Merry Monday

Hi friends...it's Monday again!  Not always my favorite day of the week, but if you look at it as a fresh start it doesn't sound so bad....right?!?!?  I hope you all had a great weekend!  I finally had a full weekend at home and spent a whole lot of time doing a whole lot of nothing :-)  There were a ton of things that I should have been doing, but snuggling with my boys and watching movies was way better than any of the things on my to-do list!  Some days you just have to let all of the other things go and just enjoy the moment.  I did sneak in a little stamping time though and have a pretty card to share with you this morning.  It's very similar to one I posted a few days ago, but I changed it up just a bit thanks to some inspiration from the Fab Friday sketch.

Supplies Used:
Paper ~ Old Olive, Cherry Cobbler, Whisper White, Gold Foil, Season of Style DSP
Ink ~ VersaMark
Stamp Set ~ Joyful Christmas
Other Supplies ~ Frosted Finishes Embellishments, Expressions Thinlits

Are you loving the gold as much as I am?  I really wasn't a big fan of gold, but I'm starting to have a change of heart and am seeing it in a whole new light.  I think I've gone through 2 packages of the gold foil paper and a whole container of gold embossing powder in the last month!

Hoping you all have a Merry Monday!

Happy Stamping!

Celebrating my Momma

Today we will celebrate my Momma's birthday...a few days late.  I'm making her favorite dish for dinner...lemon pasta...yum-O!  I will say that the cooler fall weather has inspired me to cook {and eat} more.  Does anyone else feel the need to cook/bake more in the fall and winter months?
Today I'm sharing with you the birthday card I made for my mom for her birthday.  If you saw my Christmas Star card last week for Stylin' Stampin' INKspiration, you'll see that I CASE'd myself.  But I hope you'll also see that you can use a stamp for more than one occasion too :-)
Supplies Used:

Paper ~ Basic Black, Real Red, Modern Medley DSP, Silver Foil Sheets, Very Vanilla
Ink ~ Real Red, VersaMark
Stamp Sets ~ Christmas Star Single Stamp, Four You, Gorgeous Grunge
Other Supplies ~ Simply Scored, Silver Embossing Powder, Rhinestone Basics

This card is perfect for my mom....the big Christmas Star remind me of the red Macy's star and my mom LOVES shopping there!  There's a good chance she may just get a Macy's gift card inside this card!!!

It's another windy and rainy day here today.  I'm headed up to get the house all cleaned so I can take full advantage of some nap time stamping today!

Happy Stamping!!!

A hunting he will go

Yep, it's that time of year again...hunting season!  The time of year where I become a hunter's widow and the discussions around the dinner table are all about hunting.  Between now and the end of the year I will see very little of my hubby on his days off...lets just hope he has a successful season and we have a freezer full of meat when it's all over :)
I always try to sneak a card into my hubby's pack on opening day and I was successful in doing so this morning (thanks to our new puppy for getting me up so super early!).  This was a quick card with not much detail, but I'm pretty sure the hubs will still like it!
Supplies Used:
Paper ~ Early Espresso, Pumpkin Pie, Naturals White
Ink ~ Pumpkin pie, Early Espresso, Baked Brown Sugar, Crumb Cake, Sahara Sand, Old Olive, Always Artichoke, Whisper White Craft
Stamp Sets ~ ABC-123 Sketched Alphabet, Remembering Christmas, Gorgeous Grunge
Other Supplies ~ Distressing Tool, Vintage Trinkets, Aqua Painter

I tried a new {to me} technique on the deer.  I stamped him in Whisper White Craft in then used my Aqua Painter to give him some color using some different shades of brown.  A fun technique and I really like how this big ol' buck turned out.  Here's to hoping my hubby gets a big ol' buck of his own today!  But considering that it is pouring rain right now, chances are slim.

Time to get a little more stamping done before the kiddos wake up!  And I'm really hoping I can sneak in a nap later today when my little one naps...this momma is gonna need one!

Happy Stamping!

