Morning Meadow Monday

Monday again...why does it have to show up so quickly?!?!  Especially when I have so many new stamping goodies that need to be tested!  But, I shouldn't complain...I got in quite a bit of stamping time this weekend (and a lot less sleep than normal), so all is good!

As part of our pre-order, we (demo's) got to choose two Hostess stamp sets and I one that I chose, which was not easy, was Morning Meadow.  All of the Hostess sets in the new catalog are all GREAT, so it was hard to pick just two.  You can bet the other sets will find their way in to my stamp collection over the next few months.

This stamp set made for a pretty card using the latest sketch from Fab Friday...

Supplies Used:
Paper ~ Night of Navy, Daffodil Delight, Whisper White, Gingham Garden DSP
Ink ~ Pear Pizazz, Daffodil Delight, Melon Mambo, Island Indigo, Night of Navy
Stamp Set ~ Morning Meadow
Other Supplies ~ Stripes Embossing Folder, Denim Ribbon, Simply Pressed Clay, Buttons & Blossoms Simply Pressed Clay Molds

Do you spy those cute little roses?!?!  They were made using the new Simply Pressed Clay and Clay Molds!  I'll admit, it took me a bit to figure out the tricks to popping the clay out of the molds, but once I did, they are super easy and so cute!
You can use your re-inker to color the clay ANY COLOR you want...so much fun!
And according to my 21 month old son, they are pretty enough to eat!  Good thing the clay is non-toxic and I caught him just as he took a bite!

Be watching for a few more sneak peeks...

Happy Stamping!

Sun Shiny Sunday

Happy Sunday!!!  It's looking kind of cloudy here today, so I'm not sure how much sunshine we will see, but this card will bring the sunshine to you no matter what!

This weeks "Sunshine" challenge over at The Friday Mashup had me setting aside my new pre-order items (GASP!!!) and pulling out one of my all time favorite single stamps...Sunshine!  And I would like to give a BIG thank you to Lisa for choosing me as a Mashup Glamette last week...what an awesome surprise!

Supplies Used:
Paper ~ Real Red, Tangerine Tango, Pumpkin Pie, Daffodil Delight, So Saffron, Old Olive, Always Artichoke, Bashful Blue, Temping Turquoise, Rich Razzleberry, Perfect Plumb, Pretty in Pink, Melon Mambo, Basic Black, Whisper White
Ink ~ Whisper White Craft, Daffodil Delight
Stamp ~ Sunshine
Other Supplies ~ Owl Punch, Cupcake Punch, Soda Pop Tops, Crystal Effects, 1 3/8" Circle Punch, 1/2" Circle Punch, Real Red Bakers Twine (Sent with Love Bundle)

I used the chalk board technique on this card...love it with all the bright colors behind it!  I had a lot of fun making this card and love how cheerful it is!  I think I may have to keep this up on my shelf for a while as a daily pick me up...at least until summer is here and we have sunshine every day :)

I hope you are having a Sun Shiny Sunday!!

Happy Stamping!!!

The Man in Brown paid me a visit yesterday, bringing me a box full of NEW  {pre-order} Stampin' Up! product...Best.Day.All.Week!

I could not wait to get all of my goodies unpackaged and put away in their new homes.  With the help of Aidan (my craft-loving son), we got all of my inks and paper organized.  I managed to stamp one card last night before my bed called my name, but I was up early this morning and headed to my craft room as soon as my workout was done.

I decided to have a little fun with the new Mosaic Madness bundle I got in my pre-order.  With some inspiration from the latest Hand Stamped Sentiments sketch...
I made this bright and cheerful card...

I pulled out another of my soon-to-be retired favorites and made a cute card using this weeks Try Stampin' on Tuesday sketch.

I'm sad that you really can't see the score marks in each corner of the card...it looks kind of blah in this picture.  Sorry!

Ink ~ JetBlack StazOn, Tangerine Tango, Wisteria Wonder, Lucky Limeade*

Wishing you all a wonderful weekend!

Just Believe...

