Bombs Away Birthday

Hello to all my stampin' friends and happy Saturday!  I hope your {long} weekend is off to a great start...I know mine is!  We just got home from our annual Walla Walla Fair and Frontier Days Parade...so much fun!  We may be avoiding the fair this year, but we can't miss the parade :-)  The kiddos are resting now and then we're off to the pool for one last swim day for the summer.  Back to school on Tuesday...I say YIPPEE, my boys say BOO!!!

I'm taking advantage of rest time and getting my September Club cards all ready.  I'm focusing on the fun photopolymer stamps this month and love the Bombs Away Birthday set...the sentiments are so sassy and fun!  I used this weeks sketch over at Freshly Made Sketches to get me started.
Supplies Used:
Paper ~ Smoky Slate, Bermuda Bay, Whisper White
Ink ~ Smoky Slate, Bermuda Bay, Basic Black
Stamp Set ~ Bombs Away Birthday, Tape It, Positively Chevron
Other Supplies ~ Witches Brew Washi Tape

I sponged my Positively Chevron stamp with the different inks and I love how it turned out!  And this Washi Tape...I've gone through two whole rolls of the skull and cross bones already :-)

Hoping all my Stamp Club members have as much fun creating this card as I did!

As much as I'd like to spend a few more hours in my craft room, I've gotta get all of our swim stuff and snacks packed up so we can hit the pool ASAP!

Wishing you all a great Labor Day weekend!!

Happy Stamping!

Aaarrgghh! Happy Birthday Matey! ~ Stylin' Stampin' MDS

It's MDS Day over at Stylin' Stampin' INKspiration!  I hope you've checked out what some of the other very talented Design Team members have to share with you today!

Before I get to my MDS design, I have to share with you the inspiration behind my MDS card...

A few weeks ago a good friend of mine asked me to make a birthday banner for her son's upcoming Pirate themed birthday and I was happy to oblige!  I was in a rush to get it mailed off so it would make it in time for the big party, so forgive me for a picture that is not-so-great.
Supplies Used:
Paper ~ Modern Medley DSP, Whisper White, Season of Style DSP
Ink ~ Basic Black
Other Supplies ~ Halloween Banner Simply Create Accessory Kit

So, of course I wanted to send a birthday card along with the banner, but I don't have any pirate related stamps...MDS to the rescue!!!  Some of your Design Team Members over at I LOVE MDS for this very reason.  Don't have a stamp on hand?  No worries, check MDS and download what you need with just a few clicks of your mouse :-)
This is the front of the card...
and this is the inside...

I used the Ahoy Matey Download for this card...so much fun!!!!

Haven't tried MDS yet?!?!  Don't forget, you can try it for FREE for 30 days.  But trust me, you won't need 30 days to figure out that you LOVE it...you will after you design your first project!

Be sure to head over to Stylin' Stampin' INKspiration for some more INSpiraiton to CREATE!

Happy Stamping!

It's that time of year again...the most wonderful time of the year...Back to School!  Don't get me wrong...I love my kiddos and love having them home with me, but by the end of summer I am always ready to get back into a more structured routine.
Today over at Stylin' Stampin' INKspiration, I'm up with an individual post.  I wanted to do a fun gift box and card for each of my boys to give to their teachers tonight at their meet and greet.  I made this cute box using the Deco Label framelits and filled it full of little things to help any teacher survive the first few crazy days of the new school year.
And you have to have a fun Back to School card for the teachers too, right?!?!?  With some inspiration from The Friday Mashup challenge, I have a cute card to match!  The Mashup this week is to create a school themed project using this sketch.
Supplies Used:
Paper ~ Pool Party, Very Vanilla, This and That Epic Day DSP
Ink ~ Calypso Coral, Gumball Green, Pool Party, VersaMark

LuvBug for Kerri

Hello Stampin' Friends and Happy Thursday!  Today is my day off and I have high hopes of crossing a few projects off of my crafting To-Do list...this list seems to be growing at a rapid rate and I LOVE it!  I plan to take full advantage of nap time and bed time today.
A few weeks ago I made a cute pink polka dot "slug bug" card for a Friday Mashup Challenge and when my friend Kerri saw it, she asked me to make her a card to match her green LuvBug.  I had a lot of fun making the first card and was happy to make a second one.  I checked out a few of my favorite challenge blogs for a little inspiration and loved the color challenge over at Hand Stamped Sentiments.
Pear Pizzazz is a perfect match to Kerri's bug and the Crushed Curry and Early Espresso reminded me of all the sunflowers that are in bloom right now.  So, there you have it...my inspiration for this card :-)  Not only is Kerri a good friend, she is also my co-worker who helped cover my duties while I was on vacation, so I owe her a HUGE thank you!
Supplies Used:
Paper ~ Pear Pizzazz, Early Espresso, Crushed Curry, Brushed Silver, Whisper White, Basic Black
Ink ~ Pear Pizzazz, Crushed Curry

Other Supplies ~ Build a Banner Stencils, Boho Blossoms Punch, Artisan Label Punch, 1" Square Punch, Large Oval Punch, Extra Large Oval Punch, 1/2" Circle Punch, Itty Bitty Shapes Punch, Modern Label Punch, Word Window Punch, Neutrals Brads

The kiddos and I are off to go have some breakfast at our favorite coffee shop this morning and then we'll hand deliver this card to {Auntie} Kerri and visit with her new puppy Wiffle :-)

Big Buck Birthday and Beach Bum Summer

Happy Tuesday and Happy Birthday to my hubby!!!