On a Christmas Kick

Hi and Happy Friday!  I don't know about you but I am darn happy it's Friday!  We got a new puppy yesterday and she was sure to let us know that she missed her momma last night.  Poor sweet Roxy puppy cried a better part of the night...coffee is my friend today!  Thankfully she did finally settle down.  I feared she would wake up again when I left for my run, but I actually had to wake her up after I got home...good puppy!!!

I've been on a Christmas card kick lately and have been itching to break out my Joyful Christmas stamp set since Convention!  Ever since I saw this stamp in the holiday catalog I thought it would be beautiful embossed in gold...and I thought right!
This weeks sketch over at Freshly Made Sketches was perfect for this stamp set!
Isn't it gorgeous?!??!  I wasn't sure how the Frosted Finishes Embellishments would do with the heat gun, but they turned out great!  The perfect added touch for the center of the poinsettia.

Supplies Used:
Paper ~ Old Olive, Cherry Cobbler, Whisper White, Gold Foil, Season of Style DSP
Ink ~ VersaMark
Stamp Set ~ Joyful Christmas
Other Supplies ~ Frosted Finishes Embellishments

I already have plans for another card with this stamp set...you may just see it tomorrow ;-)

Happy Stamping!

Brothers Hanging Out ~ MDS

Happy Thursday friends!  I have a fun MDS page for you today...another to add to my ever growing 2013 Renwick Family Yearbook :-)  This weeks Simply My Digital Studio Facebook challenge was to create a layout using only ONE kit.   Sounds kind of hard right?  But if you really look at all of the awesome DSP, stamp brush sets and embellishments that come in a kit, you really CAN create a layout using just one kit.   I chose to use the Seriously Teen Kit for this layout...
My boys have a long way to go before they reach their "teens" but this kit really fits just about any age group, especially if you love a grungy style!  This is a really simple layout with a little Facebook inspiration for my journaling...I had fun with that!

Don't forget to check out all of the great new MDS Digital Downloads this week too!  Here is one that I love!

The Beastie Brats

Nope, I'm not talking about my kids!  I'm talking about these kids...
My aunt and my momma!
They look so sweet and cute, but don't let them fool you!  My grandma has some pretty funny stories of some of their shenanigans when they were younger.  (I can totally relate!)  They put my grandma to the test when they were little, as do my twins, and earned their name as the Beastie Brats :-)  Today I want to wish both of them a very Happy Birthday!
My grandma called me over the weekend and asked me if I would make them each a card as she is not able to get out as much as she used to.  I was more than happy to oblige!

Supplies Used:
Paper ~ Night of Navy, Naturals Ivory, Gold Foil
Ink ~ VersaMark, Old Olive, Crushed Curry, Island Indigo, Night of Navy
Stamp Sets ~ Fine Feathers, Remembering Your Birthday, Gorgeous Grunge
Other Supplies ~ Gold Embossing Powder, Burlap Ribbon, Crochet Trim, Antique Brads
As you can tell from the picture, they are not identical twins, but they are alike in many other ways.  I was going to make them totally different cards, but I liked the first one I made so much, I decided to make another one, but just a little bit different...just like my mom and my aunt.
My mom will most likely see this post before I get the card to her...so act surprised, ok Mom?  Happy Birthday to both of you!  I love you!

Happy Stamping!

Coffee...Thinking of You

Fall has finally made it's way here and it was CHILLY this morning!  I had one cup of coffee this morning and all I can think about is having another...trying to hold out for a bit longer so I don't have the crazy shakes the rest of the morning!  To help keep my mind off of MORE coffee, I turned to my craft room and worked on my card for my Stamp Club September Swaps.
I used the super fun new Circle Card Thinlits...LOVE it!  This the front of the card...
After a little break over the summer, a few of my stamping friends and myself are back to swapping cards each month.  We each take a turn creating or picking out a card sketch and color combo.  It's a lot of fun to see all the different takes on the sketch.  Once I get swaps from everyone else, I will post them with the sketch and color combo for the month :)

This is what is on the flip side of the circle. Cute, right?!?!?