I'm making an effort to get one last card made using each of my soon to be retired stamp sets, and Just Believe is one of my favorites!  This weeks sketch from Allisa over at Freshly Made Sketches is a perfect fit for this stamp set.
Supplies Used:
Paper ~ Sahara Sand, Very Vanilla, Basic Black
Ink ~ Jet Black StazOn
Stamp Sets ~ Just Believe Papillion Potpourri

Cuatro Mariposas

Made it through Monday and almost through Tuesday...just a few more hours and we'll all have our hands on the Stampin' Up! retired list and new annual catalog!  I feel like a little girl waiting for Christmas morning!  I know there are some who are staying up late (or setting an alarm for an early morning hour) to view the new catty...I love the excitement!  I won't be getting up in the middle of the night and I promised myself I would get up and go for a run before I get lost in the new catalog and placing my order.  I'm guessing this will make me run faster, which is an added bonus :)

I had a little extra time during my lunch hour today and created this cute card based off of this weeks Mojo Monday sketch.
I like really like the squares in this sketch and had a little fun with my punches.  And guess what?!?!  No stamps were used on this card...punches only! It's always fun to do something a little different.
Supplies Used:
Paper ~ Primrose Petals, Raspberry Ripple, Summer Starfruit, Pretty in Pink, Print Poetry DSP
Other Supplies ~ Scallop Square Punch, 1 3/8" Square Punch, Bitty Butterfly Punch, Summer Starfruit Stitched Satin Ribbon, Delicate Designs Embossing Folder, Pearl Basics, Large Pearl Basics

I didn't capture it well in this picture, but the Summer Starfruit butterfly is punched out and popped up a bit while the other butterflies are the negative punch placed over a colored square of paper.

The cheerful, bright colors of this DSP make me think of spring...which I think is finally making an appearance here!

Be sure to check back tomorrow for the list of retiring Stampin' Up! products...and snatch them up while you can!  They'll go FAST!

Happy Stamping!

Sending Birthday Wishes...

...to a fellow Stampin' Up! demo and my roomie-to-be at Convention!!!
After hearing just how great last year's Stampin' Up! Convention was and experiencing the fun at the Tacoma Regional last October, I just knew I had to go to Convention this year.  None of my downline are able to go to Convention with me, so I'm going solo.  I booked a room shortly after I decided to attend with hopes of finding a roommate. A few months ago, someone had posted that their friend was not able to attend Convention with them and was looking for a roommate.  After a little thought, I sent her a message and told her I was interested in rooming with her.  Long story short, we've been chatting for the past few months and I can't not wait to meet her in person and share the experience of Convention with someone who loves stamping as much as I do!

Today Cynthia is celebrating her birthday and I made this card and cute little Dress Up Framelit box just for her!  I can not take credit for the box...I saw it on Pinterest and had to re-create it.  You can find the tutorial for it here.

Baja Breeze will soon be retired, which makes me a little sad...but there are some great NEW colors coming out!!!  Cynthia was in need of a Baja Breeze re-inker, but they had already sold out.  In my own little sneaky way, I made sure she still hadn't been able to get her hands on one and sent one of my extras her way :)  Happy Birthday Friend!

Supplies Used:
Paper ~ Baja Breeze, Midnight Muse, Crumb Cake, Very Vanilla
Ink ~ Baja Breese, Midnight Muse, Certainly Celery, Old Olive, Crumb Cake
Stamp Sets ~ Stippled Blossoms, En Francais
Other Supplies ~ All Dressed Up Framelits, Card Base Pop 'n Cuts, Oval Collection Framelits, Lacy Brocade Embossing Folder

 Supplies Used:
Paper ~ Baja Breeze, Twitterpated DSP
Ink ~ Baja Breeze
Other Supplies ~ Midnight Muse Stitched Satin Ribbon, Flower Trim, All Dressed Up Framelits
The tutorial for this cute little Dress Up box is to hold a tube of chap stick...I altered mine a little so it would hold the re-inker.

Wishing Cynthia a very Happy Birthday and I can't wait to celebrate with her in July!!!

Happy Stamping!

Stippled Blossoms for Mom

It's hard to believe Mother's Days is just a month away!  Hopefully this means some warmer weather will soon be on its way as well.

I visited Try Stampin' on Tuesday for a sketch idea and I really like this weeks sketch.  It's a simple sketch that you can either keep as such or really dress it up!

