Seriously, I REALLY love you

What a Monday!  The IT department did a system upgrade over the weekend at work and thing were...CRAZY today!  All I can say is that I'm happy that I don't work in IT and I am VERY grateful to those who do!
I started on this card early this morning before work with hopes of completing it during my lunch hour, but my lunch hour didn't really happen today.  Oh well...gave me a good excuse to come down to my craft room and un-wind :)
I saw this weeks Retro Sketches sketch and knew right away that I wanted to use some of my This and That Epic Day paper and stickers.  Add the Dude You're Welcome stamp set along with the "Seriously" stamp from April's Paper Pumpkin and you end up with a Seriously Epic card!
Supplies Used:
Paper ~ Pool Party Core'dinations, Calypso Coral, Whisper White, This and That Epic Day DSP
Ink ~ Crumb Cake, Gumball Green
Stamp Sets ~ Dude You're Welcome, April Paper Pumpkin, Really Good Greetings
Other Supplies ~ Cute Clips, Small Heart, Chevron Embossing Folder, This and That Epic Day Stickers

Yep, pretty sure this DSP is still my favorite!  But that could all change once I get my hands on the new DSP I just ordered from the new catty

Hope you all had a better day than I did and have an even better day tomorrow!

Soho Subway Birthday

Good morning my crafty friends!  I have a quick post for you this morning with a peek at the new Soho Subway DSP...quickly becoming another favorite!  This is another card my friend asked me to make for her niece, who will be celebrating her 25th birthday in a few weeks.

Supplies Used:
Paper ~ Early Espresso, Early Espresso Core'dinations, Crisp Cantaloupe, Very Vanilla, Soho Subway DSP
Ink ~ Crisp Cantaloupe, Early Espresso, Island Indigo, Summer Starfruit
Stamp Sets ~ Label Love, Oh Hello, March Paper Pumpkin
Other Supplies ~ Chevron Embossing Folder, Sanding Block, Artisan Label Punch, 1 1/4" Scallop Circle Punch, Oval Collection Framelits, Antique Brads, Typeset Alphabet

I love the combination of this paper with the "distressed" chevron patterns of the embossed paper and stamped oval.  I wasn't sure if they would work together, but I am pretty happy with the end result.  I randomly sponged ink on the oval chevron stamp (Oh, Hello), lighter in some places, heavier in others to create a somewhat distressed look.  I then stamped off the splatter stamp (March Paper Pumpkin) twice before stamping them on top of the chevron image.  I love the Core'dinations paper and am so excited to see MORE of it in the new catalog!

Off to get ready for my Sunday morning Stamp Club...love this class!  Sipping coffee and stamping with some of my favorite ladies is the perfect way to spend a Sunday morning!

Whirl{WIND} kind of day

It's not even 6:00PM and I am ready for bed!  Started my day off with an early morning, and very WINDY, run, finished up some projects I had started last night, went to watch my twins baseball game in the freezing cold WIND, came home and took advantage of the little mans nap time and made a couple cards...then me and my hubby took off for a little afternoon get away to the Tri-Cities while my momma stayed with the kiddos.  We had a nice lunch at Twigs, did a little shopping and just caught up on our lives without the interruptions from 3 little boys ;)  It's been a fun, busy and, did I mention, WINDY day!  My mom was kind enough to keep the boys for a few more hours so my hubby and I can enjoy a nice dinner out tonight to celebrate our anniversary since it was not possible earlier this week.  Two meals with just the two of us...that never happens!  Thanks Mom!
Before we head out, I took some time to clean up my craft space and took pictures of some of my creations from earlier today.  This one was inspired by the current color challenge over at Fab Friday.  I love these colors!
My Crumb Cake card stock has been feeling a little neglected lately...Sahara Sand took over for awhile.  And I love me some white craft ink on Crumb Cake, so that is how my card stared.  Add some fun DSP and a super cute stamp and...voila!

Supplies Used:
Paper ~ Crumb Cake, Whisper White, Calypso Coral, Pool Party, Patio Party DSP
Ink ~ Pool Party, Calypso Coral, Summer Starfruit, Whisper White Craft
Stamp Sets ~ Make a Cake, Paper Pumpkin (Jots and Thoughts Try It Kit), Itty Bitties, Sweet Essentials
Other Supplies ~ Calypso Coral Bakers Twine

I stamped a row of the cute little butterflies from the Make a Cake set inside the card and added a few single butterflies (Itty Bitties) in the white polka dots on the DSP.  Quick and easy card and cute to boot!

My rest time is over...time to get ready for a date with my hubby!  I told him I feel like an old married couple going to dinner so early...I'm sure we'll be home before 8 and in bed by 9.  Either we're getting old or we are just too darn busy to stay out late anymore!

