterfront Anniversary

Hello and happy Saturday! It's a very happy Saturday for me...my hubby and I are celebrating out 17th wedding anniversary AND I'm finally back in my all new craft room!  Thanks to my dad and my husband, my craft room is {almost} finished and so beautiful!  As soon as the last few little things are complete, I will share pictures with you!  Stay tuned...
Until then, I am happy to share the anniversary card I made for my husband using the beautiful retiring Waterfront stamp set.  I am really sad to see this set go...it has been a well loved set in my collection!
I started out by creating the sunset, blending shades of Balmy Blue, So Saffron and one of the new In Colors, Pale Papaya.  I used a mask for the sun, the added just the lightest amount of So Saffron to fill it in.  A few little wisps of clouds were stamped to bring all of the colors together.
The mountains were stamped in shades of Crumb Cake and Soft Suede, then blended in with a little more Crumb Cake and Old Olive.  A forest of trees were stamped in Old Olive and the gorgeous new Evening Evergreen In Color.  The sentiment, which I love so much, was stamped in Memento.

I layered the sunset scene on a Tasteful Textile embossed piece of Soft Suede and used Evening Evergreen for the card base.  It needed a little something extra...hello Braided Linen Trim!  Thank you for being the something extra! I'm super sad to see this retire too!

Our anniversary is always right in the middle of baseball season, which means most of our day will be spent apart with my husband getting the Little League fields ready for opening day on Monday and me watching one of our twins play at the high school.  I'm hoping we can join back up this evening for a nice dinner out!

Have a super Saturday!

Happy Stamping!

Hydrangea Love ~ #HSSIC361

Spring is here and this weeks Hand Stamped Sentiments Inspiration Challenge is full of colorful springtime images that are sure to inspire you to create!

My craft room is still torn apart, awaiting my new desk, so stamp time has been very limited!  The good news is that my desk should be installed by tomorrow and I will be back in business.  The even better news is that I had created a card a little bit ago that I haven't shared yet and it fits right in with todays challenge!

I love Hydrangea's especially with white and green varieties.  I love adding them to a bouquet of other brightly colored flowers!
I create the background by inking up the largest hydrangea background stamp and "tapping" it in random patterns on a piece of Shimmery White cardstock.  This was done using shades of Mint Macaroon and Granny Apple Green.  I then came in with the stamped off color of Pretty Peacock, with the smaller background stamp.  Then I bushed a soft layer of Bermuda Bay to blend it all together and added a few Night of Navy splatters.  I learned this fun technique from one of the awesome Crafty Carrot Collective tutorials.  (If you haven't subscribed yet...DO IT! )
The hydrangea was heat embossed in white on Velum and the tiny little tag was added.  I wrapped it all up with some Snail Mail twine and a few little Whale of a Time sequins.

I hope you are all enjoying spring and can't wait to see what you are inspired to create today!

Happy Stamping!

Have a Cool Birthday ~ #TGIFC308

Happy Friday and welcome to an all new TGIF Challenges Inspiration Challenge! I can't wait to see what this weeks challenge inspires you to create
I was inspired by the watercolor wash in the photo.  At first I thought about creating something with flowers, but a couple of popsicles that I had fussy cut a few weeks ago were sitting on my desk and caught my eye.  The images from the Sweet Ice Cream stamp set all have a watercolor look to them, so my inspiration took a different turn.
Using some of the fabulous Blending Brushes, I brushed some Just Jade and Bermuda Bay on a piece of Shimmery White card stock.  I added a few splatters of Bermuda Bay and a couple drops of water for some "bleached out" spots.  This is such a fun way to create a watercolor background without a much mess!

The sweet popsicles were also inked up in Granny Apple Green and Bermuda Bay.  (My son said he bets they would taste like green apple and blue raspberry!) A bold Happy Birthday was stamped in Memento and fussy cut.  I finished it off with a Granny Apple Green, Coastal Cabana and Bermuda Bay "You're So Cool".  A few Coastal Cabana Resin Dots and this card was complete.  (After layering a few more pieces of cardstock, of course!)

What will you be inspired to create today?

A CASE of Sweet Strawberry Birthday Wishes

Hello and happy Sunday!  I hope you are all enjoying your weekend and sneaking in a little creative therapy.  It has been a busy weekend so far, but I did still manage to get some of my own creative therapy and played along with the latest Global Design Project Challenge.  This week is CASE the Designer Janneke de Jong.
I addition to CASEing Janneke, I'm also bringing in a little Krista Frattin of Stampin' Dolce.  The Sweet Strawberry projects she has created this past month have been gorgeous!
I stamped the sweet strawberry vines in VersaMark and heat embossed them in White.  I added a light layer of Pool Party ink with the amazing new Blending Brushes, along with a few Pool Party Splatters to create the perfect background for a sweet and juicy strawberry.

The strawberry was stamped in Poppy Parade, topped with a Granny Apple Green stem, a few Garden Green leaves and a couple Petal Pink blooms.  Anyone else craving strawberries now?!?!
The sweet strawberry was layered on top of a simple strip of Berry Delightful DSP and topped off with a bold sentiment heat embossed in white on Basic Black.  A few Artistry Blooms sequins in the center of the flowers and this sweet card is complete!

I think we are wrapping up the end of our winter weather and easing into spring.  I can't wait for my own little strawberry patch to be filled with sweet berries again soon!