I chose to keep mine kind of simple...
Supplies Used:
Paper ~ Certainly Celery, Whisper White, Twitterpated DSP
Ink ~ Riding Hood Red, Blushing Bride (retired color), Wild Wasabi, Certainly Celery
Stamp Sets ~ Stippled Blossoms, Wonderful Mother
Other Supplies ~ 2 1/2" Circle Punch, Perfect Pennants Bigz

I have to say that Stippled Blossoms is one of my favorite flower sets...so easy to use and so pretty!

Off to enjoy a movie and pizza night with my boys!

Happy Stamping!!

Oh Baby, It's Friday!

Hi friends!  I don't know about you, but I am so happy Friday has finally made it! This week has taken it's tole on me...emotionally, mentally and physically.  The Boston Marathon tragedy has left me with a sad heart and the inability to wrap my head around why people feel the need to commit such horrible, awful, senseless acts.  But rather than sit back in fear of what is going on in our world, I put all of my energy into my running and continued training for my upcoming 1/2 marathon...running is my release and I refuse to let anyone take that away from me :)

I did get some good news from a fellow running buddy the other day...she's going to have another baby!  I am so, so, so excited for her as this has been a long journey for her.  And since I just got the super cute Oh, Baby single stamp, I had the perfect reason to use it.

While my friend is not yet sure what she is having, her favorite color is purple and the color pick this week over at Friday Mashup is just right for this card!  Not sure that the little flower would go through the mail very well, but I will see Miss Ginny on Sunday and hand deliver this card to her :)

Supplies Used:
Paper ~ Sahara Sand, Perfect Plum, Whisper White, 2011-2013 In-Color DSP (Wisteria Wonder)
Ink ~ Perfect Plum, Wisteria Wonder, Whisper White Craft
Stamp ~ Distressed Dots, Oh, Baby
Other Supplies ~ Boho Blossoms Punch, Neutrals Brads

I also used the latest sketch challenge from Chic Challenges...love the sketches they are bringing to us!

Here's to a great weekend to all...a chance to re-charge our mind and body and to spend time with those that we love most!

Happy Stamping!

April Club Swaps

I'm back with this month's club card swap and they are all awesome!!!
Erica chose this month's sketch...an old one from Mojo Monday!  And the color combo is beautiful!  It was fun to see how everyone interpreted the colors...

And here they are in no particular order...

Katie ~ Sweet n Spiffy

Erica

Amanda

Nancy

Melissa ~ CrazyPaperFreak

Bree ~ Craft-somnia Momma

Aren't these all so beautiful?!?!

Melissa just gave us the sketch and color combo for May...can't wait to get my supplies out and get creative!

Sending Love to Boston

Yesterday's horrific tragedy in Boston has left me with a heavy heart and the inability to wrap my mind around how someone is able to commit such a senseless act.  As an avid and passionate runner, my heart aches for all of those runners who will have to endure the ever lasting sense of fear when they lace up their shoes.  I am saddened that we live in a world where we do have so much to fear and I pray that they are able to find peace and comfort and get past this awful day in their life.
As I took off on my run this morning with tears in my eyes and TobyMac radio streaming, the lyrics of a Mercy Me song really struck home...

When life won't play along
And right keeps going wrong
And I can't seem to find my way
I know where I am found
So I won't let it drag me down
Oh, I'll keep dancing anyway...

These lyrics made me realize that we can not live in constant fear...we just need to move forward and keep on believing.

Having a little bit of time this morning before I had to get my boys up and ready for school, I was able to make a card in honor of all of the Boston Marathon runners as well as all the spectators.  Sending them all my love...

Supplies Used:
Paper ~ Sent with Love DSP, Calypso Coral, Pool Party
Other Supplies ~ 2 3/8" Scallop Circle Punch, 1 3/4" Circle Punch, Owl Punch, Pool Party Ruffled Ribbon, Calypso Coral Bakers Twine

Did you notice there are no stamps used on this card?  The cute images were simply cut out from one of the sheets of DSP...fun!  You still have a few more days to grab this fun bundle!!!

My thoughts and prayers continue to go out to all involved in yesterday's awful event, especially for those who lost loved ones or sustained injuries.  I pray that all of those runners are still able to celebrate their successful accomplishment of the race and dig deep to keep their joy of running alive!

Happy Running and Happy Stamping!