Supplies Used:
Paper ~ Coastal Cabana, Strawberry Slush, Whisper White, 2013-2015 In Colors DSP Stack
Ink ~ Coastal Cabana, Sharpie
Stamp Set ~ Kind and Cozy

Obviously this card was inspired by my need for more coffee :-)  I've given in and am heading up to get another cup!

Happy Wednesday and Happy Stamping!

Amped Up Ampersands

Well, the day is almost over, but Happy Tuesday!  I had a busy day of appointments, meetings and a load of work that all had to be done before I got to play in MDS today.  BOO for work, but it's a necessary evil...especially when I want ALL of the new MDS Downloads every week :)  Be sure to check out this weeks downloads...Thanksgiving, Christmas and Ruffled Ribbons!
Today's page is made with the Amped Up Ampersands download that was released a few weeks ago.  Have you noticed all of the ampersands (&) these days?  They are everywhere and so much fun!  Leave it to Stampin' Up! to be right on with the current trends!
These are a couple of group pictures from Convention this past July.  Having the opportunity to meet all of these amazing ladies was one of the BEST parts of Convention for me!  The friendships that formed are priceless.  I can not wait for next year's Convention just to see all of my Stampin' friends again!

Thanks for stopping by today!

Love to SK8 ~ Stylin' Stampin' INKspiraiton September Scrapbook Sketch

Welcome to September's edition of the Stylin' Stampin' INKspiration scrapbook sketch. Jenn has another great sketch for us this week!

I rotated the sketch 90 degrees in order to fit the pictures I wanted to use...
Early this summer, my older boys saw these skateboards at a yard sale for $2 each and just HAD to have them.  Being a mom, I was a little nervous about them riding a skateboard, but I told them that if they wanted to use the money they had earned, then they could buy them.  As soon as they got home, they put on their helmets and off they went.  They had some good falls, a few tears and, yes, even one lost finger nail while they learned, but all in all they have done really well and LOVE to skate!  We've visited a few different skateboard shops since they bought these and they have drooled over new boards and are saving every penny they earn to buy a new one!  Santa may just have to help them out this year too ;)
This page will be added to our family yearbook that I have been working on in MDS.  I love that I can take just a few minutes each week and create a page and add it right to the book.  By the end of the year, I will have a full book of memories!  I love traditional scrapbooking, but let's be honest...I just don't have the time to sit down and scrap a whole years worth of photos.  This is one of the MANY reasons why I LOVE MDS!   Don't forget you can always try it for FREE for 30 days!!!

Now head on over to SSINK and see what all of the other "scrappy" Design Team Members have to share with you this month.  And don't forget...you can play along with us!  Create a page of your own using this months sketch and link it up for all of us to see!

Happy Stamping....Scrapping...MDSing!

Fab and Fresh Fall Friday

While we have yet to have fall like weather here, it is Friday and that is fabulous!!!  Even though it's still been pretty darn hot here, I'm still in fall mode in so many ways...cooking, coffee, clothes and cards!
With my pumpkin spice coffee in hand, I have a fall card to share with you this morning.  My inspiration for today's card came from the fresh and clean sketch at Freshly Made Sketches and the yummy fall colors from Fab Friday.
Supplies Used:
Paper ~ Chocolate Chip, Very Vanilla, Sweater Weather DSP, Champagne Glimmer Paper
Ink ~ Chocolate Chip, Soft Suede, Tangerine Tango, VersaMark
Stamp Set ~ Four You, Gorgeous Grunge
Other Supplies ~ Autumn Accents, Neutrals Buttons, Linen Thread, Gold Embossing Powder

I sponged the leaves and crumpled them up to give them a bit of texture...I have such a hard time with a "flat" card sometimes!  Anyone else have that problem?