Paper Pumpkin Re-Created

I loved the paper that came in the first months Paper Pumpkin kit...the ombre paper is awesome and I knew I would have to try to re-create my own version.  With the latest color challenge over at Hand Stamped Sentiments, I decided it was time to see what I could do to create my own ombre paper.
Here's a look at the cheerful colors:
And here is my re-creation of the fun paper using the Distressed Dots stamp:
Supplies Used:
Paper ~ Island Indigo, Whisper White, This and That Epic Day DSP
Ink ~ Daffodil Delight, Island Indigo, Lucky Limeade
Stamp Set ~ Paper Pumpkin (March Kit), A Round Array
Other Supplies ~ 1 1/4" & 7/8" Scallop Circle Punch, Basic Rhinestones, Butterfly Sticker (Paper Pumpkin Try It Kit), Island Indigo Bakers Twine

To create the ombre paper, I stamped my Distressed Dots stamp in Lucky Limeade.  Then I took a scrap sheet of paper, placed it over the bottom half of the stamp to stamp off some color.  I moved the scrap paper down a few more inches and stamped off again...voila!  Ombre effect!  I LOVE the stamps that came in the March Paper Pumpkin and have used them a TON (along with This and That Epic Day DSP...sorry!).  It's a good thing the next Paper Pumpkin will soon be delivered and I'll have something new to play with ;)

So, who hasn't subscribed to Paper Pumpkin yet?  YOU?!?!  Do you know you are missing out on a cute little box full of stamping goodness that is delivered to your doorstep each and every month?!? Retro Hexagons

I said it in my last post and I'll say it again...I LOVE the new This and That Epic Day DSP!!!!  I have had the pack of paper out since I got it and have used it in almost every single project.  My apologies in advance for the possibility of numerous posts with this paper :)
I had some fun with the latest challenge over at Retro Sketches.   Here's a look at the sketch:
And my take on the sketch, which is full of hexagons :) I ran the Pool Party Core'dinations card stock through my big shot with the Honeycomb Embossing Folder then roughed it up a bit with my Stampin' Distress Tool and Sanding Block. The smaller hexagons come from a piece of DSP that I also ran through the Big Shot with the Honeycomb Embossing Folder then tore out.  The roughed up edges are perfect with the distressed look of this DSP.  I embossed the "Hey there Friend" stamp in Pool Party, which is a little hard to see in the picture, but looks awesome in person.

Supplies Used:
Paper ~ Naturals White, Pool Party Core'dinations, This and That Epic Day DSP
Ink ~ Gumball Green, VersaMark
Stamp Set ~ Paper Pumpkin (March Kit)
Other Supplies ~ Honeycomb Embossing Folder, Pool Party Embossing Powder, Pool Party Bakers Twine, Stampin' Distress Tool, Sanding Block

I am so, so, so happy that Pool Party and Calypso Coral are going to be sticking around.  I can't wait to find out what other colors make the cut in the new catalog...just a few more weeks and we'll find out!

Happy Stamping!

Fab Friday Mashup

It's Friday night...the big boys are sleeping over at Grandma & Grandpa's, the little man is sound asleep, my hubby is working a 72 hour shift and I'm in my pj's catching up on my favorite shows (Nashville, Smash and Chicago Fire) and playing with some new stampin' goodies!  I'm in my happy place :D I ordered the new This and That bundle and it was finally delivered today...hooray for new stuff!!!  I have a new favorite DSP...This and That Epic Day.  It's AWESOME!!!  It all has a very distressed look, fun patterns and the colors are amazing!  I could not wait to tear into this package of paper and play.  And I was so excited to bring my gumball green paper and ink back out...it's been a bit ignored since the Christmas season.
This weeks challenge over at The Friday Mashup was made for This and That Epic Day DSP...lined paper and a distressed appearance.  Add to it the awesome sketch from Fab Friday and I came up with this:
Supplies Used:
Paper ~ Gumball Green, This and That Epic Day DSP
Ink ~ Gumball Green, VersaMark
Stamp Set ~ Paper Pumpkin
Other Supplies ~ Pop-Up Posies Kit (tag and brad), Pool Party Ruffled Ribbon, Gumball Green Stitched Satin Ribbon, Pool Party Embossing Powder, 1 3/4" Scallop Circle

I punched out a few different patterns from the DSP to create the flower...here's a close up of the flower and a better shot of the embossed sentiment:

Again, I love, love, LOVE this DSP...you are sure to see a lot more of it over the next few days I'm sure ;)  But for now, I must finish up the last of my Easter projects for my kiddos.  Going to take advantage of my hubby being gone and get in a few nights of late night crafting!

Happy Stamping!