Whirl{WIND} kind of day

It's not even 6:00PM and I am ready for bed!  Started my day off with an early morning, and very WINDY, run, finished up some projects I had started last night, went to watch my twins baseball game in the freezing cold WIND, came home and took advantage of the little mans nap time and made a couple cards...then me and my hubby took off for a little afternoon get away to the Tri-Cities while my momma stayed with the kiddos.  We had a nice lunch at Twigs, did a little shopping and just caught up on our lives without the interruptions from 3 little boys ;)  It's been a fun, busy and, did I mention, WINDY day!  My mom was kind enough to keep the boys for a few more hours so my hubby and I can enjoy a nice dinner out tonight to celebrate our anniversary since it was not possible earlier this week.  Two meals with just the two of us...that never happens!  Thanks Mom!
Before we head out, I took some time to clean up my craft space and took pictures of some of my creations from earlier today.  This one was inspired by the current color challenge over at Fab Friday.  I love these colors!
My Crumb Cake card stock has been feeling a little neglected lately...Sahara Sand took over for awhile.  And I love me some white craft ink on Crumb Cake, so that is how my card stared.  Add some fun DSP and a super cute stamp and...voila!

Supplies Used:
Paper ~ Crumb Cake, Whisper White, Calypso Coral, Pool Party, Patio Party DSP
Ink ~ Pool Party, Calypso Coral, Summer Starfruit, Whisper White Craft
Stamp Sets ~ Make a Cake, Paper Pumpkin (Jots and Thoughts Try It Kit), Itty Bitties, Sweet Essentials
Other Supplies ~ Calypso Coral Bakers Twine

I stamped a row of the cute little butterflies from the Make a Cake set inside the card and added a few single butterflies (Itty Bitties) in the white polka dots on the DSP.  Quick and easy card and cute to boot!

My rest time is over...time to get ready for a date with my hubby!  I told him I feel like an old married couple going to dinner so early...I'm sure we'll be home before 8 and in bed by 9.  Either we're getting old or we are just too darn busy to stay out late anymore!

Happy Stamping!

Crafting Crisis Averted

Ok, I have a story to share with you about this card.  Stick with me...I may get a little wordy!  I get up early (ok, super early) almost every morning to get my workout in before I take on the rest of my day.  Before I head out the door, I always check in with my favorite challenge sites to see what fun they have for us week after week.  I do this so I have something to think about while I work out...I know, I have issues!  It's Friday, so that means it is time for another challenge at one of my favorite Friday challenge sites...The Friday MashupBefore I started my workout this morning, I checked in and found that Erica had an awesome sketch for us this week along with a "Mash Up" birthday project.  So, off I went to work out with this sketch and project in my head and the crafting wheels were turning.  I decided I wanted to use the cute little birthday cake from the Embellished Events stamp set, after seeing it in the latest Stampin' Success magazine :)  Having a bit of time left after my shower and before I had to get my boys up, I went to get started on my card.  Only to discover that my stamp set was missing.  Now, I've lost a stamp here and there (thanks to a toddler who likes to get into EVERYTHING), but have NEVER lost an entire set.  Who does that?  I literally tore apart my stamp storage in search of this set, numerous times.  I finally sent a text to my BFF and stamping partner in crime to see if she by chance had borrowed it from me and guess what?  She had it!  Neither one of us really remember when I gave it to her or why, but I was so happy to find it and discover that I wasn't really losing my mind! After my staff meeting, I quickly ran over to her house to get the set so I could put my idea to work.  I managed to sneak in a little stamp time during lunch and made this cute card:
Supplies Used:
Paper ~ Lucky Limeade, Whisper White, Rich Razzleberry, Baja Breeze, Floral District DSP
Ink ~ Tangerine Tango, Baja Breeze, Lucky Limeade, Rich Razzleberry
Stamp Sets ~ Embellished Events, Paper Pumpkin (Jots and Thoughts Try It Kit)
Other Supplies ~ Adorning Accents Edgelits, Lucky Limeade Bakers Twine

I forgot how much I love this stamp set and this DSP!  Sad to see it go, along with Baja Breeze, but so excited to get my hands on the new stuff that is soon to come!

Thanks for sticking with me through my crazy story!  I've been laughing at myself all day over how worked up I was this morning while searching for it.  And the added bonus? I organized all of my stamps and pulled out some already retired sets that I'm going to sell.  All's well that ends well!