This card will also be submitted in this weeks  Friday Mashup Challenge...Thinking of You.  October is National Pregnancy and Infant Loss Awareness and FMU is giving this month great honor.  This card was made for my dear friend who just lost her unborn grandson.  My heart aches for her daughter and all of their family.  I know all too well what it feels like to lose a baby during pregnancy...I hope my card brings a little comfort and peace to my friend and her family.  I will also be creating another card to send to Heidi to send to her local HANDS charity.  Hugs to any of you who may have suffered the loss of a pregnancy or baby...

Happy Friday and Happy Stamping!

Stylin' Stampin' Squad Blog Hop ~ Favorite Tools

Thank you so much for joining us for the September Stylin’  Stampin’ Squad Blog Hop! This month we are focusing on the tools of the stampin’ trade. Specifically, each of our favorite stamping tools. It’s amazing the kinds of tools that have been created to help us along in our paper-crafting addictions.  This month’s blog hop will showcase many of the Stampin’ Up! tools that are now available to us in the 2013-2014 Stampin’ Up! Idea Book and Holiday Catalog and even a couple of products that are so new they aren’t in either catalog. We hope you enjoy seeing how we use the old and new tools and are inspired to come up with some great projects of your own.
One of my favorite, and frequently used, tools is the Simply Scored Scoring Tool.
Not only do I use this tool to score all of my card bases, but I love to use it to add simple score lines to a card.  It's always amazing how one or two little lines can add so much to a card!  I have an example of one for you today.  I felt like the white portion of this card was a little too boring and flat, but then I added a couple score lines and voila!
I also use the Simply Scored Scoring Tool to create fun little boxes, such as this one:
Having all of the measurements on the top and left hand side of the board makes for easy measuring for the perfect box.  The Simply Scored Diagonal and Boards Plate are great tools too!  These plates lay right on top of your Simply Scored, using the same measurements...how great is that!

Supplies Used:
Paper ~ Coastal Cabana, Summer Starfruit, Whisper White, Eastern Elegance DSP
Ink ~ Coastal Cabana, Summer Starfruit
Stamp Sets ~ Beautifully Baroque, Express Yourself, Mosaic Madness
Other Supplies ~ Mosaic Punch, Rhinestones, Coastal Cabana Ruffle Stretch Ribbon, Summer Starfruit Stitched Satin Ribbon, Scallop Circle Punches, Antique Brads, Whisper White Embossing Powder, Little Leaves Sizzlits, Simply Scored Scoring Tool

Don't forget to visit Stylin' Stampin' INKspiration where we love to INKspire you 5 days a week, 52 weeks a year!

Unforgettable day...

I have a fun MDS page to share with you today of an unforgettable day my husband and I got to spend with our twin boys at a Mariner's baseball game last weekend.  But first I want to take a moment for another unforgettable day that took place 12 years ago today...

While I did not lose any loved ones on this horribly tragic day, my heart still aches for those who did.  But with the heartache also comes pride for those who risked their lives that day to save so many others.  9/11 is certainly a day that I will never forget...

So, as I said earlier, I do have a fun page from our weekend in Seattle.  My hubby won tickets to a Mariner's game for selling the most tickets for his Battle of the Badges game in June.  The seats we had were AWESOME!  Right above the Mariner's dugout on the first base line...doesn't get any better!  Not only were our tickets free, but all of the stadium food was free too!  A & H were in heaven as they at their way through the ball park!  The boys love baseball and really followed the Mariner's this year and were so excited to see some of their favorite players up close.  They were even more excited when Kendrys Morales tossed not one, but TWO, game balls up to them.  The smile on their face was beyond priceless!  And at the end of the game they got one more ball that they proudly brought home for their little brother.  This was a family day that we will never forget!

In addition to my cute boys, my favorite part about this page is the baseball soaring across the page.

I love how quickly and easily I can add a page to my ever growing 2013 Renwick Yearbook!  I can't wait to print it off at the end of the year!  Don't forget you can try MDS FREE for 30 days...click  HERE for more details or contact me today!

Happy Stamping!
