Freaking Magnificent Mini Catalog ~ Control Freaks August 2021

Hello and welcome to August's Control Freaks Blog Hop!  This month we are celebrating how magnificent the Mini Catalog is and sharing some of our favorite products with you!  You might just be getting started or you may have arrive here from Cindy Elam's blog.  Either way, hop your way through and enjoy every stop along the way!
Today I am sharing two of my favorite bundles in the Mini Catalog! Nature's Harvest and Sweet Little Stockings bundles are FULL of wonderful, crafty goodness!
As most of you know, if you've been following me for sometime, I am 100% a summer girl.  I love the warm, sunny days of summer, but fall comes in at very close second.  The cooler mornings and evenings, soft hoodies, warm fall colors...they are the perfect way to ease me out of the summer each year.
The beautiful fall colors found in the Harvest Meadow DSP are so pretty and so much fun to work with.  I chose a fun mosaic tile pattern of DSP, along with a die-cut circle of the Soft Seafoam pattern with the prettiest script to layer a couple of the Harvest Dies flowers in shades of Crumb Cake and Bumblebee.
I love this beautiful sentiment, especially with the different fonts.  I let just a little bit of the Diamond Weave ribbon peek out from behind the die-cut sentiment and added a few In Color Jewels for just the right amount of bling.
A piece of Basic White was embossed with the Timeworn Type 3D embossing folder was a pretty added touch to the card front.  These colors are just so warm and welcoming!

Next up is the CUTEST sweet ever!!!  Sweet Little Stockings is perfect for all the animal lovers out there.  I am a sucker for cute puppies, which is probably why I just agreed to let my son get a new black lab puppy to train for hunting.  This will bring us up to five, yes FIVE, dogs.  Our crazy home is about to get crazier, but who can resist a cute puppy?!?!
I sat down with my paper snips and the adorable sheet of DSP with these cute dogs, cats and mice, cutting several out.  Fussy cutting is my calm!  I arranged them all on top of the festive Christmas lights pattern and Pool Party pattern Sweet Stockings DSP.  I love the cheerful colors in this pack!
The sentiment was heat embossed in white on Garden Green, then fussy cut.  A bit of texture was added to the Cherry Cobbler card from with the Tasteful Textile 3D embossing folder and a few Decorative Matte Dots were added for good measure.

Did you notice that I used the same sketch for both cards? I love that you can create two totally different styles of cards using the same sketch!  If you ever get stuck in your creative process, start with a sketch!

Thanks for stopping by today!

Next up is Melissa Davies!

Seashells and Friends

Hello friends!  It's been a bit since I last posted here...I was enjoying my last week of summer break!  My school year started today, which I was not ready for, but it did feel good to be back in my regular routine.

I usually try to stamp a bit each morning before heading in to work and this weeks Global Design Project Color Challenge was just what I needed to get back in my groove!

These soft colors had me dreaming of morning walks at the beach, collecting seashells.  I inked up Friends Are Like Seashells and added a Sailing Home lighthouse to complete the beach scene.

A soft Balmy Blue background was brushed on Basic White with the Blending Brushes, as well as a few Balmy Blue bubbles and some Pear Pizzazz seaweed.  The lighthouse and shells were layered with a few Artistry Blooms Sequins tucked in for just the right amount of bling.  The sentiment was simple stamped...no heat embossing, fussy cutting or die cutting...who am I?!?!

I layered this pretty beach scene on top of the light wood-grain In Good Taste DSP, then added it to a Basic White card base.  I love the clean, fresh air feel!

It was good to be back to work and see all of my co-workers, but I am exhausted!  Trading my summer yard work for mental work is a big change that my brain needs to adjust to again.

Thanks for stopping by today!

Meadows of Thanks ~ #HSSIC370

Hello stampers and welcome to an all new Hand Stamped Sentiments Inspiration Challenge!  These inspiration photos make me think of all the fun my family has had this summer!

We've spent the past week wrapping up the end of my summer break at the Oregon Coast.  We are headed home today, back to the 100+ degree weather.  Leaving the cool ocean air was NOT easy, nor will going back to work next week!