Summer is winding down and school will be starting back up two weeks from today.  And with the end of summer comes the beginning of hunting season.  Hunting season to my hubby is like Christmas morning to a child.  It's all he can think about...and it's starting to rub off on our boys and they all drive me a bit crazy with all of their hunting talk.  But weekend hunts for the boys means weekend stamping for the momma :-)

When I saw the Remembering Christmas stamp set in the Holiday Catalog, the first thing I thought was "my husband is going to love this stamp!".  With a little Gorgeous Grunge camo, this Big Buck made for the perfect birthday card!
Supplies Used:
Paper ~ Early Espresso, Very Vanilla, Early Espresso Core'dinations
Ink ~ Early Espresso, Baked Brown Sugar, Crumb Cake, Soft Suede, Old Olive, Always Artichoke
Stamp Sets ~ Remembering Christmas, Gorgeous Grunge
Other Supplies ~ Deco Labels Framelits, Label Card Thinlits (banner), Woodgrain Embossing Folder, Linen Thread
I couldn't find a  birthday sentiment stamp to fit in the little banner, so I pulled up MDS and made my own...LOVE that about MDS!

Speaking of MDS...it's Download Tuesday!  Check out this weeks NEW Downloads here.  I have been playing around in MDS a lot more lately and I really do love it!  Don't forget, you can try it for FREE for 30 days!  I have a scrapbook page to share with you today too.  This weeks Simply My Digital Studio Challenge (Facebook) is to create a page with our end of summer pictures.  Being that we just got home from our annual end of summer beach trip, I had some perfect pictures to share...take a peek!
We had an awesome summer vacation this year!  I hope you have all had a great summer too!

Monday INKspiration

Happy Monday friends!  I'm back to my normal daily grind after 12 amazing days off.  I'm really hoping Monday treats me kindly!
Today over at Stylin' Stampin' INKspiraiton we have a scrapbook sketch for you.

At the beginning of June, my husband played in the Battle of the Badges baseball game...Fire Department vs Police Department.  All of the proceeds went to local charities and it was a super fun game!  My hubby's team (FD) lost, but everyone had a great time!  I decided since tomorrow is his birthday, I would use some of the game pics to create a fun page for him.

Again, I used a photo for my background paper...I doing this!

Ok, time to get all caught up on work....big time bummer having to go back to work after that many days off.  Thank goodness I have awesome co-workers who do an amazing job covering for me!

Happy Stamping!

Today I have my last scrapbook page to share with you.  This was my hybrid page (MDS and traditional elements) and while it is very simple, it is the page that has the most meaning to me.  This page focuses on my love for running, something I actually used to hate!  This picture is from my 3rd half marathon, which I did in my home town.  This race meant the most to me because my family was there waiting for me at the finish line!  I used the same picture as the background paper...one of my favorite things to do in MDS!

2013 Artisan Finalist Blog Hop ~ Day 6

Hello to all my stamping friends and welcome to Day Six of the Artisan Finalist Blog Hop!  We're on the downhill slide of our hop...I hope you are all loving the amazing creations!  For the next 3 days you will get to see the talent from an amazing group of Artisan Finalists.  It has been so much fun seeing all of the details of each project up close...so much better than trying to see them in between 6000+ other people :-)

Today I have my second 3-D project to share with you.  This was my down-to-the-wire, what-in-the-world-am-I-going-to-do project.  I had just made some onesie cupcakes for a friends baby shower and that's when the idea for this fun little cupcake box popped into my head.

I tore one of the Kraft Boxes apart and used the Window Frame Framelits to cut a window out in the front and top of the box.  (The box went back together easily with some sticky strip)  After stamping the entire box with the Distress Dots, I adhered a piece of Window Sheet to each opening.  You really can't see it in the picture, but I also created a little holder inside the box. I used the Window Frame Framelit again, creating a little spot for the cupcake to sit in and not fall over.  I used the cut out portion of the Kraft Box as my tag.

Here is the little cupcake that was in the inside.

Supplies Used:
Paper ~ Subtles DSP Stack, Whisper White, Pink Pirouette, Window Sheet
Ink ~ Whisper White Craft Ink, Pink Pirouette
Stamp Sets ~ Distressed Dots, Tiny Tags, Baby Boutique
Other Supplies ~Kraft Box, Designer Rosette Bigz, Jewelry Tag Punch, Boho Blossoms Punch, Whisper White Taffeta Ribbon, Two Tone Ribbon, Whisper White Bakers Twine

Now it's time to hop on over to Cathy's blog to see her first FAB-ulous creation!
