Perfect As You

It's Wednesday!!!  Half way through the week AND the first day of Spring!  I don't know about the weather in your neck of the woods, but it does NOT look like Spring here today.  We had snow in the wee hours of the morning, then rain, then hail, then wind...now the sun is trying to peek through.  Maybe this was Mother Natures way of clearing out the last bit of winter...
Wednesday also means a new sketch at Freshly Made Sketches.  Jen M has a great sketch for all of us!

And yes, I have another card using some Sale-A-Bration items!

Supplies Used:
Paper ~ Crumb Cake, Whisper White, Pool Party, Summer Starfruit, Sycamore Street DSP
Ink ~ VersaMark
Stamp Set ~ Vintage Verses
Other Supplies ~ Pool Party Embossing Powder, Sycamore Street Ribbon & Buttons (Pool Party), Window Frame Framelits, Large Scallop Edgelit, Essentials and Festive Paper Piercing Pack

This card quickly found it's way to a co-worker who had surgery yesterday.  I first thought of this sentiment as for a birthday only, but I think it can also be used for a "just because" card as well.  I hope it brightens her day!

Hope Spring has sprung in your neck of the woods!

Happy Spring and Happy Stamping!

Freshly Made Swallowtail

Finally Friday...woo hoo!!!  I always look forward to Friday, but I've really been looking forward to this Friday.  I get to spend some time with two great friends for a belated GNO birthday celebration.  Sushi and Beautiful Creations...can't wait!
Another thing I've been looking forward to and patiently awaiting was my latest Stampin' Up! order.  The man in brown came knocking yesterday and delivered me my box of goodies...hooray!!  In this order was the awesome Swallowtail stamp that I have been lusting over, as has my 7 year old son.  We both squealed with excitement when I opened the box.  He will be very excited to see this card when he gets home from school :)

Supplies Used:
Paper ~ Basic Black
Ink ~ VersaMark
Stamp Sets ~ Swallowtail, Vintage Versus (SAB)
Other Supplies ~ Pool Party Embossing Powder, Heat Tool, Dimensionals

My cards almost always start with a sketch and this one comes to you from the current sketch at Freshly Made Sketches.  You can't tell very well from the picture, but the butterfly is cut out and popped up with some Dimensionals.  I don't know about you, but I LOVE the Pool Party EP on black...stunning!  And I love this sentiment too.  I wish the SAB items were around longer than they are...I'm having so much fun using them in my classes!

Wishing you all a wonderful weekend!

Happy Stamping!

MDS to the rescue!

There is nothing more stressful than getting a phone call from your boss...especially when it's to ask you to make him a birthday card for a "very special family member".  GULP!  His helpful tip for creating this card was that this special man has a passion for airplanes.  As I hang up after telling him "I'll see what I can come up with", panic sets in.  Airplanes?  I don't have any airplane stamps!!!  I asked a few fellow demos to see if they had any, but no such luck.  Then tonight as we are eating dinner I remember...MDS!!!  The Adventure Awaits stamp brush set was part of the MDS2 download...hooray!  With a little sketch inspiration from Freshly Made Sketches I was able to create a card for a special young man who will be celebrating his 90th birthday!

 Supplies Used:
Paper ~ Midnight Muse, Crumb Cake, Very Vanilla, First Edition DSP
Ink ~ Midnight Muse
Stamp Sets ~ Adventure Awaits (MDS), Vintage Verses (SAB)
Other Supplies ~ Metallic Brads, Houndstooth Embossing Folder, Stampin' Distress Tool

Whew!  Now I can sleep tonight knowing I've got this card done :)

If you haven't tried MDS, give it a try!  You get a 30 day trial for FREE!  You won't regret it...it may just save your crafting emergency!  LOL!

Happy Stamping!

Just Because

With the new year here, I decided this year to not make resolutions, but set goals and create a Bucket List for the year.  I do much better when I have a list that I can check things off as I accomplish them :)  One of my goals this year is to send out at least one card a week, just because.  Everyone loves to get a card in the mail, especially when it is for nothing more than to say hi!
So, my first card that went out was this one...

The sketch for this card came from one of my favorite challenge sites...Try Stampin' on TuesdayIf you haven't visited their site yet, add it to your Bucket List for this year...you won't regret it!