My inspiration was drawn from the sunflowers.  Seeing the sunflowers bloom in my garden is always a bitter sweet reminder that summer break is coming to an end.  Thankfully, I'll get to continue to enjoy these cheerful flowers in my garden for a bit long and in my craft room for as long as I want!

The flowers in Nature's Harvest are, what I believe, are Cone Flowers.  They are often found in the same colors as sunflowers and are another one of my favorites!  I stamped the bunch of flowers in Memento, then colored them in shades of Daffodil Delight, So Saffron, Cajun Craze, Old Olive and Soft Suede.

I cut strips of the beautiful Misty Moonlight pattern of DSP as well as a die-cut circle from a Bumble Bee DSP pattern.  I popped up the strips of Misty Moonlight to give them a floating effect and added the circle with the bunch of flowers layered on top.  A sweet Thank You sentiment with some bits of ribbon and twine and a few Metallic Dots completed the card.

While I am far from ready for summer to be over, I love these warm fall colors!

Thank you for stopping by today!  I do hope you will join us over at Hand Stamped Sentiments and share what you were inspired to create!

Happy Stamping!

Life is Better with Dahlias ~ Monday Montage

Hello and welcome to another Monday Montage Blog Hop!  Hop along with this talented group of stampers and be filled with inspiration!

If you've been following along with me for a while, you know that I love flowers, especially dahlias.  I've been on the Oregon coast for the past week, but will be headed home on Tuesday and I can't wait to see my dahlias.  They were just beginning to bloom before we left, so I'm hoping my garden will be full of beautiful blooms when we get home.

While I wait to see what my garden looks like at home, I will share some beautifully stamped dahlias from the beach.  I fell in love with Delicate Dahlias as soon as I saw it in the Sale-A-Bration catalog!

I stamped the dahlias in shades of Polished Pink, Petal Pink, Pale Papaya and So Saffron, with a few Old Olive leaves tucked in.  I stamped a single Calypso Coral dahlia, which I fussy cut and popped up in the middle of the card.
A dear friend of mine is also a fellow flower lover and will be celebrating her wedding anniversary soon.  Her sweet husband asked that I made her a card that he could give to her on their special day.  The sentiment from Peekaboo Farm was the perfect addition for this special occasion card.  And I can't forget a few of my favorite Artistry Blooms sequins.

Next up is my crafty friend Cathy!  Just click on the NEXT button to see what she has for us.  Or if you like to hop backwards, click on the BACK button to visit my BFF Wendy!

We still have one more day at the beach and it is supposed to be beautiful!  It has been a wonderful trip and I can't wait to come back for Thanksgiving!  After this trip, I think my hubby and I are rethinking our retirement plans...a beach house may be in our feature rather than an RV!

Coastal {Cabana} Petals

Happy Friday and welcome to an all new TGIF Challenges Color Challenge!

I am all about black and white with a pop of color!  I stared out using the Water Painters to create a background with Coastal Cabana on a piece of Shimmery White, but wasn't totally happy with how it turned out.  I set it aside and decided to go in a different direction with the Hand-Penned Petals stamp set and Penned Flowers dies. After die cutting the outline image of the flowers, I had the perfect use for the background piece I had set aside! I cut out a section of the background using the large flower die to go behind the outline image.  This is why I never throw things away!

I cut a few pieces of the coordinating Beautifully Penned DSP, which you can earn for FREE during Sale-A-Bration when you spend $50 US.  This paper is all black and white patters and SO pretty!  A little flag of Coastal Cabana was tucked in, then all layered on a piece of Basic White, embossed with the new Timeworn Type 3D embossing folder.  Another pop of Coastal Cabana was added behind the Basic White, layered on top of a Basic Black card base.

A simple "Thanks" sentiment, a little bit of black twine, a few rhinestones and a touch of Coastal Cabana splatter tied everything together.  This is a color combination that I will most certainly be using again soon!

I hope you will join along in the fun and share you Color Challenge creations with us!

Happy Stamping!