Happy Stamping!

Paper Pumpkin Re-Created

I loved the paper that came in the first months Paper Pumpkin kit...the ombre paper is awesome and I knew I would have to try to re-create my own version.  With the latest color challenge over at Hand Stamped Sentiments, I decided it was time to see what I could do to create my own ombre paper.
Here's a look at the cheerful colors:
And here is my re-creation of the fun paper using the Distressed Dots stamp:
Supplies Used:
Paper ~ Island Indigo, Whisper White, This and That Epic Day DSP
Ink ~ Daffodil Delight, Island Indigo, Lucky Limeade
Stamp Set ~ Paper Pumpkin (March Kit), A Round Array
Other Supplies ~ 1 1/4" & 7/8" Scallop Circle Punch, Basic Rhinestones, Butterfly Sticker (Paper Pumpkin Try It Kit), Island Indigo Bakers Twine

To create the ombre paper, I stamped my Distressed Dots stamp in Lucky Limeade.  Then I took a scrap sheet of paper, placed it over the bottom half of the stamp to stamp off some color.  I moved the scrap paper down a few more inches and stamped off again...voila!  Ombre effect!  I LOVE the stamps that came in the March Paper Pumpkin and have used them a TON (along with This and That Epic Day DSP...sorry!).  It's a good thing the next Paper Pumpkin will soon be delivered and I'll have something new to play with ;)

So, who hasn't subscribed to Paper Pumpkin yet?  YOU?!?!  Do you know you are missing out on a cute little box full of stamping goodness that is delivered to your doorstep each and every month?!? Visit My Paper Pumpkin and have your Fairy Craft Mother knocking at your door in no time!  (Don't forget to list me as your demo!)

Epic Anniversary, Dude!

My husband and I are celebrating our 9th anniversary today...how have the past 9 years gone by so fast!  It seems like we just bought our first house a couple years ago and now here we are with 3 kids and living in our second home...crazy!
I got the Dude, You're Welcome stamp set awhile back, but haven't had the chance to use it.  But when I got the This and That bundle with the Epic Day DSP, I knew I would use it to make my hubby an anniversary card.  He's not a lovey-dovey kind of guy, so this card is perfect for him!

This is the front of the card...
I snipped out a few of the hexagon shapes from the DSP for a little added color.  And the teeny, tiny little heart inside the cute clip was punched out using the Owl Punch.
And here is the inside...

The two circles on the DSP reminded me of wedding bands...perfect!

Supplies Used:
Paper ~ Crumb Cake, Whisper White, This and That Epic Day DSP
Ink ~ Crumb Cake, Pool Party, Gumball Green
Stamp Sets ~ Dude, You're Welcome, A Word for You, Paper Pumpkin (March Kit), Designer Type Photopolymer
Other Supplies ~ Elements Cute Clips, Owl Punch

If you've seem my past few posts, I've been using the DSP a TON.  LOVE it!!!  I'm currently working on a scrapbook page using the This and That items and it is AWESOME!  But, you'll have to wait to see it...it's for a special project!

My hubby has to teach tonight, so we won't be doing anything fun to celebrate our anniversary, but we hope to squeeze something in this weekend!

Happy Stamping!

Unwinding....

....with a little time in my craft room.  Baseball season is in full swing and the craziness my family schedule is just that...crazy!  I spent over an hour yesterday updating and color coordinating our family calendar for the next two months and all I can say is, WOW!  One of us has something going on almost every single day and/or night.  We will all be ready for summer break this year, that's for sure.  I should be folding laundry or mopping floors, but I decided some stamping time was a much better choice :)
I have really enjoyed the last few sketches from Mojo Monday and this week is no exception.
And as you see, I'm still obsessed with the This and That Epic Day DSP...sorry if you are sick of seeing it, but be prepared to see a bit more. The possibilities are endless with this paper!  And the Washi Tape....LOVE!

Supplies Used:
Paper ~ Crumb Cake, Pool Party, Whisper White, This and That Epic Day
Ink ~ Basic Gray, Gumball Green, Calypso Coral
Stamp Sets ~ Paper Pumpkin (March kit), Friendly Phrases
Other Supplies ~ Epic Day This and That Washi Tape, Apothecary Accents Framelits, Fancy Flower Punch, 3/4" Circle Punch, In-Color Dahlias, Corner Punch

Sigh...I'm feeling the stress of the day slowly leaving...always a good thing.  Going to spend a bit more time working on some projects before I call it a night.

