Up, Up and Away with Benji

Welcome to an extra special Around the World on Wednesday Blog Hop!  This month we are taking Angie McKenzie's sweet pup, Benji, on a trip around the world with us. We are sharing a bit about where we are from, so fasten your seatbelts and get ready for an exciting trip!

I'm from a town so nice they named it twice...Walla Walla!  We are located in the southeastern corner of Washington state and summer has officially arrived!  Every year during Mother's Day weekend, hot air balloons from all around the United States come for the annual Balloon Stampede.  It is my favorite event of the year, so I thought it would be fun to share the experience with Benji!

I created a bright and cheerful scrapbook page and a card using the Something for Everything and Say Something Ephemera Packs, along with the Full of Life DSP.  How fun are these?!?

For the scrapbook page, I cut some squares of the Full of Life DSP and placed them in a pattern that reminded me of some of the hot air balloons. Bits and pieces from the Ephemera Packs added a little extra fun to the page and required no stamping! The picture is from the Nite Glow this year. As the sun goes down, the tethered balloons light up the night.  Isn't it beautiful Benji?

I had so much fun with the scrapbook page that I kept going and made a card to go along with it!  How fun is this pattern of DSP?!?

Seaside Wishes

Welcome to an all new Hand Stamped Sentiments Sketch Challenge!

This sketch gave me the perfect opportunity to ink up the gorgeous Seaside Wishes stamp set AND play with the Seaside Wishes Hybrid Embossing Folder.

I stamped the large sand dollar on Basic White in Basic Beige, along with a few Calypso Coral starfish and some Crumb Cake splatters.

A Basic Beige sand dollar was cut using the hybrid embossing folder...the texture is amazing!  Wanting to bring in some more color, I cut some of the other sea life in Calypso Coral and Coastal Cabana.

The So Swirly embossing folder added an ocean-like texture....my favorite place to be!

Cutest Cows Ever

 

Hello friends!  It's time for another Monday Montage Blog Hop!  Hop along and see what all of my crafty friends have to share with you!

I was super happy the Cutest Cows carried over to the Annual Catalog because it is so CUTE!

I created a rustic barn door from the Country Woods DSP. This awesome design came from Cindy's Crafty Carrot tutorial in May. (If you haven't seen it, find them on Facebook!). I stamped and colored the cows with the Stampin' Blends, along with the sunny sunflowers and a little baby rooster! 

The sweet little sentiment was stamped in Memento on a Stylish Shapes circle and a few Textured Dots were just what the barn door needed.  And you can't have a farm card without some sort of Linen Thread, right?!!

Racing By

Welcome to an all new TGIF Color Challenge!  My creative mind instantly thought of the fun new Racing By stamp set when I saw these colors...must be the boy-mom in me!

I stamped the race cars in Pumpkin Pie and Azure Afternoon, complete with Basic Gray drivers!

A couple strips of Basic Gray 6 X 6 DSP worked perfectly for a mini drag strip for the cars.  I stamped the racing flags in an alternating pattern in between for just a bit more color.

A blue ribbon was the only embellishment needed for this speedy birthday wish!

Make A Splash

Anyone else have to have ALL of the ocean and beach themed stamp sets?  I know I do, which is why I could not resist the adorable Friendly Fins bundle!  This hammer-head shark and dolphin are the cutest and I love the coral!

I used this weeks Freshly Made Sketches sketch to get started on this card.  Using the Silicon Mat, I smeared some Summer Splash ink and spritzed it with some water, then "smooshed" the Stylish Shapes Circle in the ink to create the perfect ocean for these Friendly Fins.  I tucked some of the coral and seaweed behind the circle to go along with the sketch, adding another piece on the bottom half as well.

The So Swirly Embossing Folder added some fun texture, reminding me of the ocean waves.

I can't wait to create more with this super cute bundle!
