Hi friends! I feel like I've been in a stamping slump the past week or so. All I've been able to manage is CASE'ing cards and have not been able to come up with anything on my own. Ever have that problem? Well, I think I may have pulled myself out of that slump a little bit today, thanks to the latest challenges over at The Friday Mashup and Hand Stamped Sentiments. The Friday Mashup Challenge is to create a monochromatic project using Baker's Twine...I HEART Baker's Twine! This is the sketch that HSS has for us...
And this is what I came up with...
Supplies Used:
Paper ~ Crisp Cantaloupe, Calypso Coral, Very Vanilla
Ink ~ Crisp Cantaloupe, Calypso Coral
Stamp Sets ~ Blooming with Kindness, Sassy Salutations
Other Supplies ~ Window Frame Framelits, Modern Mosaic Embossing Folder, Calypso Coral Ruffled Ribbon, Calypso Coral Bakers Twine, Very Vintage Designer Buttons
I started this card out with just a plain sheet of the Calypso Coral paper, but it was too flat and boring. I tried using a few different embossing folders, but didn't like how any of them looked either. In trying to stay with the monochromatic idea, I didn't want to use any DSP, so...I ended up stamping the flower all over and I like how it turned out. Still simple, but not too boring!
Hopefully this is the end to my current stamping slump! Going to go see what else I can create today :)
Happy Stamping!
Your card is STUNNING! I think that we as demos make it harder than it needs to be, why beat yourself up for CASE-ing? Sometime we need a little inspiration and if you change the punches, or the images you really are just taking their inspiration. Cut yourself some slack and enjoy the creativity and process of it :-) Thanks for sharing with us at HSS!
ReplyDeleteLove the new in color with Calypso Coral! This is a great card. Thanks for joining us on the Friday Mashup this week.

ReplyDeleteYes! I'm in a creative slump too. It's exactly like you said, I feel like I don't have one great idea. I think it's this dry spell before a new catalog really goes live. I've refused to preorder anything this year and only want to order what I really love, so here I am with all old stuff :D You, my dear, are so talented, and make everything look fresh and wonderful, and you do have a knack for making truly beautiful cards. Including this one! Amazing florals! Glad you're playing at HSS! Erika
ReplyDeleteThank you all so much for your kind words...you all keep me inspired and help push my levels of creativity!