Happy Stamping!

Oh, Hello Monday!

I was so excited to see a sketch new challenge over at Chic Challenges!  This is the very first sketch and I love it!  Be sure to check back every two weeks for a new sketch and play along with everyone else.
Chic Challenges CC-01
I had some fun with the colors I chose for this sketch.  I don't usually tend to use so much color when it comes to my card stock selection, but I pushed myself a bit and was happy with how this turned out.
Supplies Used:
Paper ~ Crumb Cake, Tea for Two DSP, 2011-2013 In-Color DSP (Calypso Coral), Midnight Muse, Summer Starfruit, Very Vanilla
Ink ~ Summer Starfruit, Midnight Muse, Calypso Coral
Stamp Set ~ Oh, Hello
Other Supplies ~ Oval Collection Framelits, Flower Trim, Lucky Limeade Ruffled Ribbon

I am really hoping this flower trim carries over to the new catalog! I LOVE it and have been using it so much!  I am sad that Lucky Limeade didn't make the cut and will soon be gone :(  But, some of my favorites are sticking around and even a few old faves are making a comeback too...WOOHOO!!!

Thanks for stopping by today!

Happy Stamping!

Ok, what are you waiting for?  Get busy on creating your order and get it all ready to submit this weekend.  Check back tomorrow for a Hostess Code and a special offer from me if you place an order with me between April 6-8!!!

Happy Stamping!

Stylin' Stampin' Squad Blog Hop ~ Weddings and Anniversary

Hello and welcome to April's Stylin' Stampin' Squad Blog Hop! It's spring and we all know what that means...wedding bells will soon be ringing and anniversaries will be celebrated.  If you just came from Jennifer's blog, don't you just love her project this month?!?!
My brother-in-law recently became engaged and will be getting married next summer.  He and his bride-to-be kindly asked me to make their wedding invitations and I am thrilled to take on this task!  Right now I am just playing around with some different designs for them and thought I would share one with you since it fits right in with this month's theme.
This first project is a pocket style invitation.  The invite slides right into the little pocket and will be perfect for mailing.  I used MDS for the wording on the invitation, but the rest is hand stamped.
Supplies Used:
Paper ~ Basic Black, Pool Party, Brushed Silver, Whisper White
Ink ~ JetBlack StazOn, Pool Party
Stamp Sets ~ Lovely Letters Alphabet, Everything Eleanor, Artistic Etchings
Other Supplies ~ Big Shot, Labels Collection Framelits, Extra Large Oval Punch, 1 3/8" Circle Punch, Lacy Brocade Embossing Folder, Basic Black Taffeta Ribbon, MDS
My next creation is a fun wedding favor box I made using the Petal Cone Bigz Die.  It's a simple little box, but if I'm going to be making 200+ of these, I want to keep it simple ;)
Supplies Used:
Paper ~ Pool Party, Brushed Silver, Whisper White, Basic Black
Ink ~ JetBlack StazOn, VersaMark
Stamp Sets ~ Lovely Letters Alphabet, Tiny Tags
Other Supplies ~ Cone Petal Bigz Die, 1 3/8" Circle Punch, 1 3/4' Scallop Circle Punch, Jewelry Tag Punch, Pool Party Embossing Powder, Pool Party Bakers Twine, Basic Black Taffeta Ribbon
And my last project is a thank you note card...a wedding must, right?!?! I used the Pool Party Embossing Powder on the Brushed Silver Paper.  I wasn't sure how it would turn out, but I was happy with the end result.  There is just the right amount of shimmer in the silver paper...so pretty!
Supplies Used:
Paper ~ Note Cards & Envelopes, Pool Party, Brushed Silver
Ink ~ JetBlack StazOn, VersaMark
Stamp Set ~ Everything Eleanor, Mr & Mrs, Curly Cute
Other Supplies ~ Pool Party Embossing Powder, Basic Black Taffeta Ribbon

Thanks for visiting today!  Stay tuned to my blog for more wedding invitation "try outs".  Until then, hop on over to Diana's blog and see her beautiful project this month.
