Best Thoughts

Made it through another and we're kicking of Friday with an all new Friday Mashup!  This week Tara has a color combination with the added  challenge of a square card, something I don't make often enough!
The color combination is pink, grey and sky...so pretty together!  I'm short on sympathy cards, so I thought this color combo would make for a pretty card.
Supplies Used:
Paper ~ Smoky Slate, Whisper White
Ink ~ Pool Party, Smoky Slate, Watermelon Wonder, Wild Wasabi
Stamp Set ~ Best Thoughts, Gorgeous Grunge, Watercolor Wash
Other Supplies ~ Silver Metallic Thread, Everyday Chic Washi Tape, Rhinestone Basic Jewels

The Watercolor Wash stamp is quickly becoming one of my favorites...it gives just the right amount of color to the background.

Be sure to check out the rest of the design team creations and please join in on the fun!

Wishing you all a Happy Friday and a great weekend!

Happy stamping!

Your Joyful Presents

After a few crazy weeks, I feel like life is settling down a bit.  I don't have swaps to work on, my next stamp club is all planned, my design team duties are caught up...so I actually had a chance to stamp just for fun today!  Don't get me wrong...stamping is ALWAYS fun, but it's even more fun when you get to stamp just because.
Still on my Convention crafting high, I inked up Your Presents again this morning and played along with this weeks Freshly Made Sketches card sketch.  This sketch is very similar to one of the samples that was provided with our make and takes, so I kind of combined them.
Don't you love how fun bow can be turned into a peppermint candy?!?!  This stamp set has so many different things that can be done with it!
Supplies Used:
Paper ~ Whisper White, Cucumber Crush, Vellum, Dazzling Diamonds Glimmer Paper
Ink ~ Cucumber Crush, Watermelon Wonder, Pool Party, Basic Black
Stamp Set ~ Your Presents
Other Supplies ~ Banner Triple Punch, 1" Circle Punch, Whisper White Bakers Twine, Basic Black Taffeta Ribbon (which I just realized is retired!), Rhinestone Basic Jewels, Hand Held Stapler

I am loving the Cucumber, Watermelon and Pool Party color combo for Christmas...I see myself using these colors a LOT over the next few months!

Thanks for stopping by today!

Happy Stamping!

A Super Hero 4th Birthday

Happy, Happy 4th Birthday to my sweet baby boy!!!  I can't believe he is already 4...it seems like he was just born. Watching your children grow is a bitter sweet reminder of just how precious life is and not to miss out on one single moment because it all goes by way too fast.
Owen is all about super hero's these days, so I just HAD to make him a Captain America - his favorite - birthday card!
Supplies Used:
Paper ~ Pacific Point, Real Red, Whisper White, Smoky Slate, Silver Glimmer
Ink ~ Archival Basic Black, Crushed Curry, Pacific Point, Smoky Slate
Stamp Sets ~ Calling All Heroes, Tin of Cards

I hope Calling All Heroes sticks around for a long time...this is such a fun set and perfect for all the super hero fans out there!

Time to get my super hero out of bed and ready for his birthday breakfast with Grandma :-)  And we'll end the day with a birthday celebration at the football field...he'll go to bed a happy 4 year old tonight!

Hello, Have a Sunny Day

It's Monday...and I've got a serious case of the Monday "blah's", especially now that I'm really back to reality after being on vacation with all of my favorite Stampin' people!  But I am counting my blessings and feeling extremely grateful that I was able to attend Convention and spend time with so many amazing friends!
I have one last swap to share with you today.  This was for the group of stampers who participated in the 2014 Convention Display Boards.  We decided we love swapping so much last year that we had to do it again this year and let me tell you...all of the swaps I received were amazing!
Supplies Used:
Paper ~ Whisper White, Calypso Coral, Gold Glimmer Paper, Neutrals DSP Stack
Ink ~ Crushed Curry, Pool Party
Stamp Sets ~ Silhouettes & Script, Watercolor Wash
Other Supplies ~ Circle Framelits, Greetings Thinlits, Metallics Sequins Assortment, Gold Metallic Thread

So, I had to finish assembling these swaps in Salt Lake City and as I was getting ready to put on the finishing touches, I realized my sequins were missing.  Myself and all of my roommates looked high and low, but never did find them. So, sorry to all of my fellow swappers...your card was a little more naked than this :(

Ok, now it really is back to reality...time to work!  But work means money and money means new stamps from the Holiday Catalog!  Be sure to check back tomorrow for a little sneak peek :-)

Happy Stamping!

Shoebox Swappin' in SLC

Good morning from beautiful Salt Lake City!  I escaped the smoky skies of home (please pray for all of the firefighters working to put out the fire and for the families whose homes are at stake!) and had an uneventful flight where I met my SLC BFF Wendy.  Oh how I've missed her and was SO happy to spend the morning with her!  (And very grateful she ran me around so I didn't have to walk everywhere!)
Later in the afternoon, I met some of my roomies at the bus stop and the fun times began!  Kim, Donna and Cynthia were the first to arrive, closely followed by Heidi.  We chatted and crafted away the afternoon, then had a great dinner at Red Rock Brewery.  Kim and Donna waited up for Diana to arrive and now our house is complete!  I can't wait to get a run in with the girls this morning and explore downtown SLC!
Since we don't have much going on this morning, we are going to do a little shoebox swap this morning and this is what I brought for everyone to make.  I love the Silhouettes & Script {hostess} stamp set!
Supplies Used:
Paper ~ Whisper White, Everyday Chic DSP
Ink ~ Calypso Coral, Old Olive
Stamp Set ~ Silhouettes & Script
Other Supplies ~ Silver Metallic Thread, Silver Sequin Trim, Everyday Chic Washi Tape

Super simple card, but the washi and bits of silver dress it up!  Hope the girls love it as much as I do!

I'm also sharing the gifts I made for everyone staying in the house too...nothing fancy, but still fun!
The first is a little tiny bucket of jelly beans...because we need little sweet treats while we are stamping, right?!?!

The second part of their gift is a small journal that I embellished for them.  I thought this sentiment was perfect since we are all here doing what we love and what makes us happy!

I can't wait to see more of my stampin' friends as the week goes on!  This is always my favorite girls trip each year!  And we are going to have to make this year the best one yet since Convention will be changed up a bit after this year ;)

Happy Stampin' and see you soon!

Christmas in July

Merry 4th of July!!!  I think the heat is getting to me because I am already dreaming of a white Christmas.  Well, maybe not snow and cold, but I am OVER 110 degree weather!  I better get used to it though because we have a good 6-8 weeks more of this...summer heat is hitting us strong this year!
While I wait for the heat to pass, I will keep things cool in my craft room and start working on Christmas cards. My goal is to make at least one Christmas card each week between now and Christmas...wish me luck!  I'm starting things off with this adorable reindeer from Santa's Gifts.  The images in this stamp set are just begging to be colored, so I broke out my Aqua Painters and had some fun!
